Oct 2016 - $1.00
Plenty of things to do - kids enjoyed the game room and fishing. - Reteze
Jun 2016 - $1.00
Well equipped and maintained clubhouse, pool shower/changing room. Adult pool is large; nice hot tub. The Family/kids pool area is really well done with a Jungle Gym, ice cream shop and restaurant. The restaurant is priced for families on a budget.
Our site was perfectly level, large and grassy.
NOTE: the waste water pipe does not have a threaded attachment style so bring an adapter. I use a 3" diameter by 12" long PVC pipe with a standard RV sewer line elbow adapted. Worked well. - GaHoosier
Feb 2016 - $3.00
Easy access to I85. Very nice and helpful staff. Large sites, mostly well maintained. Many long term campers, but plenty of sites for short term stays. Wifi costs extra, but well worth the couple of dollars. Most sites are back in. However, we were able to get out 43 ft MH in pretty easily. Would like to see this place in summer, I imagine it would be very nice. Stayed a week this time and would stay again. - westwill3
Nov 2016 - $33.00
Stayed in slot 38, which is a nice level wide and close to bath house location.
All slots on that side, 38 - 44 are reasonably flat. On the other side slots 37 - 31 have a varying degree of slope front to back with ones in middle of row needing some 8" or so of wood to level.
Same issue with slots 24 -30 worse in middle and better toward ends.
slots 1-16 appeared to be mostly level with some front to back slope.
When you enter the park off side street be sure to turn left at first road and then to right to park to go into office to check in.
The Park consist of a lot of activities area's including 2 nice golf courses and a BMX course. There is a nice dog park just a short distance from the RV area so a nice place to run the dog.
Bath house is nothing special but is heated with no coin meters for showers like you see up north..:) The door is locked with code from office on paper work at check in.
WIFI was good at our site but hard to get when in Airstream. Walk outside and good to go. Did notice the antennas appear to be mounted up by the host sites and dumpster area and pointing toward the RV area so not sure how good the signal is for slots 1-16 at far end of RV area.
When we were there with WBCCI rally, Piedmont unit 106, they were getting to open the Christmas light drive which looked to be fabulous. - carl2591
Jul 2016 - $35.00
Stayed here for a week while our child attended the STEM Program at Wake Forest University. My brother was with us, who has COPD. We were told we could use the golf cart for him to use, but once here, you could only go to the outdated bathhouse. All park amenities were at least a mile from the campground. Very unlevel lots. NO CABLE!!! The park hosts say Time Warner Cable recently changed the park to digital, and it has left the lots with NO SERVICE. I will not stay here again. Park is fairly clean, with beautiful gardens, you just have to get in the car to drive to everything. There are only a few level lots. - John-Teresa Lynch
Jun 2016 - $33.00
A city owned park. Nicely landscaped and clean. Well maintained. Asphalt, FHU-20/30/50 but numerous sites are seriously tilted. My Auto Level grounded the fiver's front jacks and we had to manually level, noting a tilt to the left. Sewer pipes just a bit too high (tended to drain "uphill"). Roads are asphalt and wide enough for the angled back-in (all sites are back-in). All utilities are at the rear of the sites. Sites are very roomy and the CG is big but I only saw one restroom/shower building to service everyone. - StephenK
Oct 2014 - $30.00
The roads were terrible and needed major upkeep. The campground was very difficult to get in and out. The water pressure was very low which made taking a shower and flushing the toilet unpleasant. - Fulltimersrv
Oct 2013 - $48.00
We unhooked and did a drive thru in our tow and glad we did. The roads are narrow and in need of repair. Tree limbs hang low and will catch all RV's regardless of height. The restrooms need cleaning and work. Most of the sites are small, the full timers have taken all the "good" sites, and visitors have the left overs. We could not get our 40 foot motor home in and out. We did not stay. - tandkj
Aug 2013 - $50.00
This large campground is almost full of permanent campers. Most are older models that are really ran down, which makes the whole campground look bad. Sites are very small and difficult to extend slides and awnings without hitting trees or camper next to yours. Low hanging tree limbs hanging down. Pools are nice. Cable is good. Bathhouse's are nasty. Only wireless is near the pool and at the office. Power went off two times during our stay. One major problem are the mosquitoes. Teenagers on golf carts are a problem. Staff are very friendly, and know that improvements are needed. But with a large corporation owning this campground, funds are limited on their behalf. Beware if the clouds get thick, the manager will close the pools for hours, anticipating a storm. We will probably not return. - jabberb
May 2016 - $45.00
This campground is way overpriced. Sites are grass and get very soggy when it rains. WiFi only worked outside our trailer and even that was spotty. There is no cable. Did not use the showers as it would we would have had to walk back to our campsite in the soggy grass. Did look at the restrooms, there were okay. Had planned to stay 2 nights, but changed our minds because of the price. - srqcampers
Nov 2015 - $45.00
This campground was just reopened and the new owner is making a lot of positive improvements to the park. We stayed for the entire week of Thanksgiving so as you might imagine it was pretty quiet with only about 10 sites occupied during the week. It was quiet and clean. No junkie sites. Salisbury is just down the road about 5 miles with all the shopping you'll ever need as well as historical tours. We stopped by in the early fall one weekend while the park was pretty active and there was a lot of things going on. There was a big horseshoe tournament that day. Kids were paddle boating in the lake and we were able to speak to a lot of people in the short time we were there. We're thinking this may be our spring and fall park when we transition to full-time snow birds in the next year or so. You'll like Carolina Country CG, trust us. - Jim White Statesville NC
Jun 2011 - $7.00
Wi-Fi has a charge if you want it at your site. Said there is free Wi-Fi at office. Washing machines were out of order. Nice wooded area with a lake and pull through and backin sites. Satellite can be gotten from some sites not from all. Ask at office for a satellite friendly one. Most sites 30amp some are being upgraded to 50 amp. Overall we enjoyed campground and would return. - Mitchelmal

Sep 2016 - $38.00
Easy access on and off I-77 and I-40. The CG was clean and well maintained with a friendly and accommodating staff. I had a pull through with full hookups. We didn't hear the road noise mentioned by others most likely because we were located in the back of the CG. WiFi was the fastest when compared to other CGs we visited. We would stay here again. - Russ60
Aug 2016 - $50.00
Overall it was a pleasant 2 night stay. Sites are VERY close together. Our site (14) was on a row of long term campers. It was level and shaded but very narrow so no room at all to spread out.
