Overall Rating:

This campground is easy to reach and any updated GPS will take you right to the entrance driveway. The driveway in is paved with no overhanging trees. This is mainly a seasonal park with different sites for transients, so if you're thinking of staying here call first and make sure they have a space for you. The park is well groomed and well taken care of. The campground owner and host are fantastic and extremely helpful. The roads in the park and access to the transient spots are narrow but there are no overhanging trees. The transient sites are mixed in that some are gravel, some are grass. They are also mixed in terms of being level. Some are great, others not so. The section we were in was an odd one. Pedestals were shared so one rig pulled in, the one next to it would have to back in. Our site #85 I had to go in the wrong way in order to hook up, if I didn't I would have needed at least 40 feet of sewer hose to hook up. So, I just ran everything under the coach to the hookups and had no issues. Of course, this way I could not use the picnic table nor the fire ring. We had no shade at all. In this section either site 86 or 88 would be a better choice. Good over the air TV. Verizon cell service was good but the wifi using the Hot Spot was iffy. We would stay here again but would be a bit more particular about our site. We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

In Ovid there is a nice laundromat and a great ice cream store around the corner from it. Do the wine trail if you can and you like wine. Watkins Glen is close by and there are lunch and supper cruises on Seneca Lake offered by Captain Bill's plus a bunch of other things to do. Walmart, Home Depot, etc. are in Auburn which is about 30 minutes north and east of the campground

Friendly managers. Large, open, well kept, grassy area making for a nice view. Restrooms are located in a bath house and were primitive and not very clean. Concrete block with lots of stains or mold. The wifi was consistent but slow. Nothing special here and I don't think much else is available in the area. We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Motorhome.

We have camped here several times. It is convenient to wineries. Located on the west side of Cayuga and short drive to the east side of Seneca. We were greeted by the owner who checked us in. We received delicious loaf of Amish bread and were thanked for our Firefighter service. 50's have shade 60's are in the open. They have several cabins and travel trailers they rent out and most are pet friendly. We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We came here to do the wineries. Very convenient to many. There is a public boat launch on Cayuga 3 miles north. All the wineries on the Cayuga wine trail are pet friendly also.

Large family run campground in Ovid which is in the heart of wine country in the Fingerlakes region. The grounds were mowed but beds were overgrown and area surrounding the buildings was cluttered. There is an old cemetery within the campground. We didn't use the showers; the restrooms were fairly clean but somewhat primitive and had an odor despite being cleaned daily. Our site was level, water pressure was adequate and fire rings were provided. Wifi was good and free. We could not get any television stations while there. No discounts were available when we were there in July. We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice private campground. Sites are close together but long so your tow vehicle still fits on the site without weird parking. Your awning will nearly touch the next camper. The fire rings are positioned behind the site rather than beside. The sewer connection was too high for me to use (low trailer). The pool is OK...quite small and well used. Not much sitting room for non-swimmers. The seasonal sites are well separated from the transients. The playground equipment is dated, but a good number of kids including mine used it anyway. If you don't need the pool or the playground, the get a site across the road from the office. The sites are terraced and quieter. The park is about 30 minutes drive to Ithaca or Watkins Glen and of course a lot of wineries. Good central point if visiting the general area.

37 foot Motorhome. July 2017. Park is located near Cayuga Lake near Ovid New York. Park is easy to get to and navigation within the park is adequante. Transient parking is seperate from seasonal and the drive through are long and not crowded. There is no shade and you have a long side facing the afternoon sun, gets pretty warm. Not much for view, there is a small pool and a couple of ponds and a little used frisbee golf field. Services were adequate. They do offer free wifi that is adequate, can get slow depending on how busy the park is. No cable but there is good over air with about 1o channels. The park is situated in the middle of wine country of the Finger Lakes region. You are within an hour of several wineries, Ithaca, Watkins Glen and other small towns. Would stay again even though the rates were a little high for services but is within the norm for that region. Quiet park run by family. We used Passport America for 3 days, a bargain. It is a large park with seasonals in one area. We were up on the hill across the road. Very pleasant to stay here. It is on the wine trail and other distilleries. Would recommend it to our friends. We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Very friendly and accommodating owners and staff. They are welcoming and offer you some friendship bread when you check in. This is is a big campground with lots of empty green space. If you stand in the right spot, you can catch glimpses of Lake Cayuga. They have a small pool that was closed when we were visiting. It is in the country and very quiet. While we were there, we saw mostly adults and few children. The seasonal/long term sites are near/under the trees. The short term sites out in the open, slightly tiered, very unlevel, narrow, and gravel. We had to park our car sideways to fit but most others seemed to have enough room for their RV and car. Electric worked fine but the water pressure could be really low at times. DirecTV satellite worked great and Verizon had 4g and 3 bars. The Wi-Fi worked well or not at all. There are lots of farms in the area. Many are run by Mennonites or Amish. We were lucky to be there during strawberry season, and they were delicious! Ithaca has a huge farmer's market at various times during the week. We weren't there for the main growing season but I imagine it is quite full of produce in the late summer. There are also plenty of roadside stands selling eggs, honey, and produce. One disappointment was the lack of any fresh fish to buy - there are lakes, why aren't there fish? There are wineries, breweries, and distilleries. We enjoyed the hiking and waterfalls in the area. It is amazing how many waterfalls that are in the Finger Lakes! We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Motorhome.

