This is a huge New York state park with several camping areas that are really spread out from each other. The campground with electricity is called the Bluff Camping Area. It is a wooded area on the top of a high bluff with a steep road going to it. Next to it on the bluff is the Lakeview Camping Area which overlooks Lake Ontario and has 2 electric sites on either side of the restrooms. The beautiful wide, long sand beach was about ½ mile from our campsite. There is a lovely pond (that is connected to the lake by a channel) with swans, ducks and geese and a place to rent or put in your small boat for paddling around. There is a boat launch on Little Sodus Bay (that borders the park) for boats that arrive on trailers and a dock for tying them up. There are cabins to rent here as well. The town of Fair Haven is very close to the park. Our site was large, and level and very shaded. We camped at Fair Haven Beach State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Fair Haven Beach was a beautiful spot, although we were somewhat bothered by extremely hungry insects. Our site (#79) was level, but slightly damp. Bathhouse was older, but well kept and the water for showers was plentiful and hot. It was a bit over a mile's walk from our site to the beach, but the walk was lovely. The only negative was that the "view" of Lake Ontario from the bluff area was mostly obscured by over-grown vegetation on the lake side of the chain-link fence. It would be nice if the park maintenance crew could cut the weeds down so that people could see the fantastic view. We camped at Fair Haven Beach State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

We got very lucky and reserved only days before the 4th of July weekend. We reserved the 3rd and 4th online, and were able to book the 5th when we arrived, so we had three wonderful nights there. There were plenty of places to walk - which we like to do - and then have ice cream at the park store next to the swimming beach. We would definitely camp at Fair Haven again, and regard it as one of the nicest parks in New York State. We camped at Fair Haven Beach State Park in a Truck Camper.Undo

This is a nice family campground and the town of Fair Haven is very lovely. The bathrooms are kind of clean but very buggy. We camped at Fair Haven Beach State Park in a Tent.Undo

We stayed here for 5 nights and wish it could have been more. There are three different camping areas. We chose to stay on the bluff that overlooks Lake Ontario. You sit up pretty high and are a little more open but have a tremendous view of the lake. There are only two electric only spots on the bluff and we were lucky to get one. The water spigot was across the street so no problem filling the holding tank although it took awhile because of low water pressure. The sites in the other two camping areas look to be a little close together so not sure if we would have rated it as high if we had stayed in another area. Restrooms were very handy and the showers were just a little walk through the woods. Both were very clean. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy. There are two huge beaches, a mile long pier that you can walk on, several playgrounds, hiking in the woods, hiking on the beach, hiking along the coastline, fishing, boat rentals, canoe rentals, and best of all golfing! The park owns it’s own golf course and it’s very reasonably priced. You must get a least one coney at the turn in the pro shop. One of the best parts about the golf course is there are no houses along the fairways. The course is challenging and scenic too. We had a great time and would camp here again in a heartbeat. Verizon air card worked OK for internet. We camped at Fair Haven Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

The site that we had was very shady however it was very unlevel..two feet off to be exact. We went back to the main office to complain however they didn't have another site available that would accommodate our TT. This location has a lovely beach for the kids and I would stay again but only if I was guaranteed a level site. We camped at Fair Haven Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo
Sites are small, and roads are very rough. Some of the sites are in strange spots, and tough to get into. We won't stay here again, there are too many other state parks within a close distance that rate higher in our books. We camped at Fair Haven Beach State Park in a camper.Undo
