After October 15th there are not many choices for camping. End of Season. This campground was open until end of October. We had no issues with getting our big rig into our spot. We were in the A section up front. I'm not sure I could say the same in summer - it would be a lot more difficult to manuver with all the sites full. Our site was plenty long enough for RV & car. We used the cable which had an excellent picture. Too many trees for satellite. Didn't use their wifi. Cell reception was great. Unfortunately we didn't realize that everything closes after October 15th - so it's a little bit of a ghost town in Lake George. Shops & restaurants closed in downtown area. But we still managed to find some charming restaurants (Log Jam) and enjoyed the fall leaves. Our site was gravel but other than that it was grass and because of the rains it was a little muddy but not too bad. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

NEW CAMPERS AND BIG RIG OWNERS BEWARE!!!! As my wife, son and I excitedly arrived to King Phillips Campground for our first time to join our parents for the Labor Day weekend, we were checked in for a site that was not our original reservation. Even the manager rolled his eyes in question the newly assigned site. On July 6th, I had been told I would be placed in section "C" over the phone after I had described that I drove a Freightliner truck and had a 40' 5th wheel camper. My parents were also questioning why we weren't in the section that even THEY were told we were going to be in 7 hours earlier. I was trying to follow the lead of the parking escort who guaranteed me there would be no issues fitting into the new site. I proceeded to try to park in the spot as directed by the parking escort when my truck and trailer began to slide down the road into a tree. After backing down the road and going to the office to tell them what had happened, they offered me another site that would involve me having to drive down the same steep slippery hill. I declined and asked about being placed in the section "C" which now had a 36' Motorhome in it. Also, the 2 sites next to it were empty. I was told they could not move the people soon to arrive from these empty sites (although they had NO issues moving us!). This left us no option other than to drive 2 ½ hours back home and leave our family members behind, ruining our family camping weekend. After numerous attempts to contact the owner, he finally returned my call 24 hours after this occurred. This is NOT the behavior of a professional business owner. He obviously did not even care this happened and offers no resolution for damages created by his staff and their not honoring our reservation. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 4 nights in a site for big rigs. The site we had lacked gravel and when it rained our pad turned into a mud pit. Is it that hard to put a little gravel down on the dirt? We did notice the sites in the very front of the park did have a good amount of gravel and were level. There are a lot of full-time residents in this park, sometimes when you have this many full-time residents the park gets a little trashy, but this park is very clean. If you have a dog, there are plenty of areas to walk your pet. This park is located in a quiet area. If we were to go back we would only stay in the front part of the park. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

This was a return visit, as it was so enjoyable the year before. We requested our previous site and they accommodated us. Everything is clean and neat. Proximity to Town is a mile or 2. Only complaint is wifi is slow...I got better speed with 4g...but other than that we will be back again next August. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here 4 nights in July 2018. Our first site was at the very top of the hill at a very unlevel site and barely long enough to fit our 34 foot motorhome. On the second day we asked to be moved to a pull through site down near the pool/office area. The trash dumpster is in an awkward location near the office and no parking without blocking incoming and outgoing traffic. Internet connection was not good. Beware because check in time is 2:00. NO EARLY CHECK INS, even though check out time is 11:00 am. We arrived at 11:30 and were told we could not stay there. Thankfully one of the staff was in the parking lot and he told us where a nearby school was where we could unhook the car. At 2:00 the small parking lot was full of campers trying to register. In my opinion it would be better to allow campers to enter their sites early if it is available. Would not stay here again. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

Busy place, just starting up the season and bike week. Facilities were all well maintained, though venting for the dryers could be better. Trash drop off is inconvenient near the front requiring crossing the land of incoming traffic. Staff friendly and helpful, camp store nice. WiFi was slow, cell signal weak. LOTS of mosquitos and bugs. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice rv park just south of Lake George nestled in the trees, though there are some sites in the farther reaches that are satellite friendly. Utilities worked, wifi was ok, relatively quiet (though, to be fair, this was the off-season - all the signs indicated that the rv park and the surrounding area might become a zoo during the peak of the season!) We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a large campground and we were toward the end of the season. Our site was very unlevel, side to side. The wifi was there, but so slow as to be unusable. I couldn't even LISTEN to the last game of the ALCS. Won't be staying here again. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It was at the tail end of the balloon festival so it was quite busy. It is great proximity to the Outlet Malls and downtown (trolley was provided). There are many seasonal/permanent residents who for the most part keep their areas tidy. During season there are plenty of things to do in the area. We would stay again. This park was absolutely beautiful. Everything about it, including the bathrooms were kept impeccably clean. There was much to do around the campground. The trolleys take you everywhere you need to go for $1 each way. I would definitely stay at this park again and recommend it to everyone. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Tent.

Most are very spacious sites, our A18 was one of them. Most are paved roads, split rail fences around many sites with grass & trees for shade. Hanging flower baskets throughout. Lots of showers for this big park. Close to Lake George and tons of tourist activities. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Farmers Market on Main road through Lake George has lots of fresh and unique vegetables. Tomatillos are delicious. Adirondack Winery nice wines, 7 dollars to taste 7 wines and keep the wine glass with their name on it. What we didn't do but looked fun: Steamboat rides & parasailing on lake. If Kids, bring your pocketbook for watermarks, rides, mini golf and more. Kid friendly.

King Phillips is a large campground with many camping loops. Some loops are shady, some are in deep woods on a hill, others are in open fields. Your site is assigned when you check in, although you can request a specific loop. At least half the sites are seasonal campers who return every year. The regulars have elaborate landscaping with lights, patios, and flower gardens, which gives the campground a lovely atmosphere. Short term sites are sprinkled among the seasonal renters. Pool, laundry, and campstore are located in the front of the property, a short walk from any loop. Bath houses and playgrounds are close to every loop. Trolley service to Lake George Village is across the street and reliable. This was our second visit to King Phillips, and we like how close the CG is to shopping and downtown. King Phillips is typical of other lake resorts in NY, where seasonal campers enhance their sites and form strong communities. We always feel welcome here, and locals are friendly and happy to give you site seeing tips. We enjoyed our stay and would return again. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

We made our reservations 6 months in advance and told them we were 40 ft but when we got there they put us up at the top where sites were not big enough and they were unlevel. Did not enforce quiet time or the no fireworks rule. Very expensive for terrible sites. Would not go back. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Good Sam discount for a one night stay at a 30 amp, pull-through site. The park layout is quite confusing, the roads are narrow, and escort service was not provided. We did find a maintenance worker and asked him to lead us to our site. Though it was a challenge to get to the site, we were pleased once we were settled. We had good Verizon cell/MiFi reception. There was no satellite reception because of the trees. We would not stay here again for an overnight stay, but might stay again for a multi-night stay.