We camped in a 25' travel trailer. We really enjoyed this quiet beautifuuly maintained campground with a small pond filled with bass. Just a short walk down to Cayuga Lake. The owners were very cordial and informative. And upon arrival, they even give you a small loaf of "Friendship Bread" that is so delicious and homemade by them. This is a great place to camp and then venture off to the north Seneca Falls region, or to the south, Ithica with all the waterfalls. Just a short drive to the west over to Seneca Lake. Bathhouse was clean and well maintained. Heated pool too! All in all we give this place a thumbs up! We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Quiet park, small town. Basic W/E/S, pool, WiFi, only 1 W/D (but clean), has DVD rentals. Only has 4 spots with 50 amps, we got one. They are right in the heart of the "wine country" so it's popular around here, as well as weekends are tough because Watkins Glen isn't far and racing is done on then (as well as the lakes are popular I guess. Found it very difficult to get reservations over the weekend anywhere around here. I was surprised they offered Passport Amer! Nice people. Overall Rating:

A very nice and large open campground with motorhomes backed up against a treeline that provides lots of shade through much of the day.

A select few sites with full-hookups are situated in a more open area with much less shade, but more privacy and closer to the pond. The sites are at times a little cramped but not too bad.

Our site was Water/Electric, and very close to the clean bathrooms and showers. The bathroom is interesting in that the ceiling is open throughout the building with tall walls that divide the womens/mens area; however, it is easy to hear what's going on in the other bathrooms or showers.

The saltwater Pool is situated in an open area with lots of sun. They do have umbrellas for shade and a nearby tree.

Playground is large with many homemade contraptions for the kids. Rec room is in a garage, which does require a fee to play billiards and few other arcade games. I think the ping-pong is free.

Huge bass pond with some very large bass (4lb+), though most were around a 12" or so.

Nature trail along the edge of forest line that goes down to a large gorge, which then branches into many gorges.

Owners are very friendly and made us Amish friendship bread.

The area is situated between two large finger lakes, of which are lined with all kinds of places to visit. The area gets an inordinate amount of sunshine compared to the rest of the state, given its unique mediterranean like micro-climate.

The place has a gentle, warm, sunny, nice feel to it. Everyone seemed very friendly too. We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Watkins Glens State Park is nearby. Watkins Glen has numerous festivals and activities, and is quite touristy, with many out of state plates. There are numerous vineyards and places to sip wine or sample cheese. Lots of organic food stands. Hiking along the finger lakes. Letchworth State Park is not too far to the west. Many nearby waterfalls and gorges.

Lots of sun given its dry mediterranean like climate compared to the rest of the state.

Family oriented site clean and neat grounds. Most sites level, nice pool. Only complaint was showers, very low water pressure. Play ground for children was well structured. Located in the middle of the Finger Lakes area, about 30 minutes from several historical sites in the area. Numerous vineyards to visit along with several nice restaurants. A very nice mom & pop area with a dedicated area for overnighters or short termers. They have a small pool and a nice play area for children and a nice table/chair area for families. I understand they have some cookouts periodically. Laundry was sufficient and fairly priced. As weather was a bit poor and we got in late, the manager allowed my wife to stay after normal closing and lock the door as she left. We appreciate her doing that. Our site was level enough and services were good and well placed. We had several trees between us and the next RV. It is well cared for and maintained. It is no "resort" but is a great place for a night or two. For that reason, I gave it a 10. We camped at Sned-Acres Family Campground (formerly Ridgewood Campground) in a Motorhome.
