It's an unusual setup for an RV park. While there's spacing between sites, there's little room for anything else . There's a double row of RVs on the upper level, another below the cliff and others off the main road. There's a couple who wash and wax RVs for $10 a foot, $15 with Teflon. They spent 10 hours on our 42 ft Winnebago, including the roof and it never looked better. Every time we head South, we'll stop here for them to do it again. All In The Finish RV Detailing @ 828-788-5915. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Of course there's the Biltmore... The cost made us hesitant at first...$60 per person, but the campground had a deal...2 days for $70, so we spent day 1 in the Biltmore and day 2 on the grounds. I think the entry fee and the high cost of trinkets, wine, hotels and food cover more than just the maintenance...but there is a lot to take care of.

What this park has going for it is its location: the Biltmore, the cool, dryer climate, a beautiful wooded environment and the sights of Asheville. I concur with the negative comments from other reviewers. Additionally, the laundry facility is woefully small (2 washers, 2 dryers) for this size park and functioning poorly: the dryers were not vented to outside the building. The wifi is adequate, but slows down during busy usage. Half the tree shading our site was dead and in need of major trimming. The traffic noise is very noticeable , but not strong enough to interfere with intimate conversations though loud enough to mask the noise of barking dogs, lawn mowers and other landscaping activities. The sites that are on the bluff have a nice view. An adequate place to stay as long as you don't require the services of an onsite laundry. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This was mainly an overnight stop for us. It has convenient access from I-26. The campground is very tight, but it is setup well given the area that it is in. We arrived after hours (but had reserved prior) and found our named site card at the later check in box. We obtained our pull-through site and setup urban camp. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Signage is good, but make sure you ONLY enter at the main entrance when checking in. After getting site assignment, you might need to actually leave the park and re-enter to get to your site.

Perched on the side of a hill above the interstate, this campground requires some windy steep roads to get to it. Some of the back-in sites require backing up an incline to get into the site. We were in what looked to be an add on section with about a dozen pull-thru sites right along a pretty busy street. To get to that section from the check-in office you had to drive through the RV park back out onto the main windy road and come around past the entrance to another entrance. Pretty strange. The pull-thru sites were quite narrow with poles and rocks on both sides. We had to back up twice to make the swing to get into the site without hitting the utility pole because site was not wide enough to make the swing. There was some interstate noise with windows closed. Not a lot of choices for quality RV parks in the Asheville area. Seems a bit overpriced for what you get. Laundry was very small and not very clean. Bathrooms were fine. Wi-fi was hit and miss. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Although the Biltmore Estate is quite pricey, it really is a magnificent place to see. If you order tickets online at least 7 days in advance, you get a $10 discount. Also, RV park sells tickets for same regular price as at the estate and you get the second day free. Blue Ridge Parkway main visitor center is close by and has a great movie and information.

Great location, close to interstate. Easy in/out with 40 ft Motorhome. All the park employees very friendly. When bad weather (snow) was approaching we decided to leave 1 night early to beat the storm. The owner of the park was fully understanding and gave us a full refund of our last night's site fee! It is very refreshing, in today's business world, to find a park owner that puts his client's safety before profits! If we are ever back in Asheville there is no doubt, we will DEFINITELY stay at Bear Creek again! Sites are concrete and level. Our site had a nice view over the interstate, but we didn't hear any road noise inside the Motorhome. Our site was long enough for our 40 ft Motorhome and our TOAD parked long-ways across the front of the Motorhome. Some sites are a little short in length (but there are longer length sites towards the middle of the campground). Yes some sites are a little close together, but we had plenty enough room between us and our neighbor. The road leading to the campground entrance has a couple of curves, but not too tight. Park office was well located, easy stopping area to enable going into office for check in. After checking in the road up to campsites is a little steep, but looked worse than it actually was. The road out of the campground was extremely easy! The 50 amp service worked well, box was in a good spot. Water pressure was good, spigot was in good location. Sewer pipe was in good location, worked fine. We didn't use the internet service. Cable TV was offered, but we didn't use it. Getting to/from the Biltmore Estate from the campground was very easy, only 1 exit away. Restaurants and grocery store close to campground. I would definitely recommend this campground! We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The reviews preceding mine match our experience quite well. Because this campground has such high ratings in the Good Sam campground book, I expected much too much. The sites are so narrow and crowded, we did not have room to sit outside our rig. Road noise from I-40 & I-40 penetrated into our rig, even when we had all the windows closed. We got an open site that made connecting to our satellite dish on the roof a breeze. We were given a remote control for their cable TV, but did not use it. The check-in staff was harried and perfunctory and did nothing to make us feel welcome. The campground is well located, especially for the Vanderbilt mansion and the wi fi was strong. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our first visit to this RV park, and our impressions were generally better than many of the past reviews we had read. We had a very long, level, concrete back-in site which was plenty spacious for our 43' fifth wheel plus our truck. Yes, the paved park access roads are a little hilly, but we had no problem maneuvering into our back in site. The staff was friendly, the grounds were nicely maintained, the hookups were good, there was a nice (albeit small) swimming pool, and the WiFi was pretty good (by RV park standards). Full recycling was available on site. The stinkbugs were a detraction, but that wasn't the fault of the RV park. The RV park was a little pricey (even with our military discount), but we would still likely stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is conveniently located to visit Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. It has an odd arrangement of sites but it works. They have a pool but we didn't use it, the free WiFi worked well but was intermittently out of service. The driveways are asphalt and site pads are concrete. We were in a pull through that was somewhat short and narrow (Site 12B). It was near the road and you can hear interstate traffic on the other side but this did not disturb our sleep. The bathrooms were consistently clean. We used their cable service which has an extensive channel selection and worked well. We had a full hookup site with 30amp electric. We paid $40.00 per night. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stopped in for an overnight stay on our way through. We did not use any amenities that may have been available. We chose this park for its reviews and ease of access. We were not disappointed. It was quick and easy with a great site and great hookups. The campground sites on a hill but it was easy to get in and out. The sites were a bit tight and too short to stay hooked. We had to park the truck along the road in front of the camper. Others have complained about the interstate noise, though we could hear the interstate while outside at 6:00 am, it was faint and was not troublesome or disturbing in any way. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Park is excellent location for Asheville activities. Cable didn't work, however several channels were strong and clear with the antennae. Spaces are very small, but each has grassy area and picnic table. Park roads are one way and plenty wide until the park fills up and there are cars parked on each side. Interstate traffic noise did not bother us, it is like a constant hum in the background. Everything is paved so there is no dust. Would go back because of it's location. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Older campground that could use some updating. Very busy with in and outs - close to multiple highways and the Biltmore Mansion. Paved pad sites. No fire ring. Bath houses are GI showers - not impressed. Has a pool to enjoy. Good cable channels. Wi-Fi was okay. If traveling through, it is a good stop over for a couple of days. This is a nice place to stay if you want to tour Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. Some of the spots are very tight, but others have more space. What you can't see from the campground map is how very steep the area is, so that a campsite that looks like it directly behind you may be a fifty feet higher or lower. You may or may not end up with a nice view, depending upon the slope. The biggest attraction is the proximity to Biltmore, the Farmers Market, the North Carolina Arboretum, and other area sights. If you buy tickets for Biltmore, you get a two-day pass at the price of a one-day pass. So, you can spend one day touring the house and formal gardens and a second day exploring some of the 8,000 acres of the estate. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend to others. (The laundry rooms were very small and could only handle a tiny amount of laundry, so we took ours to a laundromat in town.)
