17 Parks near Campbell, New York

We paid extra because it was a race weekend at Watkins glen and we couldn't use Passport America. We saw that they had a heated pool so we paid the extra money to stay here. The pool was very cold! Needless to say, we didn't go in. There was no cable TV available at our site ($3 extra) and WiFi was so much per hour or daily rate. It is an older park with mostly permanent trailers, but there were quite a few pull-throughs for overnighters. It's easy on/off I-86 so it was convenient. I don't think we would stay unless we could use Passport America, since their "heated" pool doesn't seem to be heated as advertised. The pool area had a good bit of junk laying around, empty sunblock spray, old socks, etc. - Ginny H

Camp Bell CG is an older facility. This campground is a good base from which to tour the western part of the New York Finger Lakes wine region. The overwhelming majority of units on the premises are seasonal campers and they occupy nearly all sites that have any amount of shade. The sites set aside for transient campers are in a large, grassy open area at the rear of the grounds. Sites here are fairly level side to side and a good many of them are pull-throughs. Interior roads are gravel and in excellent condition. There is no separation between you and your neighbor, however the CG management is thoughtful enough to not put two units next to each other if possible. Check-in was quick. The campground store has basic supplies plus souvenir items. We stayed mid-week and even though there are a good number of other campers here, it is very quiet. There is sometimes a bit of traffic noise from nearby I-86 but we did not find that offensive. Grounds & buildings are clean and well-kept. Sewer is not available so we made use of the bath facilities for showering. Water pressure was not overwhelming but acceptable, with plenty of hot water. The shower stalls could benefit from having a grab bar, plus a small seat to use while changing out of and into your clothing. Fixtures are clean however the showers are in need of repair. One stall had no shelf and a broken clothes hook, a second stall's shelf was in need of repair, and a third stall was missing the plastic knob on the mixer faucet handle (the faucet was usable). Basic WiFi is free, but suffered from periods of very slow loading. You have the option of upgrading connectivity for a nominal fee. Access to the dump station is easy. Not a destination campground but an economical choice if your goal is to explore the area. Rate reflects two in our party. We would stay here again. - RamWagon
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Ed and Carmen are great hosts. Ed recommended great local places to eat.
The sites were level and had great satellite reception. The area for the seasonals was very neat and clean. I wish they had some 50 amp service, and would be glad to pay extra for it, but the price is a good value for every thing you get. - johnwadams

Jul 2016 - $19.00
I am over ten yr user here, seldom moved to comment. But as others noted, stated ppa rate $17.50 by phone, quoted $19.00 on arrival, hard try to up charge to $21. Refused any but phone quote for w/30 E. So placed on unlevel, precarious, edge of a deep dry gulch with the deep water wellhead ON my postage stamp site. Low voltage, barely allowed by my EMS. Huge tree prevented full use of slide out. Only reasonable campground for many miles or I would have declined and would NOT return nor recommend. No OTA TV and to purchase cable requires fhu and the inflated rate it incurs. - Wicked Witch
Jun 2016 - $19.00
We weren't informed that our space was water & electric only, and once we got setup tried to get TV no stations. Later we were out and found someone to talk to, they informed us that for $3 more we could get cable. That was not communicated to us. We weren't given a map of the grounds or informed where the showers or restrooms were. The showers, no hooks for your things in the shower, and the water temp is not adjustable. Not impressed, even though the grounds are well kept. - sambasstuff
Sep 2015 - $18.00
We chose this park because we are members of Passport America discount camping club. We were in the area and had to drive a little out of our way to find a reasonable rate for a campsite.
The advertised rate was $16/night on the Passport America site. We called to verify availability before arriving but not the nightly rate. When checking in we were told the rate was $18 and that "they" had it wrong on their website.
Now, $2/night is no big deal for a four-night stay, but it just sours the experience when things are not as they are quoted.
We found a site with full hookups and got settled for the night. The next morning at 8 am the pounding started outside our door. Apparently the RV next door was being replaced with a park model trailer. This park is loaded with seasonal units and very few transient sites. Most of the transient sites they have do not include sewer service. You have to ask for that!
