Jul 2011 - $33.00
Could be a nice campground but Mrs. owner was not friendly at all. How do you expect to work with the public when you have no respect for them. Sorry to say we will not be coming back here neither will the other two campers with our party. We had 3 sites and 3 campers and we all feel the same way about this campground. - Karen and Pat
Jun 2005 - $32.00
All dirt sites, not much grass anywhere. Way to many trees, couldn't even see the sun. Old campground, permanent trailers there hadn't been cleaned up since??? and neither have there sites. Great fishing pond, but has very little access. - PETEALEX
Oct 2016 - $45.00
First off this is a beautiful campground right on a very nice creek, now for the downside. If you were to stay here during the high season, then the price for the site was OK. However since this is the end of the season to charge this high price with no WiFi or Cable is extreme. The cost was $41 per night with a $4 Heating & AC charge. The weather was beautiful with no need for either H or AC. It was off the beaten path and very quite. Because of the high price, we won't be staying here again. - Jack&Wanda
Aug 2016 - $44.00
I would have given this campground a 10+ if it had cable. We had a huge grassy site on a stream or whatever they are called.
The Wi-Fi came in great and out cell phones worked fantastic.
We would probably go back if the got cable in. The stations we did get were all choppy.
We were right across from the office which was convienient for me. - C and C
Jul 2016 - $44.00
Huge park. We camped in the part away from the lake, nice and quiet.
Level grass site with full hookups. - flexitdriver
Jul 2017 - $39.00
Stayed one night as we travelled through. This rv park is a real gem. Spacious neatly kept sites near a small beach. The owners were fabulous and made us feel very welcome. Services and amenities were great. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. - Wayne and Barb
Jun 2012 - $32.00
Consists primarily of summer seasonal and weekend visitors. Owner quite friendly, professional in front office. A bit difficult to find along local roadways. Signs to campground are limited. Campground is situated along meandering backwaters of a river, generating mosquitoes. Riverside sites are occupied by seasonal campers and are well shaded. The inside loop is sunny and grassy. Sites are fairly snug. All roads are unpaved gravel, with some mild potholes here and there. AT&T service was two bars at best. Electric and water hookups worked fine. We could not get any Wi-Fi reception at our campsite. Huge grassy area for play and games. A significant number of kids. Bathrooms were overused, hot, and steamy... Inadequate to handle the number of users. Compared to other campgrounds we have stayed at around the US and Canada, this one would simply rate as "average". Nothing bad, but nothing that special, either. - The Happy Traveler
Aug 2011 - $20.00
Very nice park, well kept by very accommodating owners/managers. Price is Passport America. Park is not too convenient to anything such as WalMart. Has waterfront for fishing, swimming and boating (boats for rent). - consort
Jul 2013 - $44.00
Worst experience ever. We were suppose to have 50 amp service, but couldn't even get 30 amp. They kept blaming the problem on the electric company, but it was the way the pedestal was wired. It was not only my site, but with the rest of the group we were camping with, a total of 10 sites. Quiet hours were suppose to be from 11pm to 8 am, but other camper were loud way past midnight. Will never go to this campground again. - HR 2007
Sep 2010 - $1.00
While we did not stay here we took a drive through the CG to see what it looked like. The other posters were right on the mark. Almost all fulltime residents and not many other sites available to camp on. Would not camp here. There are others in the area! - norootsnow
Sep 2010 - $40.00
Campground was clean however, the workers were rude. Quite time is suppose to be 11:00pm to 8:00am but they had us turn down and off our music during the day. Then the told us we could face the music towards the river and that would be okay but they came down later and told us it was too loud again before 11:00pm. Have a gate key with a charge of $6 when you bring back the key you get your $6 back, one of our campers did not receive the key when they checked it however they charged them for it and would not refund the money when we checked out. Mostly seasonal people camp here and most are not friendly. Would not go back to this campground, it's not worth the money. - rozymat
Jun 2015 - $25.00
Stayed at the campground for a week using PA. The campground is well maintained but very outdated. Bathrooms are badly need of overhaul but were clean. Many seasonal campers, but were well kept. Did not see any swimming area. WiFi signal was strong but all but useless. It was extremely slow. Internal roads need repair. Staff was friendly and helpful. - roybrody
Jun 2014 - $37.00
