2 RV Parks near Gander, Newfoundland
Jul 2018 - $27.00
The Country Inn Motel & RV Park, where I stayed for the week, partakes of the same dismal look-and-feel that besets Gander and many other towns that grow up to provide services to large airports. The word that rushed to my mind the moment I arrived was 'dreary'. The lanes were abundantly scattered with potholes, filled with the muddy water of the day's rain, making any speed bumps irrelevant and unrecognizable. The camping area was a graveled knoll, with sites narrowly spaced and barely long enough for my 38' trailer plus pickup. My recommendation to any camping visitors to the Gander area: look elsewhere. - Jim Fulton
Sep 2017 - $23.00
Good value for the price. Actual cost was about $23.25 when you take in the conversion from Canadian dollars to US dollars. We opted for a electric & water site, but since we were here only overnight, we didn't even hook up to water. As mentioned in previous reviews, the roads of full of potholes, some of the worse we've seen. Our back-in site was level but the 30-amp electric was a bit on the weak side. Two uni-sex bathrooms / showers and a handicap accessible restroom & shower which were clean but lacked enough hooks to hang your stuff on. Two washers and two dryers, each was $2. Internet was OK, but we were close to the main office. No over the air TV. - thetravelkids
Aug 2017 - $33.00
Rate of $33.00 per night total, no discount offered for full 30 amp hook ups. Roads throughout the park are dirt/gravel mix and in dire need of repair, full of large potholes. While most of the roads are wide and easy to traverse, some are narrow and tight, depends which section of the park you're in. Upon our arrival, the very friendly office clerk gave us several options on sites and suggested we go and select the one best suited for us before registering. Appears a moderate percentage of the sites are used by seasonal RV's. Our site was a back in, somewhat level with all utility hookups located in the middle left side of the coach. Our 30 amp service, water and sewer were easily accessible and worked as designed. This site had a clear view of the SW sky for easy roof mounted satellite connection. Some sites are very open while others are in an alcove and very heavily shaded. Sites are gravel and adequately long and wide enough for use without encroaching on your neighbor. Most have a picnic table and some have fire rings. Scattered vegetation (grass/weeds) very overgrown and in need of cutting. There are three individual unisex bathroom/shower rooms. All were simple, clean and appear functional. Laundry room is small, clean and has 2 each washers and dryer, $2.00 each per session. There is a small playground for children. Verizon and T Mobile worked well, no Sprint service. We stayed 2 nights and would return here again if in the area. - ECM1
Aug 2013 - $22.00
A decent park for a night or two. Entrance signage is small and easily missed. A municipal park with helpful operator. Not a lot of services available in area, but well worth a stay if traveling and looking for local activities. I would stay again. - camperme
Aug 2013 - $20.00
This park is on the outskirts of Gambo and you have to drive a short distance on a well maintained gravel road to get there. Of the fifteen sites with water and power, about half are taken by seasonal guests. Although our site (8B) had plenty of room for our 34' motorhome, I would recommend calling ahead if you a have a big rig. The price is hard to beat, but what really makes this park is the walking trail next to the river. It is a beautiful three kilometer walk along the river and the trail is very well maintained. You can walk right up on to the fish ladder and I understand it's a good river to fly fish for Salmon. - ET56342
