15 Parks near Copake, New York
Aug 2016 - $65.00
It would have been really nice to know the road is closed coming in from the north and the detour is about 10 miles out of the way. No indication on their website or the confirmation.
The park is very clean and the sites are large with real grass (not weeds!) They are level and very easy to get in and out of. Staff was OK at check in. Some of the folks nicer than others.
They had band on Saturday night which was fun but lightly attended (it was raining soon after they started).
The biggest complaint was there are only 6 showers for the whole park. They are unisex and excellent, although the shower itself is a bit tricky. While I was showering people kept banging on the door.
There's nothing nearby as far as stores or gas, but the KOA store has the basics. A lot of info on local towns and not too far from some quaint little places. There's a gate and if you don't put the $20 deposit for the gate key you have to call them every time you come in. - Catsinatrailer
Aug 2016 - $78.00
The staff here is top-notch! We needed an overnight reservation and even though the campground had a 2 night minimum stay in effect that weekend, they made an exception for us as it was a last minute, on the road change for our itinerary.
The gates are locked at 8, but we gave them an anticipated arrival time and they were there within 3 minutes of our late arrival to escort us to our site. Bathrooms were clean, up to date, and spacious. Beautiful pool and grounds! We will definitely return here when in the area. - calijame
Jul 2016 - $80.00
Beautiful place to stay with excellent staff! Many activities for kids and adults. We've always enjoyed the bands they have come in. - tshaunb
May 2015 - $29.00
Old Rundown campground that a resort is trying to update. Would not recommend this campground at all. The clerk was suppose to be the general manager and she could not check us in correctly. We told her we wanted 30 amps and she put us in a full hook up 50 amps. The ground was unlevel on a soft grassy surface . Suppose to have cable but that did not work. No internet service at all. Only good thing was half price with Passport America rate. Stay away. - Biggyrat
Jul 2013 - $30.00
This campground is in need of a lot of updates. There are a lot of seasonal units but most of them are well kept. They have minimal activities on weekends for children. Swimming is in a lake that is not very clean. Store is minimally stocked. A pass card is required to gain entrance through the gate with a deposit required for the card. Guests are charged $8. per day to visit. Overall tired looking and unkempt. However there are plenty of sites available and the power and wifi (which costs extra) are excellent. We would probably not stay here again as there are nicer options in the area. - Landeetwo
Oct 2012 - $20.00
While this park does not have laundry facilities (there is a public one just over a mile away) it has so many other positive features that it is a great place to stay. Planned activities, lots of family oriented things going on, takeaway food available at a reasonable cost, and it is very family friendly. The managers and staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed three nights and the price reflects an October special for Passport America members. - Pegbag
Jul 2016 - $35.00
We stayed in the park for 7 days over the 4th of July weekend to attend a concert in Tanglewood. The park was clean and quiet, except for the fireworks on 3 July that drove our dog crazy. The lake is clean and there are boats to rent if you like. They don't have cable and the free-air TV was nonexistent. The staff is friendly and helpful. - cooktr
Sep 2015 - $45.00
Older park, but well located close to Great Barrington. We had a pull thru site which was kinda OK pull thru, but required backing and adjusting to get in the site "square". If the restrooms had been clean, the park would have gotten a better rating, although we thought it rather expensive and they accepted no discounts. - living large
Oct 2011 - $34.00
Nice location, the base rate for the campsite was $34 but then extra per kid plus per pet brought the actual rate paid to about $52/night. Our site was on the small side but i did see some very nice sites throughout the park. The park definitely caters to the seasonal campers, we counted 75+ seasonal sites. The location is excellent, right next to a very nice lake. The roads in the campground could use some work but were fine when we were there. Might be a bit tougher in wet weather. The campground was very quiet overall, although being the last weekend for camping some of the seasonal folks were having a going away party, still it was not overly obnoxious to us. The owner did seem a bit surly at first but once we had a chance to talk a bit, i think it is just his way. He wasn't rude at all, a bit gruff but he also was very helpful when asked a question and was even helping some folks from another site track down a new tent when they had some issues with theirs. We will definitely camp here again and try it earlier in the season to see how the crowds are. We may even look at going the seasonal route if the park is as nice in July as it was this past weekend. - blazer1918
Jul 2016 - $57.00
This is a lovely family campground in a beautiful country setting. Cable worked very well and the water/sewer/electric hook-ups were good. We asked for a quiet area and appreciated being accommodated. The roads are dirt/gravel and our site was grass. There were lots of activities for families and kids. They had WIFI, but it was spotty. Bathrooms were older but clean. The swimming pool was popular. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Pricing is higher than we expected, but we did like it here. - R&S
Aug 2015 - $29.00
Rate reflects monthly rate. The last time we were here was 5 yrs ago. Improvements were made since then, more gravel on sites and better maintained . Still a family campground with lots to do for kids on weekends. Utilities were good, Wi-Fi on the weak side better during the afternoon. Friendly owners and campers. Would come back again. - norootsnow
Jun 2015 - $22.00

Beautiful huge park with large separation between sites. Many of the sites are on grass. Some are on crushed slate. Roadway between lanes was not wide enough for a big rig.. If there had been another unit in the space across the lane from us, it would have been quite difficult getting a big rig in and out. With rain, this park gets a little muddy. Lovely grounds. This park is on multiple levels. Owners have put in stone steps between levels which is nice. Quiet part of the park is up on the hills. Much busier down below where the heated pool, hayride and activities are held. There are a few seasonal units in residence - all are beautifully maintained. Washrooms, laundry are all at the bottom of the hill so quite a hike if you are on one of the upper levels.
