We love this family run campground. We were here over Labor Day weekend. Our campsite was spectacular. We were overlooking the Schoharie Creek. Watched eagles fly by our campsite each morning. There are things to do in the area, hiking, near by water park and kayaking. The campground offers lots of activities for the kids and has a pool and many large water slides. We enjoyed tubing on the river. I would recommend this place to everyone. One draw back is in the primitive camping sites that (tents only) there was only pit toilets that needed a little bit of attention, but its not to far of a walk to bathhouse. We camped at Nickerson Park Campground in a Tent.

This is a very nice, rural campground on 100 acres of land along a small river. If you want to get away from the city, this one has it all...large sites with plenty of open space arranged in tiers above the river so you never get a sense of being in a huge campground. The are sites on the ridges, others in the woods, and some along the river, all primarily back in. There are good outdoors facilities including a large poor, volleyball, a play area, and video games. Nothing is paved and the level side-to-side is pretty good and the grass is in good shape. It is close to Mine Kill State Park and falls with a 2 mile hiking trail to there. The store, though small, includes local beers by the bottle! The negatives, which might be positives for those trying to get away, is that there is no TV and no Internet. One caution...the south entrance is blocked by a flood two years ago...enter off Rt 30. We camped at Nickerson Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Large campground with lots of seasonal campers. We were at the end of the season. Very few campers. Our site was level and nice in an open field. The bathhouse was new, because it was destruct in Hurricane Irene along with many campsites near the water. The campground owners were very friendly and helpful. We were able to pick up DishTV. We were passing through on our way home. Wish we had more time to explore the Catskill area. We would stop here again, if in the area. Sites were well spaced. We camped at Nickerson Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We were very impressed with the campground, we were greeted at check-in and thoroughly explained what all the activities and rules were in a very professional manner ! The store was exceptionally well stocked and reasonably priced. Without a doubt, i would have to say they offered the most family friendly camping experience I have ever seen. Each camping section has an open well groomed field with plenty of space for children to play while still within eyesight. The Wi-Fi is available at the store for free. The only reason we didn't give them a 10 is there was only one set of restrooms with flush toilets. There were plenty of privy's throughout the campground though if you don't mind that ! We will definitely be going back, hopefully this fall. We camped at Nickerson Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great family campground. The pool is small and the water was kind of salty, but the kids loved it. The creek is a big attraction, and my son had a great time there. The owners are very very nice, and so was everyone we met. There's a nice little town a few minutes' drive away, and we found the world's best ice cream at a place called macadoodle or something like that. It's a great place to relax, let the kids run and play and enjoy the beauty. We camped at Nickerson Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Our opinion of this park kept changing. First, we were disappointed that the river pictured on the website is a rocky stream bed for most of the time; the water level rises as the power company needs to generate hydroelectricity, but it's usually on Wednesday and Thursdays and even then only sections are swimmable (but nice). We were initially directed to a site that we could not maneuver our 30' trailer and 20' truck onto, so changed to a site on the edge of a huge field. This is a lovely, very large piece of property, with woods, cliffs, the river and lots of open space. It's therefore a hike to the one pool and one showerhouse from many sites. Many of the sites are seasonals, and permanent ones at that, although most are well-cared for. We were not pleased to find that the bathrooms are primitive outhouses, except for a few primitive flush toilets, and they are not in the same building as the showers, which were not clean the two times we used them. However, we would add that the new owners are making progress towards upgrading the whole place and are very friendly. We would probably not return but the campground is busy so obviously many people feel it is the place for them. Just be forewarned that it's a little rustic! Note: for a fun activity check out Secret Caverns - the place is a hoot! We camped at Nickerson Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