Beautiful campground, friendly staff, well-stocked camp store, and an actual beach with sand in the swimming area add up to a great camping experience! Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends when they are in the area and will most definitely camp here again and again! - DollyFulltimer
Jun 2007 - $25.00
There was no shade for the tent site which was in the middle of the campground. Facilities were dated. Close proximity to Sylvan Beach Amusement Park. Fishing was good. - inthedraft8
Aug 2017 - $27.00
We've been coming here for a few years now, and have enjoyed the updates. It's a pretty place, well kept and clean. VERY unhappy this year, we made our reservations 9 mos. in advance, when we arrived, much to our dismay, they had removed the water hookups and added a splash park right next to our site. We had to go buy 150ft more hose to get water, and listen to screaming kids from 9am to 8pm daily. We should have been advised of these changes and offered free cancellation or change to our reservation. - MeMe08
Sep 2011 - $29.00
Fairly nice place in the off season, very quiet and lake front sites are easily obtained. I imagine it might be a little crazy in the peak season. Sites are not well marked and confusing, some are low and will be wet/mushy in the rain. The town of Sylvan Beach is 2 miles away with lots of seasonal weeknight events, an old-time amusement park, and several restaurants. Good Verizon coverage. - silvertube
May 2011 - $25.00
Verona Beach State Park has a great semi rustic campground. It's extremely clean and has beautiful views of Oneida Lake and extensive trails. The sites right on the lake are especially nice. There aren't many utility hook ups but most, if not all, of the sites are very easy to access. They have a sandy shallow swimming beach, which the children enjoyed. The the town of Sylvan Beach, NY is very close and has several cute shops and a little amusement park. - Research2011
Aug 2017 - $1.00
Beautiful resort, clean and well maintained, lots to do, a small camp store, bar and grill with specials every day. There is also a 25 acre lake for fishing and boating. A fenced area for pets was a nice touch. - ragsland
Jul 2017 - $10.00
Family oriented campground in the middle of nowhere; great spot for visiting this area of New York. Facilities were nice and in good condition. Band on Saturday night was very good. Downisde was the road and sites. Entry road was in poor condition so take it slow as you enter. The left turn into our area of the camp had a large pothole which really rocked us around and made stuff fall in the coach. Site was grass covered with gravel and it was in poor condition. The area has had a very wet spring/summer so this may not be the norm, but I spoke to a couple of regulars and they said the sites have been a problem for a while. Also, it should be stated up front that C2C members will be given spots without sewer. They did have a low-cost pump out service so it wasn't a problem, but would have been nice to know. - z32k12
Jul 2017 - $1.00
One of the worst Campgrounds we have been to. Started off with lies and deception. We reserved a full hookup site. What we got was a water and electric site for two weeks. We were told to call every morning to check on cancellations. When we got to the site it was a mud hole in the "New Development" area. I told the person that guided us to the site I couldn't park a 40,000 pound RV on that surface. No help whatsoever from management. Another camper arrived same time as us and switched sites with us. Long story short we moved three times, last two days to a full hookup site. Had to pay to empty our tanks, then had to sanitize the whole area because I saw how they did it. Every day we walked around the campground to see empty F/U sites. Occupancy about 75% with the poorest management I have ever seen. Even the owners to the Park complained about not being able to get sites. As with most places the "help" gets the best sites in the park. We stayed here because of the high ratings from Good Sam, boy were they off the mark. Best bet is leave early morning each day return home late each night. Do yourself a favor and read this before you make reservations. Then go elsewhere! - Bavoo60
Aug 2017 - $34.00
Had a very large site in the woods on the lake. Campground is heavily wooded, but we managed to get Dish satellite signal. Facilities are outdated with 3 mens & 3 womens shower stalls for all 100 campsites. Roads in campground are potholed gravel and not well drained. Lots of boaters and fisherman use this park and many campers tie their boat up right at their site. Nice beach with adjacent convenience store. - Appleknocker
Jun 2017 - $23.00
This is a great area, unfortunately the restrooms / showers need updating badly. They are as clean as you can get them but not as nice as most of the other State Parks. The Dump station is really awful!!! It's on a SMALL dirt road that is one big puddle if it's raining. It's really too bad because the sites are large and wooded.
