We read some previous reviews of this campground from last year, and based upon those reviews, decided to try to obtain a site. The former reviews mentioned a steep road into the camp as well as some tight turns, but we thought we could manage with our coach. I was wrong. We were told to pick any site our coach could fit into so we drove the Jeep around until we found a site that would be appropriate. I must also say that it had probably rained for several days prior to our arrival and the ground was probably saturated. It turns out the soil in the camp is a mixture of river sand and rock, covered with nice grass. As I attempted to back into our site the front end of the coach sank into the grass and the rear wheels just spun, digging into the soil enough that the tag wheels held the weight and we got stuck. The camp owner was extremely helpful in trying to get us out. But neither his 4x4 truck nor our Jeep could budge the RV. We had to have a wrecker winch us out. This is a really nice camp if your rig is less than 38'. I wish we could have stayed there for awhile. The owner was extremely helpful, and friendly, as were all the campers we met while there. Although this campground isn't the place for larger rigs, if your rig is smaller, you will love this place. The fishing here is said to be fantastic. We camped at Roscoe Campsite in a Motorhome.

The entrance to the park is not lit up at night so you better know where you are going. Speed signage and other signs going down the entrance could be more visible in the dark; either way go slow. We were escorted to our site which was easy to back in even with a 40ft motorcoach. It was so level we almost didn't need the jacks. It wasn't until the morning we realized what a beautiful and wonderfully updated campground it was. The sewer on our site was too far to hookup to - but no problem. The bathrooms were extremely comfortable and updated. If we had charcoal briquettes we would have used the permanent grills for meals. We camped with our two dogs who took full advantage of the proximity to the Beaverkill River. So close to downtown Roscoe and Roscoe Brewing Co. If I didn't have my own motorhome, I'd rent a cabin - adorable! We camped at Roscoe Campsite in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Camp in the Fall after Labor Day! Roscoe Campsite Park is perfectly situated 1.5 miles from downtown and the Roscoe Brewing Co. Nestled along the Beaverkill River it is the perfect opportunity to blend relaxation, recreation and entertainment. The campground has bikes, kayaks and tubes to rent so you don't have to bring your own or go into town to rent them. Plenty of eating choices in town. Leaf peeping is best Mid-October. Great place to camp.

They've spent a lot of money upgrading amenities. New bath and showers and paved entry which is a good thing since the grade is pretty steep. No sewer hook ups along the river though, which we were led to believe we would have. Store was nice and new but was rarely attended. We spent a couple of days trying to buy a bag of ice. Finally broke down and went into town to purchase one. Overall though a pretty good stay. We camped at Roscoe Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

Not big rig friendly. Only a couple sites are, but very rough to get to. The entrance is very poor. One way up and down single lane. Make sure your brakes are real good and the pavement is not wet. Also very, very steep grade.

The park is getting very good, the help is outstanding, the mgr. needs to brush up on his manners with women. Very rude. We camped at Roscoe Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

I liked this campground very much. Very friendly and helpful staff, although from my observations they might be understaffed. Clean and neat park. Convenient to local attractions. Lots to do in the surrounding area wherever your tastes lie. They probably need to bring their reservation system into the 21st century. My main complaint is the ridiculously early checkout time of 10:00 AM which means you can't have a leisurely breakfast before checking out. And they don't have an option for a late checkout even if you're willing to pay for it. They'd get a better review from me if they changed this policy. We camped at Roscoe Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The little town of Roscoe had great restaurants, a grocery store, outdoor gear shops and even a distillery tour. Sunday was a small but adequate Farmers market.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. All the sites have new electric , water , picnic tables, and cable hook ups. We had our choice of any one of five sites right on the creek. The fly fishing was great. If you want to enjoy peaceful days and nights this is the place for you! No swimming pool or game room just great camping. Bike and tube rentals are available and the town is a five minute bike ride away. We liked it so much we are already planning a return! We camped at Roscoe Campsite in a Motorhome.

We just returned from a four day weekend at Roscoe Campsites and I wish I could have spent a week. This is an old school (but really clean) campground. This is not a campground that is going to babysit your children. No game room, no Sunday ceramics, etc. If your children like to fish, tube, or swim in the cleanest river holes, then they will love it. There is also a playground, hiking trails, and plenty of places to ride their bikes. This is heavily populated with Fly fisherman, so please respect them when they are on the water during fly hatches. Most sites are shaded but there are a few down below that will require an awning and/or a 10 x 10 dining tent. (We were in these and we did fine). If you get hot, and the river is low, just put a chair in the water, or head up to the rock beach. The owner and his staff did everything they could to make us feel at home. What a "standup guy" this owner is! We had three families: kids ages ranged from 10 to 15, and everyone had fun. We had a 31' Travel trailer, a 39" 5th wheel, and our other friend rented one of the newer trailers onsite (a fairly new and spotless Cougar.) There is a large bathroom and shower house which was spotless. Plenty of firewood onsite, and a pretty well stocked general store with ice for sale. They also have tube rentals if needed. This is a fisherman’s heaven. If you like to fish, then stop in town for the most knowledgeable fly fisherman by far. Great fly shops, general store, and beer wine, etc., all available. There is no sewer hookups on the riverfront sites because if it were to flood, it would not be good for the river. Water and electric worked fine, and a honey truck to pump if needed. As a dog owner myself, my only complaint would be to have a leash law for the dogs. WiFi would be great as well, but I would like to see that at every campground. That would probably kill the rustic feel I suppose. We are pretty particular where we camp, and I can tell you we have already booked for next year. We are hoping to sneak back in August. We can’t wait to go back. We camped at Roscoe Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

Park is a dump. The worst I have seen in 17 years of camping. The entry driveway is about a 8% grade narrow with potholes. The photos of the rv sites on the web site are the seasonal sites not available to short term stays. The sites for short term stay no 50 amp no sewer hookup, some of the wire for electric box hookups just a bare wire laying on the ground or nailed to trees. On one to check you in upon arrival. I saw owner a day after I arrived and complained about the park not matching website and the electric wires.Owner ask me to leave the park he also charged my credit card for a week stay. We camped at Roscoe Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.
