After 2 short trial trips, this was our first real trip, going from Ohio to Maine. Our first weekend was a stop at Belden. Lo and behold, my husband drove off with our power cord still attached, which we noticed about 300 miles into the trip. So we arrived without one. I wish I could say his name, but the Manager went above and beyond for several hours, seeking all resources to find one for us. Being the weekend, all the RV places nearby were closed until Monday. That evening, he phoned to say he'd found one! Absolutely amazing! He was relentless in his quest to help us out. But it doesn't end there.....on our last day as we prepare to leave, we are loading the toad and run OVER the front of the tow dolly, completely disabling any movement, either by the car or the motorhome at this point. Again, the Mgr goes to great lengths to provide jacks, blocks, and whatever else was required to lift the front of the car enough to back it off the dolly and do it correctly. Hours on end this great man spent to take care of us. He certainly could've just been invisible, or unavailable, as other parks do. Yes, we found out that is pretty much the norm. Once you are checked in, you're on your own. Not so at Belden. It's a beautiful place, operated by a very kind soul. When we are ever even close to this area we would go out of our way to go back - although he may not ever want to see us again!!! LOL. I wish there was a higher rating as he certainly deserves it. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

First of all, it was a wet, muddy mess when we were there, but the owner can't do anything about that. We were put up in site 8 which had no sewer and was a big puddle of long gras and mud...again, not his fault. The park is in a very pretty setting, with 50 amp pull throughs in some places. Electric and water were good. Wifi didn't come in at site 8. We pulled into another site in the morning to dump because we couldn't make the sharp turn into the dump station. Decent OTA TV channels and fairly quiet...trains were far off. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at this super cute camp ground in April for a concert in Binghamton. Only the pull thru sites in the front of the campground were open but they were very spacious. The hosts were very friendly. The 6 pull thru sites were full for the night with snowbirds traveling back home. We met some very nice people. Hoping to get back here in the summer to enjoy the rest of the campground. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stay at this campground with some regularity as it is conveniently placed along any route heading west from our home base and it is good for a one or two-night layover. It is very easy access from I-88 with hard packed gravel entrance road and gravel sites. It can be a bit dusty if it has been dry but it was not a problem on this trip. We usually stay in the pull-through sites that are located in front of the office and next to the garage. We drive a 45-foot motorhome with a tow and are able to get into, through, and out of the CG with no difficulty. The front pull-through are mostly level with a bit of slope toward the highway but we were able to level with our jacks with no difficulty and all tires down. Sites are gravel with grass between and located fairly close together. There has been persistent rain prior to our arrival and the owner indicated they had been unable to mow many of the sites explaining grass that was quite high in our yard. Water and sewer at both ends of the site with 50-amp power to the middle. Power and water pressure was good. Sewer threaded and we used an extension to reach the rear access. There are small trees planted in the middle of the sites and the one just past our site has reached a size that will soon require pruning. We just nicked the small branches when getting into the site. Satellite and OTA reception was good, Wi-Fi was slow and erratic. We ended up using our Verizon hotspot for better service. We did not use the laundry, rest room, or cable so cannot comment on that. There is no defined dog park but there are acres of lawn for a relaxing walk with the dog or friends. There is a playground and swimming area but it was very early in the season for using either. Office staff efficient and helpful. The campground is quiet and peaceful and a lovely location with views of the hills to the south. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this campground several times and continue to enjoy it. Easy on and off I-88 with roads and sites that are gravel and a bit dusty due to lack of rain. Utilities worked well and internet was acceptable for easy surfing. We drive a 45ft MH with toad and were able to get into the campground, our site, and out of the campground with our car attached and with no difficulty. The grounds are really lovely and provide a nice area for a walk after a day of driving. We will stay here again if traveling in the area. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

We would stay here again. You can tell when you walk around that this campground used to be a destination when it was in its prime. You can just hear the whispers of camp stories as you walk around the 4 small ponds, play fields, camp store, overgrown trees, or community shelter. Although it is a nice little place to stay, much of it is dated or seen better days. The roads are rough and worn. Some sites are small and difficult to enter. There are a lot of seasonal RVs. We stayed in a Travel Trailer in the Seasonal section. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have children with you, any ages, you should visit the Animal Adventure Park, 85 Martin Hill Rd, Harpursville, NY 13787, Hours: 10 am - 5 pm, 12.99/adult; $10.99/child. It is a small zoo but you get to feed 75% of the animals including the infamous April, of YouTube fame. It is cash only but ATM on site. Go when it opens so the animals are hungry.

When we arrived at the Park my mom went in to register and was met by a newer employee who was quite pleasant. The owner came in and was quite the opposite, very short with everyone and rather rude. Now the park itself was clean and well taken care of. But if you need assistance with anything, good luck. The morning we were leaving we discovered our RV had a flat tire; being from Canada our cell phones did not work in the park. We went to the office to discover it wasn't open until 1pm, but the owner saw us outside and rudely asked us what we were doing. We explained about needing to use the phone to get someone to fix our tire and she very reluctantly allowed us to call a toll-free number. Her husband then came out and was just as unwelcoming as she was. Considering we were guests at the park, we would only assume that some sort of customer service be present. Luckily we were able to get our tire fixed and leave as we would not want to spend another night somewhere we weren't welcome. Our site was a good size; howeve,r another couple traveling with us was put in a pull-through RV site next to us, and had another RV gone into the spot next to them, there maybe would have been only 10 feet between the two RVs. Seems like it was once one site and they shoved in another electrical and sewer hookup in the middle to get more campers in. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

There is a wonderful restaurant a couple miles down the road (turn right out of the RV park, its 2ish miles down on the left) called the Hitchin' Post Tavern. Absolutely wonderful service and delicious food!

We were looking for a quiet place to spend Friday night of Memorial Day weekend and this is the place! Beautiful grassy meadows and beautiful views, out in front of a very nice family campground. We had a little difficulty getting here due to construction, but called ahead for directions. We only spent one night, and had full hookups and a pull-through site, which was just what we were looking for! The people are very pleasant, and we would happily stay here again. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

We were given a site on top of the hill for our overnight stay with a great view out our front window overlooking several ponds on the property and the Susquehanna River valley. Our gravel site required extending our front jacks almost to the point of raising the wheels off the ground, but was otherwise well laid out with easily accessible utilities. The free WiFi was adequate, but sometimes a bit erratic likely due to overloading. Our Verizon and T-Mobile signals were strong with good data speeds. Our site was quite open, making satellite reception easy. The campground owners are both very pleasant and check-in was simple and quick. We will stay here again when we're in the area. We stayed here 2 nights. It started to pour rain shortly after we arrived & didn't let up until almost time for us to leave. When it did stop I noticed what a pretty view we had. Our site was not very level but managable. Hook ups were fine. WiFi was so so. No cable. We were able to get satellite signal with no problem. The water pressure wasn't so great. The host was very friendly, they were having a pot luck the night we arrived. There are a lot of permanent campers but the sites are kept up well. This was a good place for a stop over but there is nothing much anywhere around to do or see. Restaurants are almost non existent, no shopping either. When we left we headed west & the city of Binghampton about 20 miles southwest had lots of restaurants & shopping. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.
