The park was everything we needed for a week in the Thousand Island region. All of the sites include a concrete pad and a picnic table on pavers. The campground is right on the St. Lawrence river. We had a water view premium site. The campground is open, so don't expect privacy. Grass between all of the sites. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Critically chose to stay at this location for ability to have a consistently decent WIFI connection.... (had very important insurance claim situation that needed an internet connection to work through passing / sending documents) asked about that prior to booking the reservation, and was told they have WIFI throughout park. In reality during our stay which spanned over three days time, there was only WIFI for one hour on one morning. Office staff claimed that they did NOT have a problem (that it was an issue with my computer and we needed to reboot.) Also claimed that we were the only ones with this problem. Office said that if what I say was true, then there would be 100 people in the office complaining about it. After talking to many fellow campers, we learned that NONE of them had been getting any WIFI from the campground for days. Then the office changed its tune and said that there had been a storm a couple of days back that knocked service out. Swan Bay did not offer any compensation for the lack of internet. When we stay at an inexpensive $30 park with WIFI, we know it may well be slow and maybe spotty (although many of those parks actually have had excellent WIFI)- HOWEVER, when spending over $100 per night, there truly is no excuse for prolonged outages. And if there ultimately IS a prolonged outage of service, some sort of compensation is indeed in order for the customer. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest facilities we have visited. All sites are quite large and well spaced. Each pad is level concrete with a paver extension under the table area. Fire pits were lined with stones, a nice alternative to the usual truck tire ring. Navigation within the park is good with easy back-in or pull-into sites. The marina is attended during the day, with clean docks and convenient boat rentals. Wi-Fi was unusable for three of the five days of our stay. They said it was due to volume, but the facility was only about half full during the outage. It started working properly at the end of the third day of our stay. Firewood was pricey - $8 for a small bundle. There are several roadside stands along the local roads selling similar bundles for $4, so consider buying before you arrive. Restrooms / showers were very clean. Cabins looked modern. The pool is small but they are adding another (also small). Our site was "waterfront" and we had lovely views of the St. Lawrence River and the passing ships in the channel. Our site had a large shade tree that was useful in the afternoon but most sites are in the full sun. You can see the river from most sites and it is an easy walk to the marina area. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and plan to return again next season. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Alexandria Bay is about 4 miles East. Uncle Sam Boat Tours will pick you up at the Swan Bay front gate, take you directly to Alexandria Bay and bring you back at your convenience. Be sure to visit Clayton, a small town just West of Swan Bay. Clayton is a very walkable town, with plenty of restaurants and small shops, a nice boat museum and a well stocked Ace Hardware store. There is a large new hotel in town that adjoins a beautiful park and riverwalk with great views of passing ships.

This is a beautiful, convenient park very near the border crossing. There is a grocery store right next door and gas station across the street. The park is located on the St. Lawrence River, but most of the sites have a rather narrow view. It was convenient to the city of Alexandria Bay and thus the tourist amenities offered. The pads are concrete with gravel roads nicely maintained in the newest part. It was expensive and the cost of 50 amp service ($10.00 a night) is added to the nightly rate. Has a nice boat ramp with nice rentals, a nice pool, and tiki bar. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

The Singer Castle Cruise was really worth doing. A delightful time on the water with a nice historical perspective presented. The castle was also interesting and a good representation of life for the more privileged set of yesteryear.

Lovely park. Clean, clean clean!! Met wonderful people who we plan on meeting up with this winter. Sad there's no cable. Even the cheapest parks we've stayed in have had cable. WIFi not good for us either. Very slow. No warning of the construction going on right behind us! But we didn't find that highly problematic. Beautiful views, generally good service...exception was one worker who was rude about helping with WIFI connection. We would come back! We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The price was for a waterfront site and it was indeed on the waterfront. It was a pull in and offered great views of the St Lawrence. Often saw the big ships pass while looking out the front windshield. There is paving throughout the park and the sites were nice and wide. WiFi was very good. There is a Tiki bar at the pool which we tried out on the one nice day we were there. This is a fun park and we would stay again if we're back in the area. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Take a cruise on the St Lawrence with a stop at Boldt Castle. Also we highly recommend the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton which is a fun town to the west which was much larger and better than expected.

