Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $33.00
This campground has a beautiful setting on the banks of the Mohawk River. Sites are well spaced out through a nicely wooded area. Our assigned site was not level front to back and required leveling blocks to keep front wheels touching the ground. The W/E/S and cable hookups were very well placed and worked very well. The WiFi is free and signal ranges from quite good to almost non-existent. Railroad tracks run near the campground, but the noise is not really a problem. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We had a level gravel site in the trees. They only have 2 satellite-friendly sites. They have cable at sites and WIFI by office, but we used neither. Sites are water and electric (50 amps) only. They will pump you out on Tuesdays and Fridays for $6 and they have a dump station. The best part was the friendly hosts. They gave us a great Italian restaurant (Johnny's), pizza stop, and they got us out of a big jam at 10:00 PM. our key broke off in our lock, and we asked them for pliers. The host came to our site with his tools and extricated the key so we could use our spare. We camped here in a 38 foot motor home and would go out of our way to camp here again. Very quiet. Tips for other Campers:
Albany is a very congested city. Parking near Capitol is bad. We parked at the State Museum and came through the Concourse.

We liked this campground and would stay here again. It is pretty basic with a large, level, stone site, with water and electric (at our site), picnic table, fire pit, cement patio and wonderful trees shading the area. It is close to a walking trail along the river. There is train noise but not so loud that I couldn't sleep. Wi-fi is nonexistent at out site, they do have cable. Close to shopping. We had a back-in site but there are 5 pull-thru sites. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three days before going to Mass. for our daughter's wedding. Both of our daughters stayed with us part of our time here, and there is an extra charge, but the basic charges are very reasonable, so it wasn't a big deal. We also set up a tent on our site, plenty of room for that. Our site was a back-in with a huge lawn and a view of the Mohawk River nearby. There are a lot of seasonal campers here, all very friendly. I used their showers and found them to be fine. The owners live on site and are very friendly and helpful. Much of the park has huge old trees and green lawns. We liked this park so much we may come back next summer for at least a month! We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.
Nice, well kept, peaceful, campground. Sits on the Mohawk River Barge Canal (Erie Canal). Nice area to sit and watch the river. We were in a 50amp, back-in, water site. Fair space between sites. Electric service worked as designed and plenty of water pressure. There were no full-hooks when we were there; the park offers a pump out service on Tuesdays and Fridays for $6. There is a free to guests dump station. There were some complaints by past reviewers of train whistles - yes there was the occasional whistle but in our opinion - nothing to write home about. Easy on and off I90 and a short drive to Scotia & Schenectady, NY. We will stay here again. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.
I was traveling through the area over a weekend and had mechanical trouble. I use my AllStays app and found that this park was nearby. I was able to get a site for the same day. I ended up staying three nights, and absolutely loved it. Sites are gravel but level. I stayed in a pull-through elec/water site, dump station was nearby and easy to use. Laundry and restrooms/showers were clean and in good condition. Sites are spacious, whole park is beautifully wooded and on the water. There are some seasonal campers there, and they were incredibly helpful with my mechanical issues. Seasonal sites are well-kept, there is evident house-pride in how nicely the long-termers maintain their sites. Both the campers and the owner, got me to a quality mechanic, made sure that I got to the local Wal-Mart to stock up on necessities, and just generally made me feel welcome. For a woman traveling alone in a new-to-me RV, this was a godsend.
Not only were the people wonderful, but the park is gorgeous, with mature trees and beautiful landscaping. Owners are on-site, park was quiet but there was plenty to do. I did not have my dogs with me but it is very dog-friendly. I cannot recommend this park enough--I'm trying to figure out a reason to go back to upstate New York again, just so that I can stay at Arrowhead! We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
If you have a canoe or kayak, this is the park for you! Very easy, attractive water access.

Very nice setting along the river. Relatively easy off from I-90, and very easy to get back on - at least to go west. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our site was level and water, sewer, and electric were all good. Wi-Fi at our site was nonexistent. Train noise seemed much more noticeable than our last visit - might have been the site location. We would stay here again. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We had a back-in site (#54) that was clean, level and had a concrete patio with a view of the river. The park is small but well kept and the staff is very friendly. Lots of shade trees as previously mentioned and a busy rail corridor close by which was not a problem for us. We could not get connected to Wi-Fi at our site, and this park does not have a camp store, which is why I couldn't rate it higher. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $36.00
Reasonably spacious sites nestled within a very wooded area. Easy on and off from I-90. Few sewer sites and the bathrooms are not clean. We did not want to shower in their bathrooms. Without a sewer hook-up this caused us to have to go to the dump station during our stay. They do have a pump-out service, but only on Fridays and Tuesdays. They need to have service 3 times a week OR clean their showers! We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.
Made a quick stop here. Site was very long and fit our 5th wheel Water pressure was good. The one drawback was the power. It was very low. My power protector shut down when the voltage dropped to 105 volts. Wi-Fi worked good. This campground has a lot of trees so setting up a satellite dish might be impossible. I never even tried mine. Luckily they have cable. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
A very pleasant family operated campground on the Mohawk River in the NY Capital District. They offer boat launching and boat dock facilities. The campground is kept very clean. The friendly owner lives on site. The sites are level and reasonably large for a private campground and easy to get into. There is a twice weekly pump out service for $6.00 which makes a long term stay more pleasant. The only downside are the train tracks that pass about 1/2 mile away. This is a fairly busy rail line and trains go though at all hours with their horns blaring due to the nearby road crossing. We found this situation kind of quaint and not a deal killer, but if you are sensitive to this type of noise intrusion you need to consider this. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
The campground is a very good one. Agree with almost all positive comments made by others. Sites (we stayed in 20) are large and very well maintained. Easy in and out. Many seasonal, so if you want to stay here need reservations well in advance. Especially, if you want a waterfront or view site. WiFii was anemic, Verizon passable. The only real negative is the proximity to the train tracks. Trains run all night blowing their whistles. So if you are a light sleeper this could be a problem for you. Almost forgot....lots of trees so unlikely to get satellite signal, but they have expanded cable. We enjoyed our stay and will return. Lots to do in area. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.
Nice local campground on the river. Sat and watched the boats on the river. Unique layout with circular drives and back-in sites. Some pull-throughs but not needed unless double pulling. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
