2 RV Parks near Argentia, Newfoundland
Jul 2016 - $23.00
We pretty much agree with the previous recent reviews. There wasn't anyone in the office, so we just picked a 3 Way site with a view of the Ferry Dock. The water was good, no wi-fi or TV. The washer and dyer is free, donations accepted, full kitchen to use. This is a good place to unwind for a couple of days before or after the ferry. We would stay here again. - Living the Dream

Open gravel pads - some pull-through, some back-in. Very convenient to Nova Scotia ferry terminal in Placentia (can see the ferry from the CG). Exceptionally clean restrooms/showers. Free use of washer/dryer (only 1 of each, $ donations accepted). 20 amp power on back-ins. Cash only! No Wi-Fi in park, but good free Wi-Fi at Visitors Center 2 min away. Sites filled about 3/4 full by Friday afternoon. Would certainly stay there again. - Loggenrock

This park is a gem...quiet and located less than 5 min from the Argentia ferry from N.Sydney NS...you can actually see the ferry and dock from the RV park! It is on a former US Navy site, so it naturally has good views. It is a municipal park, so it is not always staffed, but the bldg housing the bathrooms, showers, & laundry (free) is always open (& spotlessly clean). The bldg also has a small kitchen with a full electric range and sink for cooking and washing dishes. And, the laundry room walls are plastered with many posters with area historical pictures and commentary as well as ideas of things to do. There is also an extensive trail system close to the campground.
There is no WiFi...however, the Provincial Visitor Center is practically outside the parks front gate AND they have free WiFi that is available 24/7 from their parking lot. So it not unusual to see cars in the parking lot early and late using the WiFi. (Btw, the visitor center staff are VERY knowledgeable and helpful!)
The park is conveniently located to the town of Placentia with restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores as well as a lot of neat historical stuff...don't miss Castle Hill! The park is also convenient to visiting Cape St. Mary Ecological Reserve...a MUST SEE. (But, beware, the road down the cape while very scenic, has many potholes.) - itchyfeetx2
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Oceanside park located a short ways off the Trans Canada Highway. There are a number (about 100) of semi-serviced sites, as well as non-serviced and tent sites. The beach area sites are more "open style" while sites in the woods, but adjacent the ocean offer more privacy. Staff are attentive and willing to offer up help and advice. They also keep close watch on vehicles entering and leaving the park which is great for security. There are limited essentials to purchase at the kiosk, however groceries and fuel are available a few minutes away in nearby communities. Sites and grounds were clean however some fire pits could use replacing. There is a fantastic beach that the whole family enjoyed. There is a small playground and large grassy field, but for the most part, the beach and a bucket kept our daughter (and us) engaged for hours. - roo22

Bellevue Beach is a hidden jewel among Newfoundland camp grounds. For the nature lover Bellevue offers a spectacular beach and walking trail for long relaxing strolls. An abundance of wildlife from birds to whales depending on the time of year. Breathtaking scenery and friendly people. All the sites have power and water and generally you can choose between a site at beach level or one on the ridge in the shelter and shade of the trees. Very family friendly and relaxing we have been camping there for years and look forward to next season. - Hornet424

My family went to Bellevue Beach for a Canada day weekend 5 years ago and we never left. We became seasonal campers because of the beautiful campsites and the fantastic staff. The couple who takes care of the place are so helpful and kind to our children and they have become like family to us.
We spend our days on the beach exploring the tidal pools for sea creatures and having a lunch over a beach fire. Our children love when the Caplin roll and watching the bald eagles. It is a quiet family park due to good management.
The owners have recently added new equipment to the playground but have left a huge open field so kids can play soccer and baseball or just be kids. They also have planned weekend activities for the children if they wish to participate.
We will continue to stay at Bellevue Beach as long as they'll have us. - Bellevue Beacher
