This is a fun place to stay if you are going to rent a canoe and float down the river. There is a lot of goose poop in the tent areas which, if I was in a tent, would be a huge issue. Staying by the river is really pleasant. I don't know about the other areas. Easy in and out for RV's. You have to pay extra for decent channels. Verizon phone service wasn't very good. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bob's Diner off of Rt 7 is a good little place for dinner that is several miles from the campground. It closes at 7:30 so go early! The price of diesel gas at the station off the interstate heading to the campground was $3.29 which was much cheaper than a lot of places.

We stayed here based on Good Sam's ratings. I booked online, site did not give me option to enter or note GS discount. Told at check-in I'd be refunded difference, still waiting for refund. No cell service (AT&T or Verizon) no over the air TV channels and no radio stations. Told they were Big Rig friendly and put us at back-in site near water. Took us an hour to back-in, road narrow & hard to make swing while seasonal campers just watched and didn't move cars across the road. Pedestal is near road so our nose was even with road so 30ft cord could reach. Staff offered to move us to 30amp site or another back-in, after stress of backing into initial site we didn't want to move. Our site was not level, maybe because we had to pull so close to the road. Our back in was high and the front was completely retracted down. Lots of activities planned for the kids - for an additional fee. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Fifth Wheel.

Good overnight stop. We utilized their 50 amp pull thru, water/electric only. Good check-in, accepted our Good Sam. Looks like a lively seasonal park. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Motorhome.

We loved Tall Pines. It is nestled next to a river and has some AMAZING views. While a bit off the beaten path, there is a decent grocery 10 minutes away. The campground is run by a family who really wants to take care of you and get you involved in activites. We were in a site across from the river and looked out onto a lush amazing field. And the grass was heaven under our feet. We are very much looking forward to our next stay. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Motorhome.

Booked a reservation by phone but never received any paperwork or email saying NOT to use Google Maps for directions. Needless to say we were not on the best route for getting to campground. Came in from the north and were directed to take Exit 10.....don't do it. Campground sign is not painted on both sides so missed the turn into campground. We finally made it but no one in the office from 11:00-3:00. We just wanted to get parked and set up. Finally an employee offered to open the office to get us checked in. FHU sites by river are pretty close and barely long enough for our rig. Roads in campground really need some work, gravel and dirt and pretty tough in some places. I think we will skip this campground next time. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Motorhome.

I read the other reviews before booking at this campground. We were intrigued by its location to the river and the ability to canoe here. I should have paid more attention to one reviewer from Sept. 2016 who described it accurately. It had rained before our arrival and it was very muddy. Thank goodness that we stepped out onto a concrete pad that was our patio. We asked for an escort and did get one - a good thing, because getting in was tight. Once parked, we were backed up to the river, which was pleasant. I think they have improved the electrical connections as ours was 50 amp and the post looked new. We had hoped to go canoeing, but after talking to the owner, we went away totally confused about whether or not she would do the canoe trip the next day. (their literature states you have until 10am to decide, not so) The weather was too iffy to plan that far ahead. There is very little to do in the area and the campground office did not have any biking, hiking or historical information available. More rain was in the forecast, so we left one day earlier than we had planned. We would probably not return. Not really big rig friendly. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Motorhome.

