As others have said, the man owner is very nice. Old fashioned operation, requested cash, nothing computerized. Three of us stayed 4 nights. The owners seem tired and older and the entire place needs maintenance and TLC. Some sites had no numbers posted. We were crammed in next to a 5th wheel that was not backed in, so their awning, table were practically eyeball to eyeball with us. Sites are not laid out with any sense of order. Some are straight, others diagonal, not sure where one site ended and another started. No real room for us to pitch our screen room. WiFi very spotty. 95% guests look seasonal. Many unkept trailers, at least one with blue tarp, though no troublemakers. Pool had no chairs. Needed vacuum and skimming & liner coming loose in corner. Bathhouses are RUSTIC. Rough cut siding, much of it rotting.

Old amenities from a prior time, i.e., a cafe that we didn't see, the store has very little, so buy all you need before you leave home. It was quiet at night and easy to find. Good value for the price. Washer and dryers were great.

This is not Disneyland and I didn't expect it to be, but I sort of expected it to be like the website described. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Approx 3 miles away is small deli/store with delightful women working there. Some prepared food. Convenient to Northway, exit 32. Not convenient to Lake Placid. A good ten miles to Essex with ferry, couple restaurants, Lake Champlain.

It is a rustic Adirondack campground. The Owners have been running it for 25 yrs and are getting on and the weather hasn't been much help lately. But I stayed there with 2 dogs. They treated me very nicely and the place was very quiet and nice. Typical Adirondack sandy soil and big pine trees. Shower was $0.25 for approx 6 minutes. Plenty of time. Temperature adjustable. I stayed in an Aframe trailer and drove through to my back in site. :-). Nothing really close, but 30 minutes away is a lot. Ferry to Vermont is only 10 miles and only $10 per car. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Close to some of the nicest hiking spots, especially the Fire towers on Hurricane and Poko-moonshine mountains. They don't like credit cards, especially with the Passport America Discount. Understandable.

The park is beginning to show some wear and tear. I can imagine in the 80's it was quite lovely. The couple that owns it are delightful. Many of the campers are seasonal Canadians who must come down frequently on the weekends from the Montreal area. It was extremely quiet during our stay during the weekdays. Sites are large with electric (plenty of amperage), sewer (worked perfectly) and water. There are several 150 square-foot cabins for rent too.

The location is nice if you are interested in getting into the High Peaks to do some hiking or sight seeing.

The campground has a little camp store that has some odds and ends, ice and firewood.

We have a well-equipped fifth wheel and I'm not big on amenities, so for us this was quite lovely. Don't expect luxury and you'll be just fine. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is not a resort but if you want a true, quiet and peaceful experience under the tall Adirondack pines this is the place for you. Located only 5 easy miles from Exit 32 off I-87/Adirondack Northway. Nice pool, free WiFi, friendly owners. Pull-through & back-ins, FHU. Laundromat and propane sales. Small parts store. Nice tenting area as well.We stayed the entire Summer Season but rate reflects Passport America price per night. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring your food as the closest supermarket or restaurant is at least a half hour away. Three-quarters of the camprground is made up of friendly Seasonals. Not a lot of activities as a resort has but a great place to sit, read, enjoy a campfire and each other.

We had an excellent service, we liked the smell of the pines, it was quiet at the beginning of the season as we went during the week, we appreciated everything and we want to go back. We were there for 3 days, the cabin, the bathroom and everywhere was clean. The cabin is in front of the bathroom. My wife and I liked the cabin with the small fridge the microwave and the coffeemaker included. We played at the rebuild minigolf, it was fun and it is at no cost. The owners, a couple are friendly and do all they can to please the customers. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Cabin.

We didn't go out much, we only went at Vaughan's a convenient store at 3.2 miles from the campground, they have ATM machine, they sell ice cream and they cook, it's a good place. Stop at Plattsburgh at about 25 minutes from Magic Pines. Good pizza at Pizza Hut. Shopping at Walmart and good coffee at Starbucks

If you like the smell of the pines, this is a good place for you. We rented a cabin for 3 days and were satisfied. Very few mosquitoes, clean everywhere, owners nice, miniature golf was rebuilt, we will go back. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Cabin.

We stayed here as Passport America members. We asked if they would honor the discount for two nights since they were not full (one night is allowed). We were told no, which was to our benefit as I don't think we could have stayed here two nights. The owners were very nice in person and seemed to be happy to have us. But our site, while long enough, was too narrow to put chairs out with the slides out too. A lot of maintenance needs to be done, such as weed eating around the sites, cutting some limbs, etc. The pool looked nice, but a lot of debris was on the bottom. The water did look clear though. It was too cool to use the pool when we were there. The mini golf and tennis courts needed some updating, too. This campground is too far from anything if you plan on going to places as a tourist. It was 30 miles to the nearest place we could find. There was not even a nearby store or restaurant. Although they do have a grill on site, it is only open Thur-Sat. The roads are some kind of white dirt, and it was very dusty and tracked in lots of dirt. I think this campground does have potential and is OK for stopping over if needed. It is only about 10 miles from the NY-VT ferry. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Motorhome.

Good location. This park has tons of potential but is just let go. Needs new blood to get it up and running properly. Had to sit in main building to get Wi-Fi. Very friendly owners who simply need help in bring life to this campground. Tennis and miniature golf tired and worn. Cobwebs in bathrooms and just not up to par. Had easy pull in sites and beautiful scenery. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Motorhome.

We have Passport America and believe me this park is not worth more than the $13 a night we paid. Sites not level. They advertise wi-fi, however the antenna is inside their house with no reception unless you sit at the picnic table by the office. We only stopped here because we had been on the road so long, and we were very tired, we didn't even unhook. The people were nice though, but this place needs a serious cleaning and leveling. Tons of mosquitoes. We camped at Magic Pines Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
