Price reflects Thousand Trails "Trails Collection" add-on, so it was "free". Our stay didn't start out well even though I had called and emailed to let them know about our size. The map we were given had our route marked, but it was wrong and led us to approach from the wrong side. Turns to get to the right approach were extremely tight. After much back and forth we finally got into our pull-through site, which we were told at the office was 80' long. It was NOT. We measured it at 58' optimistically. Site 671 was well-treed, which allowed for privacy but not much room to move around - we couldn't even use both sides of the picnic table, as it had to be pushed into the bushes just so we could get out the front door. After riding our bicycles around the entire park we spotted several sites that WERE 80' long and would have been much easier to get into and out of for us. Lucky for us we were able to park the truck in the field across the dirt road from our site - a big thanks to the security guy for saying it was OK! We were there during the Americade rally - didn't know that when booking - so there were motorcycles everywhere. We also have them, so that wasn't an issue, but the sites we could have fit into were empty but for a couple days on the weekend, probably requested by friends who wanted to stay together. Since kids were still in school it was considered pre-season, so a lot of the amenities were still being prepared. The upcoming Father's Day weekend looked like the big start, for kids at least. The shower building closest to us wasn't very clean, although the bathrooms were. The showers in the office building looked very clean, but with FHU we didn't need them. Cable TV was nice and worked well. Lots of mosquitoes, and ants. Bring your spray! The whole Lake George area is designed for tourists, but if you go off the main road you can find some gems. Wonderful roads for riding, with beautiful scenery everywhere. We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Find The Docksider at Glen Lake, it's well worth it. Enjoy your cold beverage from an Adirondack chair looking at the lake. Good comfort food at Shelby's Four Corners Cafe near Northville. Americade - REALLY?!? Charges $20 per person to access the VENDOR area so you can spend more money. Not good enough for that, never again. Charges for everything, including self-guided rides. Spend your money on a Butler map and find your own way, there's tons of great riding and quaint little towns.

One of the best in New York State, pavilion always active, lots of stuff for the kids, safe. Excellent main building, store and check-in. 5-miles from center attraction of Lake George Village. They run a shuttle for people that may be campsite-bound. Typically sold out on holiday weekends and priced accordingly. If you can get there once or twice a year it should be on your list. We liked the park very much and will be back again. We went for the Car show in August and had a great time. We only stayed 2 nights but decided to stay longer the next time to take advantage of all that the area has to offer. We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Campground was very clean and well kept. It was early Fall which is very close to the end of the season so the camp store shelves were a bit bare. Our site was a little small but easily navigated and level. There was some debris left in the fire ring from previous campers. There was a "Town-wide" yard sale going on during this weekend so the campground was at capacity. Utilities worked as expected and there were quite a few cable TV channels provided.

Interior roads are a mix of gravel and dirt but were very easy to navigate. We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very large Encore park. Check-in was efficient, staff was friendly and accommodating. Internal roads were a little bumpy but ok at the 5mph posted speed. Hookups were fine at our site which was very private with trees on both sides of us so we didn't use window shades in living area of the coach. We had a nice field across from us with picnic tables we used for lunch when friends visited. They had a nice pool we didn't use and looked like things for kids to do too. We will absolutely stay here again if in the area! We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This is handy to Lake George and the Adirondacks. Recommend driving north to Whiteface Mountain and going up the auto road to the top for beautiful 360 degree views to Montreal, Burlington, Lake Placid and more. Prospect Mountain in Lake George is worth a drive up too. Many stores, Walmart, outlets, grocery within 10-15 minutes. Farmers market right in Warrensburg on Fridays. Great place to stay for the Adirondack Balloon festival in late September followed by some leaf peeping.

Overall Rating:

Huge park with 800 sites. Easy to reach from the highway exit. Overpriced unless you want to use all the "camp" style amenities, most of which are for kids (and most of which cost extra). On site restaurant serving surprisingly good pizza and full bar open on weekends. We stayed in a 39' RV and had no trouble getting into our site which was level and big enough for 2 motorhomes. Gravel and grass base. Fires are allowed and smoke can be bothersome depending on wind direction. Looks to be virtually all travel trailers and tent campers. Super busy on weekends or for special events, quiet otherwise. Grounds were clean and well kept, and long-term residents all kept their sites clean and tidy.

No satellite access from our site and I doubt any site had a clear sky view through the trees. No free wifi but commercial provider charging $9.95/day. Water pressure was good; water was cold. Surprisingly quiet at night for a park this large, but we could hear the highway traffic. Other sites would hear nothing or even more than we did depending on where the site was located. Rental golf carts available and a fairly well-stocked store at entrance. I would probably look at other options before staying here again especially for the price. We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy RV diesel access just across highway on exit 23. Town of Lake George is 10 minutes away. The town is not very interesting, mostly t-shirt shops and burger restaurants. Go a little further to Glens Falls and see outlet shops, better restaurants, and more activities including Six Flags.

Tight sites but TONS to do for the kids. Camp store well stocked. Bath and shower situation was excellent--clean and reasonably private. Park can not accommodate big rigs: sites are way too small. They should combine sites but they would never do that. Roads full of potholes.