The campground is older and dated but quiet and seemed well maintained for the most part. The roads throughout the campground could definitely use some fresh gravel. As well, the gravel at our site was sparse and there were some muddy spots to maneuver around.
There are plenty of fun amenities for the kids. We used the pool (nice & big), jumping pillow, game room, fishing pond, playground and basketball court.
The reasons I didn't rate above average were because of how close we were to the next camper, how cramped our site was and the condition of the roads. - LynchPartyof8
Jul 2016 - $43.00
Gravel interior with a wicked angled speed bump-watch your cabinets-they will fly open!! Large beautiful, spacious and shaded site with lounge chairs and grill. Good cable but WiFi is a bit slow. We stayed one night in a motor home-would stay again. - runamuka
Nov 2016 - $38.00
We visited Cross Winds at the suggestion of family and friends and had a great time! We arrived at night and found it a bit tough to back in and get level due to low spots on the site that we couldn't see well in the dark. The site we were on (at the end of row B) was very wooded and private. My parents stayed in the site next to us and we enjoyed hiking through the trees woods to go visit them. We have already booked another trip next month. Trash cans at each site and the hookup locations were convenient for us. We are looking forward to trying out the new section that is currently being constructed. Looking forward to returning soon! - Megan McGrath
Oct 2016 - $38.00
We really liked this campground, we picked it out of the reviews to get out of the hurricane path that was coming up the coast. Our site was spacious, although not quite level - but that was easy to correct. The wi-fi was weak - but that wasn't a problem either. - Patches
Oct 2016 - $38.00
Park staff are friendly and courteous. The park is very clean and well kept. The site was very spacious, includes a fire ring and picnic table. Our children loved the playground and duck pond, we did not fish this trip. Overall a great camping experience and we would gladly return. - Ldon
Jul 2013 - $24.00
We would not stay here again. If we could have gotten a refund we would have left. OLD restrooms and showers that had bugs, frogs, no heat or air, and one stall had the lights not working. This "campground" is filled with old campers, 5th wheels, and horse trailers that people are living in. It is WAY off the highway and in a valley so there are no views. It does have a laundry. We almost had a cell phone signal. The person who checked us in was nice and helpful when we asked questions. - BorntoCruise
Jul 2010 - $16.00
Quiet, level, clean park. It does not have a pool or game room but, if you are looking for a nice inexpensive place to camp while in the Mt. Airy, Pilot Mt. and Winston-Salem area this is the place to stay. It does have a decent playground for kids. We enjoyed our three nights staying there and will go back. - Oldman5145
May 2016 - $25.00
This is a mobile home park with a few spots for RVs. Mainly older units that are in need of repair. The roads were paved. Our spot was level. The first spot he wanted to put us in was very muddy and not level, so he did move us. This spot was grass with some gravel in the muddy spots. He does charge by the day, not night . So 4 nights is 5 days, you pay for 5 days. No bath house, you must be self-contained. The park is quiet and no one bothers you. - esta34950
Jun 2012 - $25.00
We camped here on our very first trip in our camper. The sites are fairly level and very shaded. There is no Wi-Fi or cable but it has an amazing peaceful atmosphere. As far as things to do for children there isn't anything. However, they have a huge field that you can play whatever sport you want in. The view of Pilot Mountain was awesome. The manager of the camp was super nice and very helpful. They do have a dump station but no sewer hookups. Overall we had a great time. We would go again. - HappyCampers6
Sep 2011 - $25.00
Beautiful campground at the foot of Pilot Mountain with some of the best views and sunsets. Large stage with various events throughout the year, esp. bluegrass, Smilefest, Bobstock, scouting jamborees, mud runs, weddings. I have stayed there 30+ times, and it is a 4 hour drive for me. The owner is very nice, but also firm enough to keep trouble out/away. I caught a 5 lb bass in their lake so bring your poles. - ReelEKeen
Nov 2016 - $40.00
Just an overnight stay on way further south. Paid $40.00, with $5 discount for Good Sam. Price too high for what we got. That said, we had a 60 foot site, so we didn't have to unhook Toad. Electric was good, as was water. Campground was only about 1-2 miles of I-77. - JJ & CC
Aug 2016 - $45.00
The only reason I gave an 8 review was no cable tv and I could not watch the Olympics :)
The park is very pretty, tree shaded level lots, green grass, lots of birds and 2 friendly park dogs. The owners are very nice and helpful. - Masons love rving
Aug 2015 - $40.00
Very, very un-level sites, very poor water pressure. Lots of trees so the satellite did not work; no cable. Gravel roads, gravel, clay and grass site. Pretty pastures, mostly full time campers. - Joe-Sandy
