Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $29.00
Beautiful view of Lake Ontario. Staff was warm and welcoming. Good wifi, & cable. We would walk across the road for ice cream and the most fabulous sunsets you can imagine. Definitely will return. We camped at Sunset RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
This was a nostalgia stay for me. I had stayed here, in their small Cabins, back in the early 80's during a trip to the Syracuse Dirt Modified race. To my surprise the Campground was still there.
We stayed here one night in a 30 amp, water, sewer back-in site that was right across the street from Lake Ontario. All the utilities worked well, including the WiFi. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
While the Campground is small, mostly grass sites (level) it's big plus is it's location and the fantastic Sunsets across Lake Ontario.
As another person mentioned, there is no beach or boardwalk, but there are a number of picnic tables across the street along the shore at an Ice Cream Stand and grass areas to take your own chairs to watch the sun set.
We will return in the future. We camped at Sunset RV Park in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
Watch the sunset across Lake Ontario ..... right across the street
We stayed here just for one night and would stay again if in the area. We liked the quietness at night and the value for money (rate is for full hookup back-in site). Very friendly staff. We were guided to our site. Lots of room to manoeuvre when backing in. Site (gravel) was perfectly level and hookups easily accessable. Little privacy. On the way in you pass the cabins which date back to the 30's and look very rundown while the pool looks like brand new and very clean. Lake Ontario is just across the street. Unfortunately there is no beach or boardwalk to stroll along. We camped at Sunset RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