Many wonderful little historic towns nearby. - JanneC
Aug 2012 - $30.00
Great county run park, much like a state park, very quiet at night as it mostly gets day use. Seriously unlevel sites but big. - Mcewena
Jul 2016 - $55.00
We stayed here with another couple 4th of July weekend 2016. Our sites were very nice and shaded but were bordering a swampy area and the mosquitoes were vicious! We ended up with welts on our legs even though we had a campfire going and bug spray on! They had an Elvis impersonator for entertainment, which was hilarious! (Mostly because of the swooning of the women in the audience and his interaction with them.) The staff is very nice and the pool is very clean, although we didn't make use of it.
They have a small "catch and release" pond for fishing, but the adjacent lake is not navigable because of the vegetation. If you are planning to kayak here, forget it!
The campground overall is very nice, but a bit pricey. If you consider this place, request an area away from the wetlands. - grumpah
May 2016 - $50.00
Campground is spotless, great staff. Very helpful. Breakfast on Mother's day morning was delicious. Great coffee! Lot spacing was spacious with a sunny/open exposure. Site surfaces were gravel and featured a fire ring and picnic table. Well kept grounds! - Cyclegirl00
Aug 2015 - $51.00
A nice park with friendly folks, level sites. Build on several levels, expect hills to and from any site. - ta96silver
Sep 2015 - $53.00
This is a great park and I would stay again. Grass was groomed throughout. Activities were awesome and the staff very friendly. We enjoyed everything about the park. The roads were nice gravel. The restrooms are clean. Big rig friendly. Easy to maneuver around. Beautiful view of the mountains. - CrazyCamper2
Jul 2015 - $99.00
Very Expensive even for a holiday weekend. It happens to be the most expensive campground we're ever stayed in partly because they charge and extra $12/night for anything more than 2 adults/site. The layout and grounds are just OK. The park is run like a resort with activities (mostly for kids) announced over a very loud speaker system (one was right in our site) several times a day. Nice pool and hot tub -- otherwise not worth the extra fees paid. Site was a bit downhill with a big drop off at the back of the site. Our 39' rig had to overhang the ravine a bit to be off of the road. - wisewoman
Oct 2012 - $55.00
While traveling north from the Connecticut shoreline we stopped here for 2 nights. The facilities are well kept, and the staff was pleasant, but they seemed annoyed to answer our questions about the park, and when we asked for other parks to travel to they acted as if they were the only one that mattered. The site we were on had full hookups but was on the smaller side and not worth the $55.00 they charged us. Overall the stay was nice but I think we will try another park next time we are in that area. - richardlover
Jul 2016 - $48.00
Very good site, private, well kept sites. The wifi was excellent. I almost did not stay because of reviews, everyone complained about roads getting to the campground. I am glad I decided to go! If in the area I would stay again. - Oldman5145
Jul 2016 - $43.00
Park is close to I-90 but the state route 22 to the park is very rough for about 1 mile. After that the remaining roads are fair. Roads in the park are narrow but manageable with our 39ft motorhome. We were in section C which are back in sites and have sewer and 30amp. Section C did not have a shower and the one toilet was basically a nasty out house. There are two sections that have showers and toilets and they were fairly clean. The park is large with many seasonal units. The grounds are well kept and the staff was very helpful. There is a swimming pond with a sand beach. Sites are well spaced with plenty of shade. Wi-Fi is spotty. When it works it works well but drops out often. No At&t service. Park is very peaceful and close to many attractions. We stopped for an overnight and ended staying 3 nights. We would stay here again. - atwig
Aug 2013 - $42.00
Nice park ... the road getting to the park is narrow and they are hard dirt ..... But the park is nice, small lake in the middle of the main part of the park. Mostly permanents park there. We stayed two nights. Would stay again. - Travelin Jenkins
Jun 2014 - $17.00
Nice State Park with excellent (water front) access to the Housatonic River. Also has a few "rustic cabins" for $50 a night available, on excellent water front sites. Not "big rig" friendly, some areas (especially sites along the river) have a lot of trees that can make maneuvering difficult. Sites up by camp office are a little easier for RVs to get into. Campsites in general are pretty good size. There are supposed to be a couple water faucets available where I believe you can fill a water tank, but we didn't see them. Camp staff told us a dump station is available, but off site, and we didn't see it as we didn't need it. Camp staff are polite, friendly, and helpful. Bathrooms are "state park clean", and the bathroom buildings have one shower each in them. Bathrooms also have a couple large sinks for cleaning dishes. Great campground for semi-rustic camping. Lots of fishermen and the river has great fishing. Also, just down the road is access to the Appalachian Trail, with a neat, quick loop hike - Pine Knob Loop Trail, about 2.5 hour hike with some climbing. - Tom
Oct 2015 - $50.00
Picked this place because it was the closest one from my place of origin. Internet good, but site was uneven, on grass, no clear lines of delineation. Never found the restrooms. Several run-down buildings. For the price, NOT worth it! - NFRS
Sep 2014 - $25.00
$25 is PPA rate. The campground was nice and getting better. Under new management and they are putting some money in it. The views were great, but not very close to the highway (10 miles). There are a few full timers, plenty of sites. Sites are not very level (pull-through). Would like to stay again for a few days. - bbnh2000
Jun 2014 - $40.00
Pricy for what's provided even with PA, but much cleaner than others nearby. Spent most of the time in nearby towns as there's a lot to see in the area. We were in a pull through and never had anyone next to us in four days. - Walt Bennett
