King Phillips is a large campground with many camping loops. Some loops are shady, some are in deep woods on a hill, others are in open fields. Your site is assigned when you check in, although you can request a specific loop. At least half the sites are seasonal campers who return every year. The regulars have elaborate landscaping with lights, patios, and flower gardens, which gives the campground a lovely atmosphere. Short term sites are sprinkled among the seasonal renters. Pool, laundry, and campstore are located in the front of the property, a short walk from any loop. Bath houses and playgrounds are close to every loop. Trolley service to Lake George Village is across the street and reliable. This was our second visit to King Phillips, and we like how close the CG is to shopping and downtown. King Phillips is typical of other lake resorts in NY, where seasonal campers enhance their sites and form strong communities. We always feel welcome here, and locals are friendly and happy to give you site seeing tips. We enjoyed our stay and would return again. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

Most are very spacious sites, our A18 was one of them. Most are paved roads, split rail fences around many sites with grass & trees for shade. Hanging flower baskets throughout. Lots of showers for this big park. Close to Lake George and tons of tourist activities. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Farmers Market on Main road through Lake George has lots of fresh and unique vegetables. Tomatillos are delicious. Adirondack Winery nice wines, 7 dollars to taste 7 wines and keep the wine glass with their name on it. What we didn't do but looked fun: Steamboat rides & parasailing on lake. If Kids, bring your pocketbook for watermarks, rides, mini golf and more. Kid friendly.

This park was absolutely beautiful. Everything about it, including the bathrooms were kept impeccably clean. There was much to do around the campground. The trolleys take you everywhere you need to go for $1 each way. I would definitely stay at this park again and recommend it to everyone. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Tent.

We made our reservations 6 months in advance and told them we were 40 ft but when we got there they put us up at the top where sites were not big enough and they were unlevel. Did not enforce quiet time or the no fireworks rule. Very expensive for terrible sites. Would not go back. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cons: tragic free WiFi, not enough hooks in shower area, $7 for 7 pieces of dry firewood, bikers party not shut down during quiet time, charges for extra children beyond 2 adults Pros: clean showers, clean bathrooms, very close to all attractions & trolley, well maintained sites, inexpensive laundry. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Saw the bad review in July. Our experience was satisfactory. Spent two nights here. They advertise on really clean restrooms and they were new and spotless. Mostly seasonal. Map is bad. Most roads end in cul-de-sacs. Our site was large, level. Water pressure was very good. WiFi everywhere is spotty, because of so many users, but ours was mostly OK. Transients are put in fairly accessible sites. Staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. I booked via phone but was never sent an e-mail confirmation. They replied confirmations often go to spam and Google has not worked with them to fix the problem. I never saw it in my spam, so do not know. We would stay here again. It is closest to Lake George Village. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Good Sam discount for a one night stay at a 30 amp, pull-through site. The park layout is quite confusing, the roads are narrow, and escort service was not provided. We did find a maintenance worker and asked him to lead us to our site. Though it was a challenge to get to the site, we were pleased once we were settled. We had good Verizon cell/MiFi reception. There was no satellite reception because of the trees. We would not stay here again for an overnight stay, but might stay again for a multi-night stay. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

Our worst experience in over a year of full-time travel. The rudest staff that we have ever encountered. We made reservations 9 months in advance for July 4th weekend for a pull- through site with full hook-ups and 50 amp service. When we checked in, we were told that we would need to disconnect our tow car and were then taken to a site that was too short for our 40 ft motorhome without the toad in an open parking area next to the basketball court with a foot of dead grass between sites and not a tree or landscaping in sight. We then realized that it was a 30 amp site. When we contacted the office, they blatantly said that it was our fault, we must have not asked for a bigger site or 50 amp service. Their "deluxe RV sites" are any sites with electric and sewer. Amazingly, not one person apologized. We demanded a refund and left as we would not pay $61 for that dump. The roads are narrow, the sites are packed. This is the first park that I have rated less than a 6. Please go somewhere else and don't give these people more business. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

Just a one night stay. This is the closest park to town and the shuttle/trolley picks you up & takes you to town or the beach or the massive outlets for a buck right in front of the park. Full blown amusement park next door and nice pool so this is definitely kid friendly.

Good cable and spotty wifi. Our site was narrow and uneven and part mud/part gravel. Bathrooms were clean if not modern.

