Rural setting with open and wooded campsites. We stayed in the open section which was on a gentle slope, grassy, and spacious. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 2 nights in a 43' motorhome to visit Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Easy drive on US-28 from I-88. Better to use Seminary rd. to enter CG instead of Burke Hill Rd. Arrived after 5pm and owner was waiting for us and escorted to site-FHU PT, level, gravel, easy to navigate. Took care of payment next day. Family run CG, very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful CG with open spaces and wooded areas. Utilities worked well. Lots of room to walk. Great dog park with doogie bags. Small office with essentials. Clean facilities-used washing machines. Pool closed, end of season, CG is seasonal and closes in Oct. When in this area will stay here again. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Motorhome.

Lots of summer activities associated with baseball. They have a Wiffle Ball field and a paint ball (next to CG). easy drive into Cooperstown. Visited Baseball Hall of Fame, shopping, and had lunch at the Doubleday Café. Also stop by DoubleDay Park.

Hartwick Highlands is a very pretty RV park. The site we had was gravel and I did need a 2x6 to level my trailer. The campground was a reasonable distance to National Baseball Hall of Fame. There were no bathrooms in our loop and I could not locate them as they were in a totally different loop. Directions - Do not use the address of the RV Park in your GPS and pay very close attention to the directions listed on the website to get to the park. We were a group of 6 trailers and half of them missed Seminar Road and had to find a place to turn around. The staff was very helpful. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Getting to and away from Cooperstown was a challenge as the roads are two lane roads which were not very wide and you go through small towns getting there. GPS is not very accurate as we had several GPS's and they were sending us three different ways to get there and back to the freeway!

The only downside to this park was no cable tv, could only get 7 channels on the antenna, poor wifi connection and the hot water in the showers was just barely warm enough to take a shower. It was about 53 degs inside and outside the shower Poor signage to find the park. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Motorhome.

Very convenient to ball fields if you need/want that. Also, just a short drive into Cooperstown itself to see the sights-especially the Hall of Fame. Not a very far distance to visit the Ommegang Brewery as well.

Beautiful wooded campground by Cooperstown. Site was level and mostly gravel. Heavily wooded site and some steep hills and narrow roads. We had no trouble getting in and out but you must go slow and be cautious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will stay here again We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a truly awesome campground. Beautiful, well maintained grounds rival the best park environments we have experienced. It has the feel of a top notch state park, large with a variety of sites to choose from with exceptional space between. Our pull thru site was long, wide, level with excellent utilities and plenty of room for our tow vehicle. Restrooms were exceptionally clean as was the laundry. The staff was very friendly and helpful, anxious to make your experience a good one. The park was a snap to navigate even in those sites in the more wooded section. Numerous cabins were available for rent and appeared to be maintained to the highest standards. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice, clean gated park. The entrance is beautiful and well maintained. We were on site F15, which was wooded. These sites are very spacious with lots of shade. There is lots of room for kids to play and two very clean dog parks. I give the park an extra point for recycling and for the dog park. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Motorhome.

Very mixed feelings about this park. No cable TV is a known...but still frustrating when you also cannot get any over the air OR AM talk stations without interference. WIFI is advertised but there is NO throughput available. I used up my months data allocation on cell phone here.

The pool is small, warm, 4.5 ft deep and a few 8 buck plastic chairs are the only nod to poolside comfort. But clean, as are the bathrooms despite not being the most modern.

On the plus side: the setting is beautiful, the roads & sites are good & big. You can have open or shaded. It's a great place for baseball playing kids and the staff is warm and friendly and helpful.

It is the closest park to Cooperstown (wonderful) and you should come in on SEMINARY RD. from route 28. Not the CR11 your GPS will give you: which is a steep climb.

Overall: I'd stay here again if I wanted to see Cooperstown, but not for long! We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Mel's At 22 restaurant in Cooperstown was superb and reasonable for adults.

Park your car in the BLUE lot 2 miles up 28 on right from park. Ride the trolley all day to everywhere you want to see for $2.

You should allow at least 1/2 day for the HOF museum: more if you're a big fan of baseball history.

By the ball park: you can test your fastball on radar and see if you can hit the curve in the batting cages.

Great clean and pretty campground. Note don't use your GPS for the final few miles, instead pass Hwy 11 and come in on Seminary rd and right onto Burke Hill Rd. small sign on left, it is an easier way in, you will miss the winding hilly road that way. Delightful host, easy drive into the Hall of Fame. Easy back ins and pull through sites. Here in October so almost had the place to ourselves. This is a beautiful campground in the hills near Cooperstown, NY. We were there for a week while our son played at Dreams Park. It also happened to be HOF induction weekend when we arrived. So it was a very busy time there! The staff is the friendliest I have ever encountered, and no I don't know them nor am I related to them! Grounds/facilities are very well maintained. They let us have a team party there and we were the only ones from our group staying there! They are so kind! They don't run around on their golf cart yelling at everyone about rules like so many other places, they are too busy making the place great! We will be back for sure. Only complaint is there is no cable.......but we were so busy it didn't really matter. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I wish we had been able to stay more than two nights at this terrific campground. We were in town with the sole purpose of visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame, so I didn't pay much attention to the campground when booking. Therefore, I was surprised when we arrived at saw all that it has to offer. My children enjoyed the safe, modern playground and the clean, well-maintained pool. Of course it had a ball field (this is Cooperstown after all), and we saw several children out playing on it. The campground also offers paintball, but we didn't try that. We liked our level, shaded site in the forested section of the park. It reminded us of some of the nicer state parks we have visited. Bathrooms were very clean, and there were several of them, because this is a large campground. Camp owners and staff were friendly and helpful and allowed us to stay past checkout so our children could swim before our long car ride. My dog's least favorite feature was the dog wash station near the camp office. Our terrier mix was very displeased when a delightful walk in the park turned into a bath for him. However the rest of our family were happy to get him bathed, because he was getting rather stinky. We camped at Hartwick Highlands Campground in a Travel Trailer.