I added in our metered electric (separate charge if 7 days or more) into the rate we paid and stated here, but the site was a great value. Management maintains a beautiful park with exceptional views and awesome maintained sites! During our visit there was a bit of noise and a significant but clearly temporary truck traffic in the park as areas of the resort are still under construction, but it was not bothersome. The location is perfect to visit the 1000 Island region - Alexandria Bay, 20 minutes to Watertown, Ft Drum; and Clayton is just a few minutes down the road. The amenities are superb -Tiki Bar, pool when its warm enough, boat docks & ramp. Sites are perfectly developed. Wifi excellent. Having cable would have been nice for a park of this quality, but none was available. But we enjoyed the view and did not miss the TV! Was a bit "buggy" but that's just mother nature doing her thing! Looking forward to visiting again. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fantastic full grocery store immediately adjacent to the campground . Alexandria Bay and Clayton are nearby and offer wonderful culinary choices and quaint riverfront atmosphere. You must check out the waterfront in both towns. Other great nearby venues are the Watertown Zoo, Boldt Castle. If you have some extra time visit Sacketts Harbor also! Very convenient to Ft Drum.

We stayed here 5 nights, to be able to do day trips in the area. The park is definitely upscale, with concrete pads, and well-laid-out utilities. Nice pool area with tiki bar - they had live entertainment there a couple times during our stay. We appreciate RV resorts over "campgrounds" when available - some may find this a plus, but big smokey fires are not appealing to us, and it seemed that most people had smokey fires going all the time. We had to keep our doors and windows closed most of the time because of the smell. Also, the neighbors on both sides of us were noisy well into the night. I'm all for people having fun, but this went on beyond normal quiet hours. Both of those neighbors had multiple vehicles (besides their RV) parked on the gravel and the grass. I did not rate the park lower because of the neighbors, although some security keeping things more peaceful would have been nice. The park is very nicely landscaped, a co-located marina, and conveniently located for Alexandria Bay, Clayton, and day tripping in Canada. Someone commented about the extra charge for electricity - unusual for an RV park, but very typical for a marina. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a PriceChopper store located next door to the park - very convenient. Restaurants and boat trips in Alexandria Bay (US Boat Tours offers a variety of trips). A farmers market and good shopping in Clayton. An international bridge to Canada is within two miles of the RV park, for day trips into Canada (we had a great time at the Busker Rendezous in Kingston, ON. A beautiful area. Water levels were unusually high while we were there, due to excessive rain and runoff (not the norm).

This is a small, fairly new campground with a few sites facing the river. We had site 1A, which faces the river and is near the boat ramp. Being on the river, we got visits from lots of geese and babies, which meant a lot of droppings. The asphalt roads are wide, and the pads are concrete and gravel. The sites have a patio, a picnic table and fire pit, and nice grassy areas between sites. The site was open with no trees to interfere with satellite, and the wifi worked well. With site 1A being near the boat ramp, there were cars/trucks parked near our site, so we had to be careful backing out when we left. We would stay here again, but would request a different site. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

This campground is big rig friendly. We did get a Good Sam discount, the place is very clean and has a great view. The sites are gravel and concrete. Wide open with no low hanging branches. Gravel pads, concrete and asphalt driveway, 30 and 50 amp with sewer.

Only thing that I was disappointed about with the park was the fact that the office person answering the phone and checking us in (the manager) was not up front about an additional charge for electricity. Even during checking into the park nothing was said about electricity was extra. Really nice place, I just felt that it should be said upon arrival that there is a up front $10 a day charge for electricity. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay. No better view than the St. Lawrence River. Staff was extremely helpful. It's pretty clear that the park wants to attract the 'upper echelon' of campers. No cable is offered because they say 'look, everyone has dishes.' Well, not everybody. Site is spacious, level and very clean. Pool with tiki bar was a nice touch. Close to tourism and next door to supermarket. Looking forward to going back next year! We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Travel Trailer.

A Brand New High End RV Park Most recent stay was 07/02/16 (I 'm late in posting my review) and 1st impression is WOW! We camp in a Little Rig "Tear Drop" style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area. This definitely is an RV Park - not a campground ~ did not see any tents or dining canopies. Very new facility just completed 2nd restroom/shower facility at back of park ~ asphalt roadways, cement sidewalks and rv pads; young baby trees so no shade[yet] w/all FUH sites. Park grounds are well laid out - all sites very spacious and not crowded with decent space between neighbors We were close to restroom/shower building but was disappointed with layout for a brand new park; only 1 shower stall designed, sized and outfitted for ADA and there was a waiting line to use it. Of course all modern fixtures fiberglass shower stall, tiled floors, fresh painted walls, granite sink counter top etc. Roomy changing area with a bench for seating and rubber floor mat for feet when exit shower. No hooks or shelves for your stuff - none either at community sink area but did have paper towels to help clean up area after use. Very expensive $88.00 night but won't be back because of price ~ actually overpriced when comparing others and really out of our price range. We camped at Swan Bay Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Only here overnight but our experience from phone reservation to pulling out in the morning was excellent. Park is well laid out, paved, and well lit.
