Camp sites were not good. They are right on top of each other. hardly any room between our trailer and the tent neighbors we were next to. When we camp, we enjoy the quiet peacefulness of nature and the when you so close to your neighbor you can hear them fart in their tent it isn't enjoyable. Other issues were the nice wooded private sites had no electric and what sites did have it were only 20amp service. Most campers with trailer need 30 or more amps. The website has its site lengths wrong. We couldn't fix our unit in a site that was marked for 30 feet. Its was way less. Then we got into a small site size and can't have a camp fire because the pit is located in the front near the road and too close to our camper. This is disappointing because it's a beautiful state park with lots woods and trees. Bike trails well maintained and the beach was nice, although the rock on it were no fun to walk on. We are not talking little beach rocks, these are big and hard to walk on. They had nice shelters for use and we loved the water way/ creek that we kayak on. There is so much room at this park I can't believe improvements to the camp sites can't be made. The whole center part of our loop had empty space that could easily been made into sites. I won't camp here again unless I can go into one of those 6 wooded sites. And if it was bad enough, there was only 1 dump station/equipment/site. When everyone has to be out at the same time of 11am and only one camper can dump at time, there was a huge line to dump your waste. This is unexceptionable. The loop to the dump site was so small only 2 campers could fit into it, it was easy to turn into and no room for passing cars or other vehicles. It was a nightmare. We camped at Selkirk Shores State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Visited just after busy season. Very friendly and helpful staff. Not crowded tho if busy some sites are close together, quiet and clean. No on-site water but fill station located near entrance(you may wait in line a bit)and many container fill faucets located near sites. Picnic table located on concrete pad. Large fire pits are located close to roadside. Wood available at store and reasonably priced,$6 half wagon(provided)$12 full. Also offer on-site delivery for larger loads. Would recommend a full size ax to cut as some pieces quit large. Store also has many camping items at fair pricing. Restrooms were clean and well lighted. We camped at Selkirk Shores State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Full hookup sites are in loops around grassy fields. Our site 33 was large and shaded for the afternoon, a real plus with no A/C. Loops A and B were much less busy. There is a real nice network of biking trails right from the campground. Washroom building was old but they make an effort to keep it clean. Hot water with good pressure. Swimming beach open Fri, Sat, Sun with lifeguard. We camped at Selkirk Shores State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is another swimming beach nearby at SANDY Beachand we were told our camping fee covered parking there. Pulaski is close for groceries, fuel, etc. I enjoyed Fort Ontario n Oswego, and lots of lunch spots there.

Selkirk Shores is a very popular campground in the Oswego, NY area - when we stayed there the campground was *completely full* on Friday and Saturday nights. We stayed in a site with electrical service, which worked fine. Sites are TINY, barely 30x20 feet; our tow vehicle wouldn't fit in the site with our 21 foot hybrid. The neighbor's campfire circle was almost under our camper, which made me more than a little nervous. Not the place to stay if you're not interested in a VERY social camping experience. Bathrooms were relatively new and kept reasonably clean, but due to apparent sewage problems didn't smell very good. Selkirk used to have a beach, but it's been closed for several years, though they do give you free access to the beach at another state park nearby. Essentially nothing to do at the park except fish in the Salmon River; there are no trails for hiking, no swimming, and no marina. We camped at Selkirk Shores State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice family oriented park. Rec staff were great (thanks Penny!) well organized, family friendly and facilities adequate for rainy days and sunshine alike. Beach is nice but bring water shoes as it's a bit rocky in the deeper areas. Sites are adequate but can accumulate standing water in a storm. Park staff is very nice, good patrols. Nice paved access for bike riding and excellent trails. No critter problems, fire pits are nice size as well. We really enjoyed it there and will definitely be back! We camped at Selkirk Shores State Park in a Travel Trailer.
