Overall Rating:

This is a very nice, well maintained, but small campground in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. The campground is actually in two sections. We stayed at the N Pole Resort, and the 100 Acre Woods is across the street and down a little. The Woods is wooded, hilly and tight. The Resort is much better suited for larger motorhomes. Check-in was easy and we were escorted to our site and assisted with backing in. All the sites are back-in up against the woods. The fire ring is in a hollow behind the site, with a second picnic table, very private. The interior road is paved right down to the Ausable River. There is a gravel road into the tent area. The sites are gravel and quite level. Some sites have a shelter over the picnic table. There is grass between the sites, but not much of it. The utilities are located near the rear of the site; perfect for my RV. There is a young blue spruce guarding the water post which some day will be a very large blue spruce, and a problem. The water pressure was good as was the voltage. There is a good selection of cable stations, and the Wi-Fi was very good. I enjoyed this area and the campground. It is very scenic. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Olympic venues in Lake Placid are a short drive and worth seeing. Saranac Lake is scenic. Olympic Museum is a must. I wanted to drive up Whiteface Mtn, but the weather was poor and it cost $20.

This campground is very clean and very well maintained. The staff is very friendly. Water pressure was 75psi, AT&T and Verizon were 2-3 bars. No OTA tv, but cable is included. My only complaint is that I had to pay $28 additional for a car that fit in the site that I was given. I was also surprised that they did not offer a weekly or monthly rate. I had to move to a site with no sewer about half way as the first site was booked. There rate was the same, so opt for full hook-ups as it costs the same. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Fifth Wheel.

Booked here for the week to enjoy the Adirondack Mountains. The resort is Christmas Chic, but the decor is slightly aging. Sites were large with decent sized sitting areas and firepits behind the back-in sites. Road are easy to move around in. Fit our 45ft Class A with no problem. Good verizon and ATT signal. Great location to Whiteface Mountain. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the hundred acre wood section. It has lovely large lots with trees between spaces that improve privacy and quiet. It is ten miles from Lake Placid which has every tourists wish provided. Good restaurants, stores, and Olympic attractions. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Hungry Trout is a wonderful restaurant nearby. Worth the splurge. The Little Market in Wilmington has a pretty decent selection of items and we visited it several times. Lake Placid also has a Price Chopper for larger grocery lists. We bought the Olympic Pass and enjoyed the old Olympic sites. If possible, don't miss the ice show!

First time in Wilmington and totally enjoyed it. We stayed in the original section [not the wooded section] and found it to be great. All sites are back-ins with grass between the sites located on one access in and out paved road that ends at the Ausable River. Very convenient to launch a kayak. Plan to stay on the north side of the access road if you have a TV Dish. We were able to receive DirecTV with no problems. There is plenty to do in and around Wilmington with a short 10 minute drive to Lake Placid. Don't miss the drive to the top of Whiteface Mountain. Would stay here again. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Motorhome.

This was our first stay. We stayed in the 100 Acre Woods section, which I would recommend. We had full hookups and WiFi. When we first arrived, staff escorted us to our site and gave us helpful hints about things to do in the area. We enjoyed the full hookups and wooded sites that the campground had to offer. While there, we used the pool, dog walks, and loved walking across the street to the Wilmington Town Beach (the Thursday night concerts at the park, were wonderful!!) The beach was great for our kids (and dog) to swim at, the playground was wonderful too. We also walked to the A & W restaurant one night for dinner. Lots to see and do in the area, would highly recommend, we'll be back!! We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is divided into two sections...100 Acre Woods and the Resort. We were in 100 acre woods so this review pertains only to that section. Park is wooded, but roadways are wide and trees trimmed enough so as not to cause any problems driving around. Sites and roadways are gravel and reasonably well-maintained. Decent space between sites, and sites are quite deep. Bathroom/shower facilities consist of individual bathrooms which are modern and clean. Park is located just down the road from WhiteFace Mounntain ski area and other attractions, as well as a few minutes from downtown Lake Placid. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice campground in a beautiful area. The 100 acre wood campsites are in a hardwood forest-our stay was in the height of the fall color season. Our pull thru site was level. Friendly and helpful staff. We were escorted to our campsite. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Travel Trailer.

Nice spacing between sites. We were located in the area not on the main property, across the street and about 1/2 block away. The office had a cute shop with fun things for sale. The game room did need some maintenance, as most of the games were not functioning (i.e. the $.25 ping pong ball dispenser was jammed). Regardless, there was enough to do in the area that we weren't bored. This is a beautiful part of the country, and we enjoyed our stay at North Pole. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Fifth Wheel.

There are 2 areas. We stayed in the 100 acre area, Down the road about 100 yards from the office. This area has a lot of trees and almost all pull troughs. I enjoyed the great hiking trails that can be entered directly from the campground. Lake Placid is the big attraction for the area and is a lot of fun. This place has the best WIFI of any RV park I have been in, strong and fast. Only complaint is they do not keep all of the bathrooms in operation and on the weekend lines develop. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, I stayed in the section down by the river and had great wifi and satellite access. All sites in this side (there's another part of the campground across the highway) are back-ins and back to a forest with trails down to the river. Everything worked well, I would definitely stay here again. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The North Pole is an interesting Christmas-themed resort which features two campgrounds, across the road from each other, and a motel. We stayed one month at the campground next to the West Branch of the Ausable River. Our inflatable double kayak really enjoyed this stay. We could have launched from the end of our camp road, but found the public park next door had even more convenient access and facilities. The North Pole had fairly recently upgraded its WiFi system, and we were able to utilize it almost exclusively during our stay. Cable TV also worked well. This park offers a pretty well-equipped camp store with adjacent liquor store. Beer growlers can be refilled at the camp store, and the park advertises the largest selection of craft beer in the area. A mini-golf course is located between the campground we stayed in and the motel. There is a charge for the course. Clubs and balls are obtained at the camp store. The park also offers a rec hall with ping pong and a pool table, along with other arcade games. The park swimming pool is kept locked when not in use, so an attendant must be flagged down to open it if needed. A very nice playground is across from the pool. Our assigned site had a nice wooded area at the rear, which was a quite pleasant spot to read or enjoy happy hour. As required in New York, this park recycles. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Motorhome.

Pros: good WiFi, close to public beach, well stocked camp store, close to attractions, sites well maintained Cons: Walmart parking sites on the river side campground, backup crew is not always helpful, pooling of water on this site which was one of the few without gravel, requested to be beside our friends who reserved/checked in at the same time but request was not accommodated even though there was a vacant site next to us for our entire 3 night stay. Clean, older park but well maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. There are two areas to this park, one side called the resort area and another area on the other side of the road called The 100 Acre Woods. The resort area is more your typical RV park with RV sites, tents and some cabins. Sites are close together and packed dirt/gravel, but well maintained. Internet was spotty, but we did get reception for our Verizon hotspot. We also got satellite reception at Site 12. Road in is so narrow that we had to move our car at least 6 times in order for other campers to back into their sites. The 100 Acre Woods area is heavily wooded and more like a state park type campground. Park is located close to hiking and all the Olympic venues at Lake Placid. We camped at North Pole Resorts in a Motorhome.
