1 Park near Newfield, New York
May 2016 - $55.00
This is the most convenient private FHU CG near Ithaca, NY. It is not well suited for big rigs and access for big rigs is difficult from RT13. You should avoid NY RT 327. It has a hairpin turn, an 8% and 6% grades. There are only two pull through sites. While wide enough for the MH you stepped off in to grass. The sites are uneven front to back and the lack of width makes accessing your steps on a slope. Two channels OTA TV. We were able to hit the Direct satellite for reception. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. With a smaller rig TT or C this would be a great park. They appear to be upgrading the electrical system in several areas. - wdw
Aug 2015 - $43.00
This park was relatively close to Ithaca, which was mainly why we chose it. There is a steep and windy (10MPH in some spots) road that leads up to it from town, so be aware. The lady checking us in was very helpful, switching us to a 50 amp site that we hadn't been scheduled for. The reason for the average rating was that there was no WiFi, no cable TV, and no local TV reception. It sounds like WiFi is in the works (and possibly Cable TV as well), but it wasn't up and running during our visit. This is a very large and spacious RV park, and the setting is very much like a park. Dead quiet - great for sleeping. - coffeetime
Jul 2015 - $34.00
This is a pretty park with pleasant management. The park itself is huge , with large amount of open space. The ambiance leads us to give the 8 rating; otherwise we would probably rate it as a 7. The negatives: satellite TV is blocked by trees at most of the 50-amp sites; Verizon telephone service is poor and tends to cut in and out. The park has Internet service but it is a bit slow. The positives: the general layout and the natural beauty of the area; although we did not use the pool, it looked very nice.
Our rate included the Good Sam discount. Rates are higher on holiday weeks. There is a surcharge for electricity usage, payable at the end of the stay. - hoppytoad
