Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Park is sandwiched between I-40 and a local road with significant road noise. They charge a premium price for a poor facility. Sites are very cramped. My rv steps ended right on the neighbors sewer connection. The site next to us puts the rear corner of the rv a foot from the side of our trailer. Forget opening your awning or opening your basement door. As previously noted the cable is strange where you use the parks remote to change channels on a device outside your rv. The cable did not work on my site. You only get 2 over the air channels (ABC & FOX). The Channel Cable repair guy came the third night of our stay and still could not get cable to work on our site. As previously posted, the restrooms, showers and laundry have seen better days. Nice folks who run this park are great but as far as I am concerned the park is very poor. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Moose Café less than a mile away is a good one.

We spent ten days here, and would come back again. Staff is friendly and helpful, the location near Asheville is great, and the WiFi is so strong that we could watch streaming movies every night. The cable TV is strange, but seems to work. The office gives you a remote which changes the channels outside, in their TV box - you use your remote only for volume. The sites are a mixed bag, located on two levels. Lower level sites, and the pull through sites, are on top of the local road - you'll hear cars and trucks at all hours. On the upper level, the even numbered sites overlook the distant mountains and are quiet. The odd numbered sites are perched right over I-40, and traffic noise is a problem. The park has two laundries - one with two washers and two dryers, and the other with three of each, and all of them are tired old machines. We had no problem backing our 38 foot fifth wheel into site 12, but we saw a couple of Class A motorhomes scraping their undersides on the concrete pads, because the road is lower than the pad, resulting in a "hump" over which you cross. Sites are narrow - your picnic table will be right by your neighbor's sewer. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Biltmore, of course.

This is the first park during our 3 month trip in which the wi-fi has actually worked. The park has nice paved roads and spaces with grass and a picnic table. It is rather a challenge to navigate because it is located on several hills but the location on the hills make the view beautiful. Noise from the interstate is significant but the location is close to all that Asheville has to offer. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Level concrete pad, picnic table, not too close to neighbors (pull-through), helpful and nice staff, good WIFI. No complaints at all. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy access to I-40 and I-26, and Biltmore

Pros: easy access, close to Asheville and activities, clean, helpful staff. Cons: weak water pressure, crowded, no place to park vehicles...many times cars and trucks had to be moved when someone new tried to back in. Only one lane in and out. Highway right next to us was very noisy. There are three areas, top, bottom, and next to the road. Next time we'll stay next to the local road...not so crowded. Not sure if we'll come back here...very awkward and cramped. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

I totally agree with the previous reviewer. The GS rating is way off base. The sites are too tight and the narrow road makes backing in a 42 foot RV almost impossible. The location is nice for access, but the restrooms and showers range from "kind of clean" (near the pool) to downright gross (lower area). We won't stay here again. This RV park is a mixed bag of good and bad. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is nice for access, just a few min. away from downtown Asheville and the close Farmers Market is an added bonus. However, the Good Sam rating is totally off on this site. The restrooms and showers range from semi-clean to downright gross. The showers have extensive mold / mildew, hair on walls and a vent covered in a decade of dust / grime. The traffic noise from surrounding roads and highway is very loud. I really wanted to like this place but it needs some work and the totally false GS rating set up a false expectation. I won't stay here again. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Park is a bit difficult to get in to but we were OK with a 43 foot RV with a towed vehicle. Sites vary as to the trees and leveling needs, and many will not fit a bigger rig. Road is narrow but again manageable to back in. These are the reasons for the rating. Camp personnel helpful and friendly and know the facilities well. Small pool a nice feature. Didn't use laundry or restrooms but park is well taken care of and clean. Wi-Fi...used our own. Convenient to get around town and farmers market just a few minutes away. Would return if we were in area. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Our site was level and had water pressure and electric and sewer, all good. The site wasn't overly long as our 32' camper and truck just fit. The sites are pretty narrow as the sewer hookup for the site next to us was right next to our picnic table. The store had very few things in it compared to other campground, but the staff were friendly. It was a good stop for over night and we would come back if going thru the areas. Best thing about this park is involved managers and staff. The sites are very large and easy to get into. Park is well taken care of and makes a camper feel wanted and at home. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

First, the good news. While the majority of the sites are back in and fairly short, they are paved and reasonably level. The RV park is very close to all of Asheville's attractions, as well as, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Arboretum, and Hendersonville. Also, don't overlook the Farmers Market and the Moose Cafe which are a short half mile drive; the biscuits are awesome. Now, for the downside. For $40, after the Good Sam discount, I expect the rest rooms, showers, and laundry room to be reasonably clean and in good repair. They were neither. A good service attitude seems to elude the staff. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Check in process was easy and friendly. The site we were assigned was terrible. It was in a lower lot behind an apartment building with a streetlight directly over the RV. We walked the park and found numerous other sites open large enough for our RV. I went to the office to move to another site. The attitude in the office changed dramatically. I was told the park is full and I could not move. I booked the site in June and knew there were open sites. The woman at the office told me I was not moving and I could just get a refund and leave. I ran into the owner as I was returning to my RV and explained the situation. He told me that the woman in the office handled all of that and he could not do anything to help. We got a refund and left. I have never met a rude person camping...until now. The campground location is not ideal. It is situated between 2 freeways and the road noise is intense. The facility id older and not being kept up very well. Good Sam rates this park as a 9.5/10 and we booked here based on that. I have no idea how they rate campgrounds, but I have lost faith in the Good Sam system after experiencing this fiasco. We camped at Ashevilles Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff was friendly to us. Our second day there we were notified the local cable company was requiring each TV to have its own digital receiver/converter. The park would let you have one with payment of a REFUNDABLE deposit. We opted out. Antenna reception was adequate. As has been noted, some of the sites can be tough for bigger rigs to back into, especially if someone is parked in front of their rig. The rig across from us was on an unleveled pad. By time they leveled their rig, the front end was 6 to 12 inches off the ground. Looked like the thing was taking off. Would stay here again. This was our Maiden Voyage in a motor home so we asked for a pull through as we were still getting used to backing up. BIG mistake. All the pull through sites are on a main road with traffic coming and going at all hours. headlights shine into the motor home all night and you are so close to I-40 that the big rigs practically shake the coach. I found the office staff friendly and helpful, but the facility is definitely not a 10 as Good Sam has it listed. The bath houses are old, and they show their age. I probably won't return.