Park is in a very nice area on the edge of a river. Grounds are well taken care of and look nice, nice play area for kids to play and area they can run around on. Small pool and very cold. Sites are only 30 amp plugs and electric is very old so does not give you the full 30 amps. This park is not big rig friendly at all. We were on a super site as it was called and was very very hard to get into with a 38 foot fifth wheel. Sites are not wide either and you are on top of your neighbor. Suppose to be a grill in each site but most super sites seem to be missing these. We got a down pour of rain for 20 minutes on our 3rd of 7 nights there and out super site turned into a super mud heap for the rest of the week. They charge for everything from taking a shower to even having to pay to play mini golf. Their art and crafts they put on for the kids but they are not cheap either. They do cook and offer food at the camp ground but we saw complaints of it being under cooked and way too expensive for what you got. We will not be returning to this campground any time soon and if your rig is more than 35 foot long and your not made of money I would advise not going to this campground. We stayed here for an event with approximately 50 other families. The campground is lovely and the staff is incredibly friendly. The open lawn provided the perfect space for our different events and the playground, volleyball court and recreation room kept the kids well entertained. The only thing this place really has going for it is location. If you don't have an RV with a bathroom do not stay here. Pool is tiny and just OK. They do have a lot for kids to do, though we didn't take advantage as ours are older. If you have young kids or want to fish or canoe, this is a good place. Sites are on grass and not level - nightmare after a little rain. Bring extra leveling blocks. Ones up on the hill are on gravel but good luck getting up there and backed in if you have anything bigger than a pop up. The scenery and surrounding area are really nice, as were many of the other people we met there. Cell phones do not work here and wifi is a joke. Stayed here three nights. There were lots of things to do. The camp store had a soda fountain. The owners live on site and were very friendly and helpful. The roads in the park were narrow, curved and on hills which made getting in and out challenging but the owners worked with us. The site was level enough. Most of the campers are seasonal and the park had a family feel. Cell service was spotty. Camp wifi was okay. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful campground, on a nice river that runs along side. The rating would have been higher except that our pull-through was very narrow and sloped down hill and the young lady in the office was not very helpful, although she was friendly and outgoing. She never gave us a receipt for camping. I called her and she told me that she'd email it to me, which prompted me to tell her that the Wi-Fi wasn't working. She assured me that it was my computer and not her Wi-Fi system, She had also given us a cable TV listing and I told her none of the channels matched to the guide. She explained that the channels change all the time, and I should just search for the channel I want. This really wouldn't have bothered me, but it rained from the moment we pulled in at 2:00 PM until well after midnight and we planned on leaving the next day. Also, they charge for the use of their showers and they are on a timer. And, although we didn't use it, the fire ring so close to the 'pad' that it made maneuvering into the site a bit of a challenge. Had we wanted to make a fire, the pit would have been halfway underneath our rear slide. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Fifth Wheel.

We paid a deposit over the phone for a premium site (site with concrete patio), but when we arrived, we were only reserved for a standard site (which we didn't realize until we got to our site). The site was a pull-in with no patio where we would have had to park our truck behind our rig once disconnected. The problem was we couldn't drive around to park behind our rig, we would have had to back our truck out between our camper and the next site (again, we didn't realize this until we got to the site). After looking at the site we determined we would have had a hard time doing this because of the neighbors fire pit, chairs, and other items they had set up. We then drove back to the office to see why our site wasn't a premium site. What happened was, they had us reserved for a standard site but took a deposit for a premium site. In the end, when we arrived and paid the balance, everything had been adjusted for a correct balance for a standard site, but it was very confusing when our email confirmation shows our deposit was for a premium site. After getting this figured out, and telling them we wouldn't be able to get our truck out of the original site once disconnected, we paid the difference and upgraded to a premium back-in site on the river. The site was nice, but I'm glad I carry an extension cord for my shore power since the power boxes and water hookups are in the very front of the site by the road (and our power connection is on the back of our rig). Overall, the campground is clean, the hosts are friendly, and there are plenty of activities for kids and families. The campground could use some updating, the sites are somewhat tight and the gravel roads are very narrow and are in need of some repairs. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Fifth Wheel.

The location of this campground is along a river with several sites on the riverbank. We were fortunate to get a riverbank site and it was very peaceful. The sites along the river are narrow with your sewer fitting in the space of your neighbor. We could see how rain may make the river bank sites into muddy fun for departure. The camp hosts are very friendly and give this campground a warm feel. Wi-Fi is available, but only in the recreational center. We camped at Tall Pines Campground, Canoeing & Country Store in a Motorhome.
