We have stayed at Cherry Grove twice this summer and enjoyed our stay both times. This is a rural, peaceful, flat campground with gravel roads and was easy to get around in our 41' motorhome. The bathrooms and showers are immaculate. The camping sites are spaced well with trees in between. The permanent campers are friendly and follow the rules. Their sites are neat and well taken care of. We camped at Cherry Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. Grassy sites and plenty long enough for just about any length. 5 mph speed limit and they mean it! I was going 7 0r 8 mph and got warned! Very rural and quiet countryside. Many seasonal campers who were friendly. Short term campers are mostly grouped in a nice partly shady section of the campground. Also, I had a problem with my camper and needed a certain drill bit adapter which the manager offered to loan to me without my even asking! We camped at Cherry Grove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 2 nights while attending the Sterling Renaissance Festival. $40 seems to be the going rate for a full hookup in this area. All utilities were in good condition and located in a logical manner. The park is majority seasonal sites with 20 "over night" pull through sites. Our site was quite level with just enough slope so that water would not pool. All the sites are quite close, but are well maintained and kept in order. The wi-fi worked well. There is a trail set aside for dog walking. A pool, miniature golf, and a large "jumping pillow" available. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cherry Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground is easy to reach and any updated GPS will take you right to the entrance driveway. The driveway in is paved and wide with no overhanging trees. This is a seasonal park with 20 spots for transients, so if you're thinking of staying here call first and make sure they have a space for you. The park is well groomed and well taken care of. The campground owner and host is fantastic and extremely helpful. The roads in the park and access to the transient spots is tight. Take it slow and you will have no issues, there were several 40 plus MH's and 5th wheels that came and went while we were there. Our site was a pull through, gravel, reasonably level with all utilities conveniently located. Site separation is minimal. Standard electric is 30amp while 50amp is an additional cost. There was some shade at our site but not all sites. Good over the air TV. Laundry room was clean. Verizon signal and reception was strong. Speed limit is 5 mph and strictly enforced. There is no road noise and the park is quiet in the evening. We would stay here again. We camped at Cherry Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Places to eat, in Wolcott don't miss the Village Restaurant for breakfast. For supper or a larger meal, try Captain Jacks in Sodus Point/Bay. In Wolcott there is also a supermarket and Dollar General. Places to see, Sodus Point Lighthouse and Museum; Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse; Camillus Erie Canal Park in Camillus; and for those who don't mind a bit of a ride, Niagara Falls. We also spent time visiting a working lock, lock 24 in Baldwinsville.

Our site was level and gravel, not as wide as we would have liked. Electricity cycled off twice for about 20 minutes. Pet rules were very reasonable. Some difficulty exiting around the U-shaped turn. Our Freightliner based MH does not turn sharply and required backing up twice. Should be fine for 40-42 foot class A. They have twice the number of speed bumps they need. People in office are very nice. WiFi worked great. Would camp here again. We were in a pull-thru, site 61. We camped at Cherry Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a week, over the 4th of July holiday. The folks in the office were friendly when making the reservation and during check-in. The area has had a LOT of rain the past couple months, but the sites in the row we were in had decent drainage. A lot of seasonal renters, and all we encountered were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cherry Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

We truly enjoyed this area - it is close enough for day trips to the Finger Lakes (LOTS of wineries) and towns along the Erie Canal. We also did a day trip and hike in Chimney Bluffs State Park. Another day exploring the area around Sotus Bay. The laundry facility we used in the park was spotless and in perfect working order. We enjoyed this park and would definitely stay here again.

Overall Rating:

I stayed here for 4 nights to move my daughter into college. As a result I wasn't at the campground much, and didn't take advantage of the facilities. It was a nice clean park with about 80% seasonal campers. There are only about 20 transitional sites, all pull-thrus. There was plenty of room for my 38' RV and truck. Electrical worked fine (I used 30 amp) and other hook-ups were convenient. No cable TV, not a problem for me, over the air not bad. I had difficulty with WiFi, but I don't believe it was the fault of the campground. I really enjoyed the area (check out Sodus Point), the one day I had to myself. The owner I presume, was very friendly and helpful. I will be making a few trips out here during the next 4 years and will likely stay at Cherry Grove. I grade it a 10 because it served my needs perfectly for the time I was there, all at a great price. Good experience all around. Thank you Susan! We camped at Cherry Grove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff is exceptionally helpful. We had trouble with our satellite dish on our site and Susan went out of her way to rearrange things so we could move to another site. I also called 3 different times before arriving because I had to change my dates and she was extraordinarily accommodating. Very clean, beautiful, well-managed campground. We had a long level pull-through grass site that was plenty big enough for our slides and awning. They do not have cable but we were able to pickup a few OTA signals and had a clear view for our satellite signal. The utilities worked well but they do charge $3/day for A/C or electric heat use. The Wi-Fi is extra after the first hour so we used our Verizon hotspot. The campground is easy to get to and easy to get around in with a big rig. They have a pool but it was closing while we were there. They are a Passport America campground. The host are friendly and we would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Cherry Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

A fairly small, simple park but we really loved the "ambiance", if an rv park can have one! We found the seasonal, older residents more friendly than many other campgrounds. It was flat, very smooth gravel roads, a nice pool, and a decent but small store. Its proximity to Sodus Bay was nice, since we chose this place to stay while boating there.
