The Good...extensive shopping nearby, close to Syracuse, mature trees, nearby lake.
The Bad...Most sites filled with seasonal, many are traffic police. 5 mph speed limit is brutally enforced, even though nobody knows how fast you are actually driving, just "too fast". 2 useless stop signs on property. Don't roll through them. Quiet hours not enforced. Among experiences were drunken cabin people returning in wee hours arguing using f-bomb every other word. Not appropriate for family campground.
The Ugly- our site had a septic tank 10' from our front door and open sewer connection at ground level covered over by a rock 7' from our camper front door. Property flooded 3 times in the 5 weeks we were there. Septic tank became inoperative. Anyone using dump station 50' from our front door would force sewage water out of septic tank on our property onto the ground. Puddle was about 10' in diameter. Open sewer pipe was filled with solid waste. Owners pumped tank twice while we were there, but situation was not resolved. We left the next morning after discovering this. We camped at Pleasant Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $24.00
Beautiful tall trees in a quiet campground conveniently close to stores and malls and the city of Syracuse, but that's about it in recommending this place. Enough bugs (mosquitoes, black flies, deer flies) to discourage outdoor activities, narrow dirt/gravel roads with plenty of potholes, weak voltage during hot weather, owners who have other jobs and do maintenance when they get to it, unsafe access to lake area, many old and rundown seasonal trailers, a frequent overflowing dumpster, and at times the owners are unwilling to enforce their own campground rules. We camped at Pleasant Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