Long story short, we were asked to move so they could get the old trailer out and the new one in. You mean they did not know that the day before?
Once we settled in another site we were fine. The Electric service worked fine, the sewer hookup was a 3" service, but was new, and water pressure was good at 60 psi.
We were in site 23 on the end of a row which was good, close to the laundry, but every golf cart in the place paraded by all day long. It was like being in Florida in February.
The campground was off the main highway through Bath NY so if you are in the area, need a spot for the night, and are Passport members, it will get the job done. Just verify the rate as it is subject to change! - Howard Jaros

What a great place for parents, grandparents and kids. Safe. Clean. No rowdies. Very well kept. - Johnboronkay
Aug 2016 - $42.00
This park is one of the very best I have ever been to! The sites were level, the staff top notch, the amenities among the best available. If ever I am in this area of the Finger Lakes area of New York I will go out of my way to stay here. And oh, by the way, my two fur babies and their sister really enjoyed the dog park! - Hmuse
Jul 2016 - $55.00
We stopped here for one night. They have nice, very long pull-thrus with full hookups. That was perfect as we didn't have to unhook from our travel trailer. They have different types of very long pull-thrus. They gave us one of the regular ones. I wish they offered us one of the big rig sites as those are a little larger and seemed altogether better sites. I think $55 was way too much for what we got. Maybe for families that will use the pools and participate in the activities, it would be worth it, but I doubt it. - Nathalie Bergeron
Jul 2016 - $35.00
We stayed overnight on a busy holiday weekend. There were lots of activities planned. There was food available for supper and breakfast. There is a big pond for fishing and a nice pool for swimming. Campers were quite close together on very tight roads. - suerover
Jul 2016 - $50.00
This is an older park but they are doing their best to make everyone's stay pleasant. We were in the front in the big rig area which is basically a big open field in site of the road. The sites that are more shaded are very tight and would be hard for a large camper to navigate.
There was not much road noise at night, though there is a train that comes through blowing its horn every weeknight about 3 a.m., so that can be a little hard on your sleeping!
But we enjoyed our stay. They have all kinds of things for kids to do on the weekends and we would stay here again. It is convenient to Watkins Glen and Corning. It is very dog friendly also. - mary mcmoo
Jun 2016 - $45.00
Our second stop here and it will be our last. Loud music, yelling and general party atmosphere with no regard to the 11pm quiet hour. We were in the front pull-through area (really, a big field with no shade) and the loud party seemed over at the clubhouse, some distance away. Parking was confusing and generally we didn't enjoy our stay at all, especially considering the price. No thanks, we'll choose somewhere else next time. - 2ColliesInACan
Jul 2015 - $53.00
Spent one night. Site was pretty level. Staff were friendly. Park was clean. Mostly seasonal a but separate area for short term. We camped in the open field to the west of the railroad tracks. - Hartleyfam
Sep 2016 - $28.00
Nice place for an overnight stay. Very quiet. Dirt sites were fine during our stay, however could be a problem if it rained. Decent TV reception. No AT & T cell signal. Free wi-fi for 15 minute trial. Wi-fi for a fee after 15 minutes. We didn't need wi-fi so we didn't use it. - tomnorman457
Jun 2016 - $37.00
We stopped for the night. We did not use any facilities. Dirt roads, just a park. Nothing fancy. 50 amp was good. Sewer hookup was good. Did not have to unhook in our pull through site. - xflyhighx
Aug 2012 - $28.00
Has large, level, grassy sites. Great pool. Poor utilities and terribly slow WiFi (if at all). Good family campground with lots of kid's activities. Decent laundry with 4 machines. - dotr
Jul 2016 - $45.00
We took our grandchildren and daughters camping here and had plenty to keep all the kids busy. Normally most campgrounds have one jumping pillow but this one had TWO. The campsite was a very easy pull through and took no time to set up. We will be re-visiting. - dmlord
May 2016 - $60.00
Our rate reflected a basic full hook up site. Geography at campground is mostly level and very lightly wooded. This is a full resort campground with enough amenities to keep families at the campground if they were to choose to. Our off season WiFi worked well, 3g signal on our Verizon cell phone. Professional and friendly staff. Expect noise from the local race track during day time hours. Also expect daily and sometimes nightly visits from the local freight train from across the street of the campground. Our site hookups were in good working order, noticed most power boxes seemed to be newer/updated. Most sites seemed relatively level. Interior roads & sites had crushed stone. Camp store seemed well stocked and was tastefully decorated. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Showers have plenty of hooks, space and a bench to put your stuff on. Noticed a multitude of site sizes and price ranges to accommodate the many different types of RV's. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. - mdcamping
Apr 2016 - $53.00
Beautiful park would definitely stay again. The park itself has so much to do, you could just go to get away, but it was too cold to do anything outside in April.
