Forward-If you are a BIG RIG and require 50amp service make sure you bring your 50amp (female) to 30amp (male) adapter. This park is situated in some of the most beautiful part of Long Island. The park is located on the Long Island sound that has its own mini beach. With in 15 minutes you can easily reach at least 4-5 beaches in the Riverhead Park System. Tip-If you buy an out of state pass for one beach it will allow you entrances into any of the other Riverhead Park System. The campground has wide open semi level pull through sites with easily accessible hookups (E-30amp, W & S). The bathrooms are "OK" they are not the best and they are not the worst. They are cleaned and maintained daily. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for two days in a travel trailer. Stayed on site 48. Some leveling required. Nice hiking and biking in the area. Didn't really use restrooms but checked them out and they were clean. Site had full hook up. Stable electric and descent water pressure. Picnic table on each site. Bring your own fire ring. Sites are sort of close but not terrible. Most sites seem to be pull thru. Enough room for trailer and tow vehicle but was tight. Some sites are longer than others. North Overlook has some nice end sites with just woods next to them. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here one night. Great pull thru sites. 30 amp service and full hook up. Lots of TV stations. Bring your own fire ring and wood. Must be off the ground. Very quite midweek. Nicer RV sites on North Overlook. Hige park with many hiking and biking trails. Beach accsess. Great family campground. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Travel Trailer.

One of the nicer state parks, paved roads and sites, good services, lots of space between sites. Didn't give higher rating as they don't prune trees as they should; many lower branches which might scratch taller coaches. Very nice beach area. Great location to explore the end of Long Island. BUT if you're coming across the George Washington bridge, be aware of very narrow lanes and lots of big trucks. Could barely fit my truck with our 41' 5th wheel on site. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

There were no park employees monitoring the park at night. Loud music until midnight, loud conversations and partying until 3:00 am and not a park ranger to be found. Did not get any sleep at all. Paid for 2 nights and did not stay the second night. Very disappointed. Will not return. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Tent.

The park was nice. There are very few (parks) in the area. The park was very large and sites were pretty well spaced. There was a lot of litter on the ground. Also, in the tent area, people had music playing really loudly. I liked the park but did not like the lack of campground etiquette. I also had trouble with kids playing in the restroom, both boys and girls in the ladies room with no adult present. 30 amp service (no 50 amp). You have to provide your own fire ring and it has to be off the ground. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

NY state park. Sites are very large and shaded all are paved pads. Many pull-through sites.

Reservations suggested; need for full hook ups. Many many tents sites.

This park is huge. All roads are paved. Nice bike riding. Hike trails are somewhat marked but really can't get lost. Access to beach very rocky shore. Close enough to town but you get the rustic camp vibe here. Occasionally you will hear a fire whistle from locate fire dept but not a deal breaker. WiFi is not offered, but you sometimes get service near the main entrance building. If WiFi is important to you bring a hot spot device. You need to bring your own fire ring and wood. There is a camp store. You can rent a ring and purchase wood. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I like Wildwood State Park. I stay here several times a year in a 27 ft. RV. It's pretty easy to get a full hook-up site and is easy to get to. There are peach orchards that allow picking for a fee. A public state park beach on the LI Sound with a newly built concession stand. I like being in the trees when I'm camping. There isn't any WIFI through the park but then I go there to camp and not sit on my devise. I really wish the park would stay open into November making the camping season longer for us. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful open campground, lots of trees. All RV sites are pull trough. Lots of space between sites. Full hookups, only 30 amp. Lots of trails for hiking. No Wifi, cell service is excellent. We love this park. Only downside is because of the trees. satellite service is extremely hard to get. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground, full hookups, easy access, paved sites, although slightly un-level (bring boards or levelers of you don't have power jacks), no fire rings (you may rent them), not a lot to do in the area, long walk to rocky beach along path with tick warnings. TV reception was good with stations from New Haven. WiFi available if you log in with your Brighthouse/Optimum/Time Warner/Cox account. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is no longer a party town. NO ALCOHOL - NO PETS. Patrolled by local police several times per day. Nice clean quiet environment for families and kids. No Wi-Fi, limited air TV, get outside and have fun. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Motorhome.

Beware! This place is a joke. If you are young and party all night; get drunk and are loud; like to throw up all night in the bathrooms, and wake up to drunk idiots asleep by your tent: this is the place for you. We stayed one night and by the next morning we were out of there. It was a horrible night. It wasn't camping. It was a night of being held hostage by the jerks next to us trying to chop down a tree at 3am for wood with a chainsaw. It was like the staff got out of Dodge at nightfall: and it was fend for yourself! We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 days. We live on Long Island. There are a few sections of this park. There is a public area for picnics and heading to the beach, those areas are very very busy. There is another area for tents only, that area again was pretty busy but looked nice. Then there is your area for the RVs, that area is really beautiful. Our site was on the south loop and was shady, very quiet and bordered the forest area. We loved it. It was a full hook up site with lots of areas for the kids to ride their bicycles. It was very peaceful and it seems everyone in this loop were pretty quiet. The kids really enjoyed themselves and since are pretty close in West Islip, that was another plus. There is a camp store on site. Firewood was $7.00 and you have to rent a fire ring for another $7.50 for 1 night. If you do not take it back before 11am, you will lose your deposit. You have to drive to the beach from where we were, you can ride your bike but you cannot take your bikes down to the beach. There is very steep hill down to the beach, if you are with elderly etc walk it down first to make sure. The beach is very very rocky, you will have to wear water shoes. In the camping area we did not find any playgrounds. There is a public playground but it was packed with kids when we went. Again, the public areas are very busy, not the best if you have smaller children. I rated the park an 7, if there were other amenities such as a pool etc I would have rated higher. There was no cable either. The girls at the front desk are awesome, very nice and friendly. One thing I liked was the park police patrolled often and stayed at the front gate at night. Overall we liked the park a lot and would definitely stay there again. We were lucky to get reservations this time! We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Travel Trailer.

For a state park, Wildwood is great. Its biggest drawback is that they do not allow animals. If you plan to camp there make sure you bring a fire ring of sorts. They do not supply them. The walk down to the sound is very nice and the sunsets can't be beat. We stayed in the trailer are which was very quiet. The tent area was very large, and seemed to be on the wild side of the campground. We camped at Wildwood State Park in a Tent Trailer.
