10 RV Parks near Boonville, New York
Jul 2015 - $20.00
A real gem at the edge of Adirondack Park! The facility is a wide open space with shade trees around the perimeter. The park road is gravel and plenty wide. Sites are grass with pedestal conveniently located in the rear. Most sites are level, requiring no more that a 2" board or block to level. A few sites at the lower end are soft after heavy rain. Full hookups are available with 30 & 50 amp plugs. There are also sites with no hookups or electric only for boondocking or tents. Satellite access is easy and AT&T service is good.
The park has a recreation room available that is used for square dancing on the weekends. There is a plumbed restroom and a shower facility.
There is no web site for this park. The managers quickly responded to phone messages and were very accommodating during our stay.
Basic campground but a great bargain, convenient location and wonderful hosts. - Rod n Mary
May 2017 - $20.00
Very friendly owner - came out in heavy rain to direct us into a spot A few sites are in an open, grassy area in the front, near the barn. Many more sites further back in the trees. We didn't use amenities and were well satisfied with a one-night stay near the barn. All three power options, water and sewer hookup available. - OlderGoat
Jul 2015 - $45.00
"Love this place."
Nice campground, wooded sites, owners and staff very friendly and helpful.
We stayed here in a 30 class c and then again in a 34 ft travel trailer. - Edson kitchen
Sep 2012 - $22.00
Our site was level with plenty of room. Campground has lots of trees. The interior roads are dirt with gravel. Electrical power, water and sewer are good. The staff was very friendly. - jim65
Aug 2012 - $38.00
There are many seasonal RVs, that appear to be in their campsite year around. The interior roads are basically dirt with a little gravel. They are very rough (ruts) in many areas. Roads are narrow and make it difficult driving to your site. The camp sites are dirt with a very little grass, the area has many trees. The water pressure is on the low side while the electrical power is good. Verizon cell service is low in the area and conversations break up. The Internet service is okay but available just near the office. There is a new heated swimming pool and it is very nice. We camped here three nights. It appears to be over priced for the quality of the campground. The staff was very friendly. - flrop
Aug 2017 - $34.00
Had a very large site in the woods on the lake. Campground is heavily wooded, but we managed to get Dish satellite signal. Facilities are outdated with 3 mens & 3 womens shower stalls for all 100 campsites. Roads in campground are potholed gravel and not well drained. Lots of boaters and fisherman use this park and many campers tie their boat up right at their site. Nice beach with adjacent convenience store. - Appleknocker
Jun 2017 - $23.00
This is a great area, unfortunately the restrooms / showers need updating badly. They are as clean as you can get them but not as nice as most of the other State Parks. The Dump station is really awful!!! It's on a SMALL dirt road that is one big puddle if it's raining. It's really too bad because the sites are large and wooded.
The beach area is beautiful and there are playgrounds galore! This could be a "premier park" if NYS would invest a few dollars in updating. The staff is very friendly and, accommodating. Wood is available at the check-in and, there is a NICE store at the beach that has supplies, good food and ice cream at a reasonable price.
We had the fried Haddock dinner for $10.95 and it was very tasty!
I believe ALL the sites have power and they are all spacious. The waterfront sites are GREAT!
Book early: this campground is 10 minutes from Rome, N.Y. and is quite busy in peak season. Even though the campground is quite near a big city, you feel you are in the country...quiet and peaceful! - saunts
Jun 2015 - $21.00
Very nice CG. This was our second trip at the same site. Many beautiful sites on the water, where we were able to have a relaxing morning coffee while sitting next to the water and watch kayaks and fisherman.....very relaxing. All sites that we saw were very shaded. Our site was huge and could have parked 4 30ft RVs in our site. The driveway was narrow with lots of trees but had no issue driving to and from our site. Site was fairly level and all packed sand, we've had no issues and CG also has a great beach within walking distance. We will go back again and again!!! - Garand1
Jun 2006 - $19.00
When I was a young child, my family use to go to this campground and my memories of camping there with extended family are some of the best childhood memories that I have. My wife and I and some friends decided to try the campground out after many years. I was a bit reluctant, having placed this campground in such high esteem based on those great childhood memories, and not knowing the current condition of the park. I was not at all let down. It is a small park, only 56 sites, but the sites are large, very wooded and some are electric. The swimming area is created by damming the Whetstone Creek. It is a very quaint, very nice campground with some excellent hiking trails and an excellent fishing spot at the Reservoir just up the road. We will return so that our children have good memories of this campground too. - camping lansing
Jul 2017 - $57.00
We stayed over a full weekend, Friday to Monday. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Campsite was neat and the personnel were friendly and helpful. We had a river front site and it was very peaceful. We did not camp with children although there were quite a few there. - Doug Kraft
Jul 2017 - $40.00
Great time. Wish we could have stayed longer with the group. Owners pleasant and accommodating to campers. Very clean campground. So pretty. Will definitely be back next year; hope they can get us space for a week. - Gloria Bear
Jun 2017 - $46.00
Site 47. In our opinion this was the best site in the campground, but most of the 3 service site are very good. We had 3 services. We were backed onto a beautiful river. There was an access to the water (just to sit & look at no boat ramp there) beside us. We will go back this campground again. Staff was very friendly. Quiet campground. Long weekends they have fun activities. What else can I say but "try it". You won't be disappointed. - Jaybejo
Sep 2016 - $16.00
My wife and I stayed for two weeks over Labor day. This is a really great campground. Nestled in the Adirondack mountains. While we were there Cooperstown is close by and beautiful country for pictures. The owners go out if there way taking care of their RV'S. Don't miss this one. - Larry and Sondra