Only problem, was the laundry area was too small. The equipment was old, there was no change machine. The dryers were 25 cents for 5 minutes! After using $10.25 worth of quarters, I ended up with undried laundry everywhere in the our rig. Not pleasant.
Lot spacing was spacious with some shade. Site surface was concrete pad, gravel and grass, featuring a fire ring, picnic table and patio - Disneydonna25
Aug 2016 - $30.00
This campground is located in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The owners are wonderful people. I give this park an excellent rating on them alone.
The park has several level pull through sites on gravel. The electric and water utilities are in excellent working condition and properly located. They don't have sewer at site. Owner will pump out full tanks. Each site has grass lawn with fire ring and picnic table. The are several back in sites available also.
There are two large ponds with free peddle boats for campers use. The park also has free WiFi that works quite well.
The owners are constantly working on improvements and maintenance.
They have installed a dump station which was usable on our visit but is still under construction.
The campground is located near several New York State wineries, beautiful Keuka Lake and the picturesque village of Hammondsport. We will go back next summer. - petendoll
Aug 2015 - $30.00
A gem in the woods. Entrance road and sites graveled. Sites have W/E only, no dump station (maybe next year). Owner will dump you anytime you want at no charge. Quiet...No TV, No cell, No WIFI. Owners were busy everyday keeping up with the grounds. I'd stay here again, in a New York minute. - maineman
Aug 2012 - $25.00
We camped here in our RV for 5 days. It is an exceptionally clean park. The owners are very helpful and friendly. They have two private ponds for fishing with paddle boats available. It is close to many nice wineries and just outside of Hammondsport. This is a new campground and the owners are steadily adding improvements to what is already a very beautiful, quiet setting. - A Florida Villager
May 2014 - $18.00
The road to this park is AWEFUL if you are pulling a trailer of any size. There was a posted blue CAMPING sign at the first turn but then nothing to help you find the park. We missed the first turn and called the park. She had us take the back road. AWEFUL, AWEFUL, AWEFUL AND SCARY. I would never take it again. We finally arrived at the park and the owner had us park at a back-in site but had us park like we were a pull thru. Site was grass and very mushy due to heavy rain. We were very apprehensive but agreed to pull onto the grassy area. We stayed 2 days and took us 5 attempts to get out due to almost getting stuck. The road out of the park is very steep and narrow also. We will NEVER stay at this park again. - FullTimeRVers
Aug 2013 - $17.00
Just a so so park but had good access from highway. Activities for children, swimming/fishing pond, and playground. Rate reflects Passport America rate. We stayed just one night. If in the area we would stay again. - User2209
Jul 2016 - $35.00
Mostly permanent residents with lots of outdoor party setups. The initial transient parking we were put in was open field in far end of park and the 30 amp power was weak and pulsating. Got moved to another slot near the office and power was good. It was too short for rv and tow vehicle. The owner/maintenance guy was very helpful. Very well stocked rv supplies probably due to number of older permanent units. Would stay here again only if no other park available. 24 hour WI-FI at office only. Good cable tv and water. - durham4926