Power goes out. No wifi.

Was looking for a seasonal place but rates are insane: seasonals are like $6K, where you can go elsewhere for far less.

The pool area is too small and full. They have gotten too big and I have a feeling its going to backfire. If you like over priced, small sites: this is the place for you. We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This park is not big rig friendly. It appears trees are not trimmed above 10 feet. Interior roads are twisty, dirt, and full of potholes . Difficult to get a big rig in and out of the camping sites. They said our site was satellite accessible. It was not. I doubt if any are. The place is heavily treed. There was cable. No internet except at the main office area (though they say they are building connections to serve the camping spots) Convenient to Lake Place and Ft. Ticonderoga (both about 60 miles away) and to the village of Lake George (which isn't worth visiting unless you want to go the beach or the amusement park). So very disappointed. We planned for 10 days here, but when we arrived they had us in a site we could not fit in. The one other site that was available had electrical issues and our power management kept kicking our electric off due to low voltage.

The maintenance fellow came and confirmed that there is indeed low voltage in this campground and that one of the boxes actually caught fire from overheating.

There are 575 sites here and they have packed them in here regardless of the electrical issues.

Again, very disappointed as we had hoped to visit this area as we have never been here. Getting a reservation last minute in this area is next to impossible.

The roads are narrow and trees on both sides, even still we would have liked to have stayed.

If you are not a kid person, this is not the campground for you as they are everywhere. Nice to see them outside playing.

We left after one night so we cannot comment on the amenities. Without electric in an all electric unit, we cannot stay and risk ruining our rv.

If you have a smaller unit with no management system you may love this place, bigger 50amp units beware. We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Did not care for the campground. We arrived Midweek and were put in the back away from all facilities and activities, close to highway. There were plenty of open sites with shade but suspected that they were reserved for the weekend so I did not complain. Noticed when we left that some of those same sites were still available, I wondered why we were placed in such a bad location. Received an email stating I should have called instead of using online registration. I think they had an idea of where I was going regardless. They also said I should have requested another site but that means repacking. I just drove 5.5 hours to get here, now I have to repack and move because they couldn't give me a better site in the first place?? We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at the Lake George Escape RV Park. We made reservations three weeks in advance, and were careful to tell the representative that our Fifth Wheel is 13' 4" tall, and 41 feet long. We were assured that we would not have any issues (when speaking with the person making the reservation and a follow-up call to the campround office), with the interior roads or trees/branches, and that the site assigned to us, was long enough for our RV and Truck. Our first indication of trouble, was when we followed the campground's website directions from Route 87.... One of the roads had a weight capacity of 5 Tons (we assume that most full timer's rigs exceed that). Also, just before the campground entrance, is a bridge underpass with no height signs. In order to safely pass under, we had to travel very slowly on the shoulder, and still were close to hitting our roof air conditioner. When we went to the check in, and mentioned the road weight restriction and underpass, the employees indicated that we were only the first customers to mention the road weight restriction, and the second to mention the underpass height. Neither of these issues were mentioned in their directions. We asked to be taken to see our site, before we drove in with the rig. I asked what height the tree branches were cut to, and the employees did not have an answer. The tree branches that were over the interior road were at height of 10 feet (our estimate). The employees did try to find another site that could accommodate our rig, but the roads to this second site, also had low hanging branches, and the road width was tight. We observed that most of the rigs that were in the campground were significantly lower in height in shorter in length. We were refunded our money, and left through the exit (which also had one low hanging branch). We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is NOT big rig friendly. Anyone with an RV over 10' tall should only consider sites closer to the office, since those roads appeared to be better trimmed and wider.

Did a quick mid week stay and they had plenty available. We caught the tail end of the fall foliage. Its a large camp ground and it was easy to ask for and receive a more secluded spot. We like privacy and could tell, by driving around, that they have many sites that afford that request. There are cabins but we didn't get to see one. There is a general store and several activity centers. We were only a couple, but could see where a family would enjoy staying here, not only for the attractions in the area, but the arcade and nature areas in the park to walk. Very large park with a large percentage of tent sites. We stayed in their most basic rental cabin and it had ample space for a family of 5. TV, fridge and a screen door were an added luxury. Pool is adjacent to a bar and a grill with very reasonable rates. Downside was it turned into a dance floor with a DJ who played extremely loud rap music until 10pm on weeknights. Our cabin was 30 yards away. Staff was extremely friendly. Camp store is large with a wide variety of offerings. We camped at Lake George Escape Camping Resort in a Cabin.

We stayed here while exploring the Lake George area. Our site was a nice pull through, with nice shade, but still a little bit of sun. All of the hookups were fine. When we arrived we found that all of the resort activities were still closed. The pool was under reconstruction, which was delayed because of the long winter, completely understandable. However, the grill was still closed as was the equipment rental area. We were told that most of the activity areas don't open up until July when the tourism season begins in the area. We expected more considering the Americade bike week was being held in Lake George and many of the campground visitors were there for that. The good is that it was a short drive into Lake George, which really is a beautiful little town. We would consider returning if in the area and when the activities are going on.
