Overall Rating:

I added in our metered electric (separate charge if 7 days or more) into the rate we paid and stated here, but the site was a great value. Management maintains a beautiful park with exceptional views and awesome maintained sites! During our visit there was a bit of noise and a significant but clearly temporary truck traffic in the park as areas of the resort are still under construction, but it was not bothersome. The location is perfect to visit the 1000 Island region - Alexandria Bay, 20 minutes to Watertown, Ft Drum; and Clayton is just a few minutes down the road. The amenities are superb -Tiki Bar, pool when its warm enough, boat docks & ramp. Sites are perfectly developed. Wifi excellent. Having cable would have been nice for a park of this quality, but none was available. But we enjoyed the view and did not miss the TV! Was a bit "buggy" but that's just mother nature doing her thing! Looking forward to visiting again. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fantastic full grocery store immediately adjacent to the campground . Alexandria Bay and Clayton are nearby and offer wonderful culinary choices and quaint riverfront atmosphere. You must check out the waterfront in both towns. Other great nearby venues are the Watertown Zoo, Boldt Castle. If you have some extra time visit Sacketts Harbor also! Very convenient to Ft Drum.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here 5 nights, to be able to do day trips in the area. The park is definitely upscale, with concrete pads, and well-laid-out utilities. Nice pool area with tiki bar - they had live entertainment there a couple times during our stay. We appreciate RV resorts over "campgrounds" when available - some may find this a plus, but big smokey fires are not appealing to us, and it seemed that most people had smokey fires going all the time. We had to keep our doors and windows closed most of the time because of the smell. Also, the neighbors on both sides of us were noisy well into the night. I'm all for people having fun, but this went on beyond normal quiet hours. Both of those neighbors had multiple vehicles (besides their RV) parked on the gravel and the grass. I did not rate the park lower because of the neighbors, although some security keeping things more peaceful would have been nice. The park is very nicely landscaped, a co-located marina, and conveniently located for Alexandria Bay, Clayton, and day tripping in Canada. Someone commented about the extra charge for electricity - unusual for an RV park, but very typical for a marina. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a PriceChopper store located next door to the park - very convenient. Restaurants and boat trips in Alexandria Bay (US Boat Tours offers a variety of trips). A farmers market and good shopping in Clayton. An international bridge to Canada is within two miles of the RV park, for day trips into Canada (we had a great time at the Busker Rendezous in Kingston, ON. A beautiful area. Water levels were unusually high while we were there, due to excessive rain and runoff (not the norm).

Overall Rating:

This is a small, fairly new campground with a few sites facing the river. We had site 1A, which faces the river and is near the boat ramp. Being on the river, we got visits from lots of geese and babies, which meant a lot of droppings. The asphalt roads are wide, and the pads are concrete and gravel. The sites have a patio, a picnic table and fire pit, and nice grassy areas between sites. The site was open with no trees to interfere with satellite, and the wifi worked well. With site 1A being near the boat ramp, there were cars/trucks parked near our site, so we had to be careful backing out when we left. We would stay here again, but would request a different site. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

This campground is big rig friendly. We did get a Good Sam discount, the place is very clean and has a great view. The sites are gravel and concrete. Wide open with no low hanging branches. Gravel pads, concrete and asphalt driveway, 30 and 50 amp with sewer.

Only thing that I was disappointed about with the park was the fact that the office person answering the phone and checking us in (the manager) was not up front about an additional charge for electricity. Even during checking into the park nothing was said about electricity was extra. Really nice place, I just felt that it should be said upon arrival that there is a up front $10 a day charge for electricity. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Outstanding RV park! Paved roads, concrete, level pads, well maintained grass between sites, good amount of space between sites, bath/showers immaculate & modern, nice pool area with a tiki bar, boat launch & docks, playground for kids, dog run, & affordable for Passport America members at $180 for a week. Close to A Bay, Clayton, & Cape Vincent. Definite stop while exploring the Thousand Islands area and Canada. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay. No better view than the St. Lawrence River. Staff was extremely helpful. It's pretty clear that the park wants to attract the 'upper echelon' of campers. No cable is offered because they say 'look, everyone has dishes.' Well, not everybody. Site is spacious, level and very clean. Pool with tiki bar was a nice touch. Close to tourism and next door to supermarket. Looking forward to going back next year! We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Travel Trailer.

