The staff that work there are very disrespectful. They run the campground as if they own it. Do it there way or they will call the ranger on you. Even tell you how to back up a trailer and where to park your vehicle. They walk up on your site without even announcing their presence scaring you. You'd think they own the place. They need some training on how to treat people and be respectful to people.

The park itself has gorgeous views for tenters. RVs and trailers do not have access to any water sites. The bathrooms have a code to gain access. There is only 1 bathroom for the entire campground which seemed sufficient. The showers are quite a distance away located in the day use area of the park. Check what events are going on at the park and boat launch as they tend to start early (6am for fishing tournaments) and it can be quite loud. Also there is a car raceway nearby and you frequently hear the racing noises til almost 11 pm. We camped at Oneida Shores Park in a Tent.

Campground was nice, but muddy from the rain. But the campground hosts were totally "over the top" control freaks. With selective, uneven enforcement. One wheel on the grass, and they would harass you. Made the stay very uncomfortable. We camped at Oneida Shores Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This county park campground is less than a mile from exit 31 on I-81 and is convenient for us to visit friends and relatives in the Syracuse area. The park is located on the southwest shore of Oneida Lake and has an excellent boat ramp, children's playground, ball field, archery range, beach volley ball court and a swimming beach that rents kayaks and paddle boats. The park hosts several fishing tournaments and triathlons including the annual "Iron Girl."

The campground has 30 sites in the woods with no hookups and is occupied mainly by tenters. The 24 sites with water and electric are out in the open on a gravel circle with no privacy or shade. There is a restroom in the camping area but the showers are located about 300 yards away at the swimming area. The showers were clean with lots of hot water while we were here. We would stay again because of the convenient location. We camped at Oneida Shores Park in a Motorhome.

If you have 30 amp you will need a 50/30 plug to help you. We did not have this but it still worked for us just had to use your head on what you used for amps. No sewer but they have a emptying site not to far from your camper if you need it.

A lot of space for lunching any where bring your cooler and family and the fun is going to happen. We had a great time. every one should just come for a visit to see all the fun.. We camped at Oneida Shores Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is poorly designed if there was any design when it was built. It is essentially a swampy patch on the south shore of Oneida Lake in a county park. The camp roads are potholed gravel with gravel parking spots for RVs and are the only parts of the campground that aren't underwater during heavy rainstorms. The showers for campers only are located several hundred yards away at the public beach changing rooms. The beach itself was closed most of our two week stay because of blue/green algae and later due to E coli. The only redeeming features are the large boat launch area which draws a lot of fishermen, nearness to I-81 for overnighters and it's proximity to Syracuse. We would not stay here if it wasn't to visit friends and relatives in the Syracuse area. We camped at Oneida Shores Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We camped here late August midweek so it was not crowded. We were in the area for State Fair. We were surprised that it was not more crowded. Our site was on the water and we had some gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The beach was closed, which was disappointing since I thought it was still going to be open since it was before Labor Day, but it looked to be very nice. The bathrooms were clean. You do have to drive to get to the showers as these are near the beach. Only complaint was we arrived after 6pm and were unable to obtain the code to open the door to the restroom. Had to leave a message on the campground phone line but they did eventually respond. Just wish they would let people know that if you arrive late this is something you need to be aware of. i did feel safer knowing that there was a code for the door though. Sites were open but shady. Site were OK in size..you might feel a little crowded during peak season. Lots of places to walk our dogs. We camped at Oneida Shores Park in a Tent.

Sites are wide, some are not very deep; most are level. Bathrooms were clean enough, but could have been better. Nice spot for our Golden to swim in the lake. Good location to visit family and locations on the north or west side of Syracuse. We camped at Oneida Shores Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice county park. Only 3/4 mile from route 81. Has a boat ramp, playground and beach area with life guards. Ice and firewood is available. Sites are a little small, however most will accommodate a 40' foot motorhome. Park is located on Oneida lake, the site of many bass fishing tournaments. We camped at Oneida Shores Park in a Motorhome.