Aug 2016 - $24.00
I am giving this campground 5 stars for many reasons, but mainly because of the owners! The lady at the front desk was sooo nice! When I first called for the reservation we chatted like old friends, and when I called back to see if I could extend our stay she was very accommodating. But the amazing part happened after the lightning storm. Our 45' newly purchased motorhome was struck by lightning! This was horrifying to us as we were unable to start our diesel engine and many of the rigs systems were fried. The owner's found out and they were so helpful! Our Verizon signal didn't work, and obviously we needed to make calls. The owners let us come up to their house to make any calls, and a guy who worked there even gave us his phone to use for the day until we could get things arranged. The owners came by our rig periodically to see how they could help and allowed us to stay (without charge) until the tow truck could pick us up. I can't say enough nice things about the way this park is run! There were many activities for the kids, but if you just want to hang out in a beautiful, peaceful place....then this is it! We will definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area....AND if there are no storms predicted! LOL. - malnmad
Jul 2016 - $32.00
This campground is located at the southern edge of the Adirondack Mountains, surrounded by farmland. It is owned and operated by a very nice couple. It has mostly shaded sites with a few out in the open. The driveways are gravel and site pads are mostly grass. We had a large back in site with 30 amp electric full hookups. There is a bath house and laundry that were kept clean. They offer free WiFi but it is available only near the office. Since we were there over the 4th of July weekend, the campground was almost full with lots of families (and lots of barking dogs) but it was a generally positive and friendly experience. AT&T signal strength here was -93 dBm, good. We paid $32 per night. - Coopsecondact
Jul 2017 - $43.00
Just a so-so RV park. Was led to my site by an elderly gentleman that proceeded to tell me how to back my 5th wheel into my site. Really overbearing. WIFI was basically nonexistent, and when you could connect, you were allowed 1 hr per day. Pretty sad. Picnic table was not much better than for use as firewood. All warped and rickety. There could be more attention paid to overall appearance. Attention to landscaping detail was nonexistent as well. Power, not exactly 50 amp as one would know it. not sure if we would go back. - RollTide150
Oct 2016 - $45.00
First off this is a beautiful campground right on a very nice creek, now for the downside. If you were to stay here during the high season, then the price for the site was OK. However since this is the end of the season to charge this high price with no WiFi or Cable is extreme. The cost was $41 per night with a $4 Heating & AC charge. The weather was beautiful with no need for either H or AC. It was off the beaten path and very quite. Because of the high price, we won't be staying here again. - Jack&Wanda
Aug 2016 - $44.00
I would have given this campground a 10+ if it had cable. We had a huge grassy site on a stream or whatever they are called.
The Wi-Fi came in great and out cell phones worked fantastic.
We would probably go back if the got cable in. The stations we did get were all choppy.
We were right across from the office which was convienient for me. - C and C
Jul 2017 - $39.00
Stayed one night as we travelled through. This rv park is a real gem. Spacious neatly kept sites near a small beach. The owners were fabulous and made us feel very welcome. Services and amenities were great. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. - Wayne and Barb
Jun 2012 - $32.00
Consists primarily of summer seasonal and weekend visitors. Owner quite friendly, professional in front office. A bit difficult to find along local roadways. Signs to campground are limited. Campground is situated along meandering backwaters of a river, generating mosquitoes. Riverside sites are occupied by seasonal campers and are well shaded. The inside loop is sunny and grassy. Sites are fairly snug. All roads are unpaved gravel, with some mild potholes here and there. AT&T service was two bars at best. Electric and water hookups worked fine. We could not get any Wi-Fi reception at our campsite. Huge grassy area for play and games. A significant number of kids. Bathrooms were overused, hot, and steamy... Inadequate to handle the number of users. Compared to other campgrounds we have stayed at around the US and Canada, this one would simply rate as "average". Nothing bad, but nothing that special, either. - The Happy Traveler
Aug 2011 - $20.00
Very nice park, well kept by very accommodating owners/managers. Price is Passport America. Park is not too convenient to anything such as WalMart. Has waterfront for fishing, swimming and boating (boats for rent). - consort
Sep 2017 - $44.00
34 ft TT. Back in site. By lake. Wasn't sure we could get it in here. Others watching didn't think so either..if they would remove stumps would of been great Site has a lot of ankle twister holes. Be careful. Office staff friendly. Heart of old forge. Walking path to water park. But were camping so let's enjoy the fall foliage. - TheRealMcCoys
Oct 2016 - $25.00
We came in on a Tuesday and it was wide open. They assigned us a great space one row from the lake. Level site, clean, 30A service, and near enough to the lodge to get decent network access. Nice crew working here. Nothing going on in town as the season is over. But so nice and quiet here. I would not want to be here on a weekend or during the regular season. - Kvw613
Jun 2016 - $56.00
We were in the best site in the campground, number 374. It was newly graveled, and appeared to be the only one that wasn't all dirt. I was very happy that we got it, as I hate to live on dirt. That being said, we noticed that sites are raked and cleaned before each new camper.
The site is on the small lake, that is quite beautiful. The sites are heavily wooded (no satellite reception).
NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO RUN THE A/C! And if you do, it has to be on your own generator, not during quiet hours. Thank goodness it was cool while we were there. But after we left, temps jumped up into the 90s. We would have been miserable.
The camp store is big and full of stuff. Staff is great. - User2989
