We stayed at this park as a base for our exploration of the northern Baie Verte Peninsula. The scenery at this location was amazing. Campsites are situated on high cliffs overlooking the ocean. Sunset views were beautiful. Facilities were older but very clean. Sites were gravel with neatly cut grass in between. Site 8 accommodated our 25ft trailer comfortably and longer sites were available. The electicity was only 20 amp which posed no problems for us. There was water hookups at the sites. No WiFi at the camp but available in La Scie at the library. The manager is quite a character and was very helpful and hospitable during our stay. The stunning location and her kindness made our stay in La Scie a very unique experience. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Island Cove Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of places to explore. Beautiful scenery. Don't miss the museum and Man Cave in Tilt Cove! Basic groceries and gas are available right in the village. The Outpost Museum and Tea House was great. Had two wonderful hosts for an authentic Island meal we enjoyed during our visit.

What a treat it was to look out the windshield while eating and see whales, seals, osprey, and more! The park itself is rather simple, with gravel roads and gravel pads on grass sites that were fairly level and just large enough for our 37' MH and toad. High on a rocky bluff, there were no trees or shrubs to block the wind or give privacy from other campers. The water and electric hookups were conveniently placed, but only provided 15 amp service. There was no sewer at the site, and we didn't bother with the available dump station. There was no WiFi in the park, so we went to a restaurant or sat in the car outside the library to connect. We didn't use the available bathroom and laundry facilities. A park with these amenities would be a decent buy at this price regardless where situated, but in this location--on a hilltop overlooking the bay and harbor--it is a great value. Only downsides are that the park is a bit rough overall (bumpy gravel roads, primitive signage, credit cards not accepted, etc.) and having to repeatedly take down and replace a chain across the entrance. We camped at Island Cove Park in a Motorhome.

For a good meal provided by a charming hostess, don't miss the nearby Outpost Teahouse.

Tough to get to - location is everything! Bluff overlooking harbour. Many icebergs! Nice walking trails. Road being repaired, so better access in future. Only 9 sites with water (boil order - don't drink) and 20A electric (a lot of fluctuation - from 109v to 134v - my EMS kept shutting it down as it went up). But the location made up for the shortcomings. Good cell reception but no WiFi except in town supposedly. We camped at Island Cove Park in a Motorhome.

This is absolutely a wonderful find for a RV park. The park is located on a 500 foot bluff over looking the Cove, Harbor and open sea. The manager is a great person to deal with and very friendly. We had planned on staying a couple of days and ended up staying two weeks. It was hard to leave this park as we daily saw whales, icebergs and dolphins from our site. The park also has several walking trails, one leading up another several hundred feet to a lookout with beautiful view of the area. The site only had 20 amp electric and water, but the park does have a dump station. Not only was the park friendly, by the whole town of La Scie was also. This is the number one spot we have stayed at in our seven years of fulltiming. Yes, we'll be back. We camped at Island Cove Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This small campground owned by the town has a striking view of the sea and wonderful hiking trails and overlooks where fishing boats pass by and icebergs, birds and whales are often spotted. A trail down leads to a rocky beach. It has 9 serviced sites with picnic tables and fire rings. There are laundry facilities, a men's and a women's bathroom, picnic area and small playground. We loved our site here on the Baie Verte Peninsula on the French Shore. Only cash accepted. We camped at Island Cove Park in a Motorhome.
