We have stayed at SoHi Campground for the past 3 years and really enjoy the rustic atmosphere. They have spacious sites with plenty of room. The owner has become a good friend and will assist you in any way he can. As an appreciation to his campers he often gives a FREE Sunday breakfast. There are FREE movies, mini golf, basketball, large playground, pool, paddle boats and much more. You will not regret staying at SoHi. We can not say enough about the place and look forward to returning every year! We camped at SoHi Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This camp has resort facilities such as an elaborate playground, fishing pond and pool. It is heavily wooded except for several sites in a field where satellite dishes can work. Don't arrive at night without arranging for camp personnel; there are complicated pathways and few lights. Don't miss the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts: it is on the grounds of the original Woodstock Festival and elaborately commemorates the event. We camped at SoHi Campground in a Motorhome.

Three scenic drives are mapped out online. The north loop of the Shawangunk mountain ridge, entirely paved, had stops for museums, the old New York canal and a state forest. The Hudson River Valley rail trail bicycle trip features a 1.3 mile walkway over the river.

The Alfred University Forest People Outdoor Club truly enjoyed our stay. Management was extremely friendly and helpful, even cooking us breakfast one morning! Our site was isolated from other sites, making us feel like we were truly camping in the great outdoors with all the amenities of a full-blown campground. I would highly recommend So-Hi to anyone. The site was very rocky. Trash was present on the site. It was very difficult to get level and a long stretch to the hookups once I was as level as I could be. I got an eerie feeling as I drove in. The place looked very run down and unappealing. When I entered the restroom that evening it was disgusting. The main restroom is fairly modern, with three toilets. One was broken, one was filthy and the other broken. To their credit it was cleaned up in the morning, but I was not comfortable staying there at all. We camped at SoHi Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice place to spend a week or two, they have a special discount rate of $225.00 for a week stay that is less expensive than any other place we looked at in the region. They had a large selection of sites to choose from and things to do like mini golf and a great pool. It was located near the mountain trails we like to hike and bike. Can not say enough about the owner who did his most to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We highly recommend this campground! We camped at SoHi Campground in a Motorhome.

Spent the week and explored the area. There was more to do than we could do in a week, so we will be back soon. This was a great campground to vacation at. It was a pleasant relief from the heat of Florida and the grand kids love the fishing and pool. I still can't beat them at Mini Golf, but it was FREE. Also Sunday Breakfast and the Saturday Night Move were FREE. Plenty to do in camp and plenty of nice restaurants in the area to choose from. The area was very organic in nature and filled with lots of artists. An interesting place to visit! We camped at SoHi Campground in a Motorhome.

Arrived in afternoon, owner took us around to see what site our 40' coach would fit in. He himself was so helpful that we will be back. it is nice when you ask for something, the help don't say let me check for you.

Very good service. The site was very quiet. Some sites may be a issue. Big rig friendly. The roads can use a little tree trimming. We camped at SoHi Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The park is very old and in the process of being refurbished. When it is complete, it will be a very nice park, but has a ways to go yet. Very nice play area for children with what looked like a nice pool. We camped at SoHi Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park was truly "in the wild!" Lots of trees and very unkempt grounds. They did have a small pool. Every time we went outside, we had to watch for snakes, which were plentiful. Most staff were not particularly helpful, but the owner was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. We truly felt like his main goal was for us to have a good experience in New York City. We camped at SoHi Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This was one of the few parks close to New York City that we could find. It is kind of out in the boondocks. The bus station is 30 minutes from the park, and it is an hour and a half bus ride to the city. $17 each way during the week; $12 on weekends.

We have returned for the summer this year to find even more improvements to SO-HI. We just love the rustic wilderness setting and the friendly atmosphere. The tranquil shaded sites give protection from the summer heat and make it possible to spend lots of time outside. Isn't that what camping is all about? The rates are very reasonable when compared to other campgrounds in the Catskills and the amenities are more than adequate.

I highly recommend this campground. It is family friendly and has plenty to do for those who want to be active and lots of laid back for those who want to be a camper potato!

I say try it, you'll like it! We camped at SoHi Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is a wilderness setting with open and wooded sites for us tenters. They have outbuilding bathrooms throughout the camp with hot showers and outside sinks for doing dishes. We camped on the grass near the pond and just loved the pool. The kids loved the playground and game room. Had a wonderful time. Will go back soon. We camped at SoHi Campground in a Tent.

This was a delightful newly renovated campground under new ownership it has apparently undergone a metamorphosis to a modern resort with all the amenities you would expect. We stayed for the summer and consider it a must when visiting the Catskills in the Hudson Valley. It has spacious shaded sites, unlike other campgrounds where they stack you like firewood in open sites to bake in the sun. The pond with paddle boats and fenced pool were pleasant places to chill during those dog days of summer. I highly recommend So-Hi to anyone who wants a bargain on camping in NY. I suspect the pricing will increase as this jewel is discovered by more campers willing to take the road less traveled! We camped at SoHi Campground in a Motorhome.

As the owner is very nice the park in general is not maintained. Seasonal trailers seem to have been left behind years ago. Our view was of a trailer in complete disrepair and with trash stashed in all sorts of places. The sewer hookups are into barrels buried under your site. The water was not drinkable. Wi-Fi didn't make to our site. Pool looked clean and newer. Store was bare. My fiance noted this would make a great location to film a horror movie. (please accept this as my humor) Campground has or had potential. We are new to RVing (five previous and wonderful campgrounds) and this was by far a learning experience. Overall, the campground was not in great shape. Our first and primary concern was hygiene. The water was brown and undrinkable. We had to buy gallon jugs of water for cooking and drinking. Sewer hookups were into buried 55-gallon drums. Part of our drum was visible in our site. So these drums rust, don't they. What might have been leaking into the ground? Is this legal? Many sites are abandoned and very shabby. The owners don't maintain them at all. Many of the cement pads are covered in mold and pine needles, and there are disgusting abandoned trailers. The place was very buggy--plenty of weeds around. When we got there on Monday, the shower stalls were covered in dead bugs. Fortunately, they were cleaned that afternoon although bugs did return throughout our stay. At least the water in the bathhouse was fine. Some good things included a nice pool, no problem running our AC, free Wi-Fi, large sites, friendly owner (although rarely in the office, they live near the entrance), $6.00 gets you a large bundle of wood, and a few noisy seasonal people; otherwise a quiet place. According to one of the seasonal folks, at one time the campground had really been very nice. When the seasonal folks began leaving (many had died), the owners just let the place go. Too bad, it really has potential. We camped at SoHi Campground in a Tent Trailer.