A Brand New High End RV Park Most recent stay was 07/02/16 (I 'm late in posting my review) and 1st impression is WOW! We camp in a Little Rig "Tear Drop" style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area. This definitely is an RV Park - not a campground ~ did not see any tents or dining canopies. Very new facility just completed 2nd restroom/shower facility at back of park ~ asphalt roadways, cement sidewalks and rv pads; young baby trees so no shade[yet] w/all FUH sites. Park grounds are well laid out - all sites very spacious and not crowded with decent space between neighbors We were close to restroom/shower building but was disappointed with layout for a brand new park; only 1 shower stall designed, sized and outfitted for ADA and there was a waiting line to use it. Of course all modern fixtures fiberglass shower stall, tiled floors, fresh painted walls, granite sink counter top etc. Roomy changing area with a bench for seating and rubber floor mat for feet when exit shower. No hooks or shelves for your stuff - none either at community sink area but did have paper towels to help clean up area after use. Very expensive $88.00 night but won't be back because of price ~ actually overpriced when comparing others and really out of our price range. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Only here overnight but our experience from phone reservation to pulling out in the morning was excellent. Park is well laid out, paved, and well lit. Washroom/shower/laundry facilities were clean and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. And we watched freighters on the St. Lawrence while sitting by the docks. 2 thumbs up, 5 star. OK. I know. $70 a night was WAY too much to pay for a campground. But we wanted to splurge and sit on the river with a great view of the shipping channel. In fact, now that we've been there, there are less expensive sites with very good views of the river. But it was not busy when we were there - perhaps those views might be partially obstructed if the campground were full? I don't know. But splurge we did, and we loved it!

A beautiful new facility built for big rigs! Our 45 ft motorhome fit comfortably in our site, and the interior roads were generously sized and easy to navigate.

We will stay here again! We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Cons: Had the lawns (really mostly dead grass, weeds and dirt) been green between sites, as shown in photos, we would have given it a 10. They had not had rain in three weeks, and there was no irrigation in place. It would have been nicer, at this price, if someone already had a picnic table at our site instead of having to drag one over. Some of the $100 sites RIGHT on the water are worth $100, but I feel $70 was steep for our site. That is, $60 and a $10 per day charge for 50 amp service. $5 a day for 30 amp service. I have never ran into that before.

Pros: Boat launch is right there and trailer storage is there too. Very clean. Majority of sites had a paver patio, ours did not. Majority of sites were very spacious. We did have a tiny view of the river. Pool and Tiki Bar is a nice touch. Couch swings on the water's edge was a nice touch. Overall it really is a nice CG, but the yellow lawn areas were just not expected and at 93 degrees, dry yellow lawn areas put a damper on our thinking about this park, at this price. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

You would think that if you are paying this kind of money that you would not have to pay additional for you electric. The WiFi here is awful. It was in and out if you were even able to connect. Our site had weeds growing in the patio. The front office was very nice and helpful. I have traveled all over the US in the last 5 years. When I pay this kind of money I expect my site to be in good shape and the advertised amenities to work properly. I will probably not go back. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Our site was a level, paved pull-in full hookup site with a nice view of a large grass play area. Many sites are waterfront or water view. Facilities are new and first rate. Pool area is great. There are a lot of planned activities and entertainment. A large grocery store is within walking distance and a gas/diesel station is across the street. The campground is a short drive away from Alexandria Bay and other lakefront towns and villages. People working there are great. One of the nicest places we have stayed in ten years of full-timing. This resort opened fairly recently. It's easy access off I-81 of about a mile. It advertises waterfront and water view, although there are only a few of each. The 8 or 9 waterfront sites are lovely but probably reserved well in advance. We had a water view site on a "ridge" overlooking the tops of other campers. The first site, 110, we were assigned had a tree in front and blocked out any view. Upon request, we moved to 114 which was better and we could see the water. It is a very clean CG with concrete pads, nice picnic table on a paver patio and a fire ring.

But: there are very few sites from which you can see the water. For $112/nite we were somewhat disappointed. WES were fine. Roads are paved. Space between sites at the closest point is about 15-17feet. Although some sites seemed to have more space, and there were several side by side spots if two campers wanted to camp together. Wifi was not available. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a mew park along the St. Lawrence River. The roads are wide, paved with sidewalks. The sites are well spaced out for the picnic tables and fire rings. Some sites have direct water views, most have indirect. The sites has a gravel parking area and concrete pads for the RV, and paver stones for the picnic area. Plenty of friendly staff to handle your needs. Boat slips and rentals are available as well as trailer parking on the property. Pool and pool bar adjacent to the park's marina. Though the park was full for the 4th of July weekend, and had a ton of people here, it is large enough that it did not seem crowded. Water pressure, power and wifi all were fine. This park easily accommodates big rigs, as ours is 45 ft, and we have no issues. The park design was well though out. Grocery store next door will deliver if needed. If in the area we will return.
