This was the top park that we used in Newfoundland. Would probably be an 8 in the US by comparison, but far better than the other 13 parks we used. Good power, good water, spacious sites. We did not get good cell signal so we did try the park's wifi occasionally - had to walk over to a common area to use it. This is a well established park, good layout, nice grass and gravel sites, free firewood. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Motorhome.

This is the closest park to the ferry to Nova Scotia so usually very busy. Lovely location with some nice views. Be sure to follow directions on their website instead of GPS as it can easily be missed. Sites are level and everything worked great. The owner even went with us & some other RVers to a performance of local singers. There's a craft shop on the premises with lovely hand-made items. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground 30 minutes from ferry terminal. Full hookup 30 amp only level gravel backin sites. Owners are friendly even if a little scatterbrained! Good wifi. Water was good also. Free firewood and grills at every site. Well manicured and beautiful views. By far the best in this region of Newfoundland. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Codroy Valley Wetland Interpretation Centre. Grand Codroy Wildlife Exhibit, Nature Park and Petting Zoo. Codroy Valley Provincial Park. Cape Anguille Lighthouse. Home baked goods on site some days. Cooked meals on site prepared by locals. The fish and brews was really good. Convenience stores in near by towns. Free wi-fi and firewood. Sometimes we just stay one night before or after the ferry and site 7 is a pull thru if site behind it is empty. Great not to have to detach car.

Campground is only a 30 minute drive from the ferry. Follow instructions on their website rather than your GPS. The campground itself has a beautiful park like setting overlooking a river. One of the best campgrounds we stayed in during our Newfoundland visit. It has level, spacious, gravel/grass sites. Electric-30 amp/Water/Sewer as advertised. They do not have a camp store but do offer frozen local meals. Be sure to visit their craft shop which is filled with all types of local items. They offer free firewood. Definitely one of the best campgrounds in Newfoundland. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Recommend scenic drive Route 406, 407 loop. Take road trip to Cape Anguille Lighthouse - beware rough road but worth the trip. Wouldn't recommend driving in motorhome. Restaurant - Silver Sands on Route 407 was quite good for lunch.

Awesome park with awesome people running it. We had a breakdown while we visited the area and the staff were so very helpful and even assisted us to get out for some grocery items. Extremely spacious and clean with free firewood. This park is close to the ferry terminal and owners go out of their way to refer people to local business and places of interest. The screech in is a hoot. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Motorhome.

Wonderful park, the best we found in all of Newfoundland. Located in scenic Codroy Valley - the sites are very spacious and well laid out, easy to back into. Very friendly, helpful hosts. Excellent WIFI. We came back for 5 nights at the end of our trip here to enjoy this park. Excellent drinkable water (not always the case in Newfoundland) We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park is located a short distance off the Trans-Canada Highway as it passes through Doyles, NL in the Codroy Valley. Located a short 30 minutes drive north of the Port Aux Basques ferry terminal, it is ideally located for those getting off or about to get on the boat to/from Nova Scotia.

The Grand Codroy is easily the nicest RV park we stayed in during our month-long tour across and around Newfoundland. Its spacious sites are spread around nicely landscaped grounds and both the campsite and facilities are spotlessly clean. Its sites are back-in but they utilized the looped drive we were on to enable us to back almost straight in with lots of clearance for our 43 ft Class A. The site was long enough that we had plenty of room to park our tow car in front. The sites were spread out with trees and lush green grass all around.

Of all the RV parks we stayed at in Newfoundland, this is the only one I have given a 5 out of 5 rating. The only negative is they are 30 amp only, which could be more significant in hot weather. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful park. Honestly our favorite in Newfoundland & Labrador. The owners are extremely helpful & friendly. We had a water / electric site & met many great people from all over as this park is located about 20- 30 minutes from the Port Aux Basques ferry terminal. Most sites are open with a few trees & beautifully cared for lawns. The Inspirational walking trail is worth the 20-30 minute stroll. We agree with all the previous posts, well laid out park, very spacious, the gravel sites level and the water was good. Not all the sites have sewer, but there is a dump station available. The 2 bathhouses were clean, but the laundry was small, 3 washers and only 1 of the 3 dyers was working, they say the parts are on the way to fix it. We were asked when we arrived if we would like a site with a view or wifi.....we chose the wifi, and it was good from our site. Lots of room to walk the pup. Hard to find anything wrong with this park. It is the place to stay while waiting for or getting off the ferry. You might need reservations if you come in the caravan season July or August. We will stay here again. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a nice 1 km walking trail in the park, takes you to a couple of nice views thru pine trees, be sure to read all the inspirational signs along the way. There is a birding estuary building 2 km away, overlooking beautiful marshes, it was not staffed when we were here. Nice drive through the Codroy area. Don't miss the Rose Blanche stone Light House, beautiful drive.

Stayed here on our way across Newfoundland and on our way back to catch the Nova Scotia ferry. We only stayed here one night each way but were impressed with this very nice clean park. We stayed here in a 38 ft fifth wheel and was given a gravel level back in site that we did not have to unhook on. The ladies at the check in were very friendly. This park is only 1 km from the highway and approximately 30 minutes to the ferry. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.
