Nice spot. Grass sites look great but could get muddy. Long wide 5th wheels could have problems with access road unless they know how to drive. Dump site in main exit. We camped at Oak Orchard Marina & Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

After 10 years of motorhome life, hundreds of campgrounds, this was the worst. The entrance road is a long, dusty, bumpy road, barely enough room for a motorhome. We were assured when we called they had 50 amp and level sites. They charged $3 for A/C which we have never had to pay. After finally getting to our site, the site was unlevel and the electric was terrible. We plugged in and it appeared that 4 sites were tied into the same line. As soon as anything was turned on, the voltage went well below 104, we had to turn the frig and hot water on propane and then couldn't run the A/C. Anytime anyone went down the road in front of the motorhome, we were pelted with huge clouds of dust. It appeared that they hurriedly put in a few sites and then called them "big rig" sites. The majority of the campers appeared to be seasonal, in smaller, older trailers. Would never recommend this campground, even for an overnight. To quote their web page, this campground is "nature's playground"! Our site was right on Montezuma Wildlife Refuge waters, with an active noisy Osprey nest nearby. No complaints - wonderful evening serenade and morning alarm clock. Rented one of their canoes and saw lots of waterfowl. The owners were wonderful friendly - showed us where to see eagles, and helped me replace awning pull-down strap. The campground is clean, neat, and tidy. So is the office. Pool looked inviting, but we didn't have time to enjoy it. Sites are well spaced, nice grass, and quite level. Choose sun or shade. Interior roads are gravel in good condition. Flush toilets and hot showers were fine. We would camp here again. We camped at Oak Orchard Marina & Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

This park was a little hard to find as the Park Sign is Faded and the entrance is sort of hidden. The 30 amp electric and the sewer for our site were on opposite sides of the site. We towed our boat and were told that every site has a dock. There were only Three docks and they were first come first serve. They could use to put out more docks. The Staff was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. The canal was beautiful and it is a great place to go bird watching. They did have a pool and a basic camp store. This was our first time camping here. We are going back this year for Memorial weekend. This campground is true camping. Camping here you are immersed in nature. The fishing is stellar. They have a nice little pool to swim in. The owners have activities for the kids, and they are extremely friendly people. Would definitely recommend this campground. The owners were friendly, and easy to work with. The park had many seasonal tenants, they were also friendly when you met them. There was no pool, but they were in the process of adding one when we were there. However, the money spent on the pool should have been spent on bathhouses for the property. There were only two rooms that had a total of 4 toilets, one each for men and women at each location. These rooms only had a toilet and a sink. We stayed 4 nights, one of the rooms had a sewage blockage and was closed on our 3rd night, the other was blocked on the 4th night and also closed, leaving us with no flush toilets at all in the campground. They had 2 other locations that had a "3 holer" on the mens side and a "4 holer" on the womens side. The shower house was just that...3 showers and 3 sinks per side. These were the only showers for the entire campground. The shower house was also a considerable distance from our site. We drove to use the showers or bathrooms. Other than the bathhouses, we enjoyed our stay. We had a site that was on the banks of the Clyde River, we could fish from our picnic table on our site. The other river bank was the Montezuma Wildlife Preserve, which is wonderful. It was possible to see Bald Eagles and Osprey Eagles fishing from the river in the early morning and late evening. The primary activity during our weekend was the fishing derby. They had 2 separate competitions, one for adults and another for children. The competition was fierce but friendly. We were able to interact with other campers to a greater degree than we have at other campgrounds because of the fishing derby. Fish stories abounded the whole weekend. I would have rated this campground much higher except for the bathhouse situation. We enjoyed our stay very much otherwise. We camped at Oak Orchard Marina & Campground in a Tent Trailer.Undo