Would stay here again for the convenience. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

Big Rigs, be careful about where they want to park you. If you are over 32', I would definitely ask to be placed in sections A, H or I. If they put you in another section, go check out the site before you agree to that spot. Walk to it, if you have to. The park map is terrible. You can get lost very easily, if you have never been in the park before. The park needs to provide escorts for people that have never been in the park. The campground map is that bad. We were lucky and got a pull thru site H-21. It has a lot of tree canopy, so if you don't want pine needles on your rig, ask for section A. Our site was very flat. They were having trouble with a water leak the first 2 days, but it got fixed on Monday. They wanted to put us in T-20, but we are pulling a 38' 5th wheel and when we went to look at it, it would have been very difficult to get into and almost impossible to get out of. To get to the site, was up a steep hill, (a short one, but steep) a sharp left turn (it would have been difficult to make that turn) then into the site that they claim is a pull thru, but if someone is camping in front of you, it is no longer a pull thru. Just be careful and look at the site before you pull your rig to it. Otherwise, this is a fantastic campground. There are a lot of seasonals, but they are all friendly. The staff in the office is wonderful. They are very knowledgeable about the area and there is a lot of information in the office. If is within walking distance to the trolley stop. The trolley will take you to Lake George, the outlet mall and even farther north and down into Glens Falls. Saratoga Springs is about 30 minutes away. The Adirondack mountains are close. Lake Placid is about 45-55 minutes and a beautiful drive. The campground has a nice pool (lots of children in summer months), a gaming room, a small laundry. They had some activities. The store at the office had a lot of offer. The fire wood was high at $7.00 a bundle and not seasoned. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake. It is worth the trip and plan on spending the whole day. From Lake George, it is about an hour and then we spent at least 4 hours there.

Take the trolley when you can around the area. It cost $1.00 for each person or $0.50 for seniors. The cost to park is more.

Go on a boat cruise of Lake George.

When making the reservation over the phone, our campsite was described by the clerk as "a level, gravel back-in full hookups with 50 amp power". What we got was a grass and mud back-in with 30 amp power. It was large enough to handle our large RV-- one of three or four in the RV park that can handle a large motorhome and also has room enough on the interior roads to maneuver into the site. We had disregarded previous comments concerning the same problems with being promised one type of site and upon arrival finding a much different scenario.

If you do stay at this campground: disconnect before you get to the campground. We were fortunate that nobody was also checking in when we got there-- there is only room for one RV at the check-in building and others have to wait on the road. By the time we completed check-in, there were two fivers sitting on the roadway waiting to turn in. The road has a moderate amount of traffic and a very small shoulder-- not large enough to park on, so you will be sitting in the traffic lane under those circumstances. We would never stay here again. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice base for exploring the area. Very clean, good hookups, free WiFi that works. Gravel/grass. We had a great site I-2. Lots of room, shade and a large front yard. This is a large campground with lots of seasonal sites. Everyone friendly. Busy and lots of traffic on the weekends. Would definitely stay here again. We have stayed here for years and have always been happy. The staff is friendly, courteous and customer service oriented. The facility is clean and neat, the sites are each to get to and the site are always clean. Lake George provides a great shopping, eating, and vacationing experience, from mini golfing, to the great history of lake George. Lots of outlet stores to get great deals with. The only criticism is that the camping store is small and the price of wood is high. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This campsite is in the tourist area of Lake George near to many attractions, amusement parks and outlet shopping. We used it as a base for seeing the stunning Adirondack Mountains. Our site was one of the better ones being a pull thru and level with gravel standing and grass between sites and could accommodate our 36ft rig ok although the entrance road to the site was a a bit tight. It's easy access from the 1-87 but no highway noise. Wifi was good except late evening when I guess everyone is logged on. Cable TV good. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I think our price included a a premium for being here during a BIG car show.
They have a late check-in time but they accommodated us because our site was empty - just be aware of the check-in time.
Very convenient location to Lake George Village and the many Outlets in the other direction.
Our site was spacious, but cannot say anything about the rest of the campground because we were near the entrance. We had our neighbors gazebo about a foot away from our driver-side slide, but fortunately no one was there. Other sites we saw near us were pretty nice, but not private.
Wifi was very hard to get logged into. It often took us 15-30 minutes to connect and then it was often very slow.
Cable TV was good. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Motorhome.