The beach area is beautiful and there are playgrounds galore! This could be a "premier park" if NYS would invest a few dollars in updating. The staff is very friendly and, accommodating. Wood is available at the check-in and, there is a NICE store at the beach that has supplies, good food and ice cream at a reasonable price.
We had the fried Haddock dinner for $10.95 and it was very tasty!
I believe ALL the sites have power and they are all spacious. The waterfront sites are GREAT!
Book early: this campground is 10 minutes from Rome, N.Y. and is quite busy in peak season. Even though the campground is quite near a big city, you feel you are in the country...quiet and peaceful! - saunts
Jun 2015 - $21.00
Very nice CG. This was our second trip at the same site. Many beautiful sites on the water, where we were able to have a relaxing morning coffee while sitting next to the water and watch kayaks and fisherman.....very relaxing. All sites that we saw were very shaded. Our site was huge and could have parked 4 30ft RVs in our site. The driveway was narrow with lots of trees but had no issue driving to and from our site. Site was fairly level and all packed sand, we've had no issues and CG also has a great beach within walking distance. We will go back again and again!!! - Garand1
Sep 2017 - $45.00
We have stayed here twice and it is my absolute favorite of any park so far. The spaces are wide, the park is beautiful, the amenities very nice. There is a free 24-hour shuttle to the casino which is only a mile down the road and plenty of little towns to explore nearby. - Peglegtraveler
Aug 2017 - $45.00
This is an attractive park located just a mile or so off the New York State Thruway. Our rate reflects the weekly rate. They do offer Good Sam discounts on shorter stays. This seems to be a popular park with families, as it has a swimming pool, fishing ponds, and large playground. The casino is nearby and offers free shuttle rides. The bathhouses were clean and modern. Our site was paved, but barely wide enough for our wheels to fit. We were able squeeze our car sideways behind our motorhome, but many who had larger trucks had to park on the grass. The picnic table sits on crushed stone. All the connections(water, sewer, electric) were well positioned in the center of the driveway. All this being said, the one negative was a big problem for us- overhanging tree branches. The entrance into the park and most of the interior roads have low, overhanging tree limbs which were unavoidable. We also had tree issues getting into our site and a neighbor scraped up his fifth wheel trying to leave. Especially Class A motorhomes- you will encounter this problem. - WGlengrl
Aug 2017 - $43.00
friendly staff - easy to find site- nice long sites. clean laundry room but needs more machines. Tried to purchase propane but was told the only person who could pump it was out on the grounds and they did not know when he would be available. Did not offer to try to reach him by radio or phone. Beautiful pool - Let's Ride
Jun 2017 - $35.00
Campground was nice, but muddy from the rain. But the campground hosts were totally "over the top" control freaks. With selective, uneven enforcement. One wheel on the grass, and they would harass you. Made the stay very uncomfortable. - edandck
Jul 2016 - $35.00
This county park campground is less than a mile from exit 31 on I-81 and is convenient for us to visit friends and relatives in the Syracuse area. The park is located on the southwest shore of Oneida Lake and has an excellent boat ramp, children's playground, ball field, archery range, beach volley ball court and a swimming beach that rents kayaks and paddle boats. The park hosts several fishing tournaments and triathlons including the annual "Iron Girl."
The campground has 30 sites in the woods with no hookups and is occupied mainly by tenters. The 24 sites with water and electric are out in the open on a gravel circle with no privacy or shade. There is a restroom in the camping area but the showers are located about 300 yards away at the swimming area. The showers were clean with lots of hot water while we were here. We would stay again because of the convenient location. - Appleknocker
Aug 2014 - $35.00
Campground is poorly designed if there was any design when it was built. It is essentially a swampy patch on the south shore of Oneida Lake in a county park. The camp roads are potholed gravel with gravel parking spots for RVs and are the only parts of the campground that aren't underwater during heavy rainstorms. The showers for campers only are located several hundred yards away at the public beach changing rooms. The beach itself was closed most of our two week stay because of blue/green algae and later due to E coli. The only redeeming features are the large boat launch area which draws a lot of fishermen, nearness to I-81 for overnighters and it's proximity to Syracuse. We would not stay here if it wasn't to visit friends and relatives in the Syracuse area. - Appleknocker
