2 Parks near Carthage, North Carolina
Sep 2015 - $35.00
Definitely NOT worth $35, but it's the only CG we can find within reasonable distance of Pinebluff (30 mi. away) to handle a Class A 40' rig. Gravel/dirt mixture surface, little grass--no open green areas. Be careful to not miss the street; it's about 1 mile from city center.
GOOD: Entry is off a paved road with very large parking lot opposite, so it's easy to maneuver into and back out. For a satellite mounted atop the rig on the front, only the pull-thru and possibly 1-2 back-in sites will work (portable units elsewhere need to be set in the open area, susceptible to cars turning (but probably ok). The 50amp is clean and the water pressure at 60psi is very good. The Pik N Pig restaurant is just across the parking lot behind the park--haven't gone there.
BAD: Low hanging tree limbs over nearly all the back-in sites. VERY narrow sites, but nearly all do have some trees/bushes between them. Yes, they do have picnic tables, but there is barely enough space on any site to use them. No facilities of any type. No office, no CC accepted, no discounts to the inappropriately-high price. If it didn't rain every day, sun would have been on windshield in afternoon--PT sites face SW. - ragtop45
Dec 2014 - $35.00
Previous review is right on, except I thought the meals at the Pik n Pig were wonderful. There are 16 sites in a circle with the sites being very close to each other. Some sites are shaded; some are in direct sun. Most are back-in sites. Each site does have a picnic table. I couldn't pull in the Wi-Fi at all. TV reception was pretty good. I think the cost is rather high considering there are no restroom facilities at all. It was convenient for me to stay here due to touring the area. The owner was very nice and accommodating. - Hope's Mom
Apr 2013 - $35.00
Wi-Fi is weak. BBQ is fare. Bluegrass is good. It has no facilities, but is next to a BBQ restaurant and an airport. It has no bathrooms, no showers, just full hookups. Nothing else. - pcmike
May 2012 - $30.00
Great campground. Everything is just like the website says it is. Very nice and clean swimming area with white sandy beach! Great hiking trails, all kind of games through out the campground for people of all ages to play. Owner makes sure you have all that you need, and helps you with anything that may come up. Very friendly campground. I will tell all my friends about this campground. - SunShine heaven
Jul 2011 - $45.00
Have camped here many times, but last time took 3 grandchildren under the age of 8. Charged $5. per child per night. Owner was very rude to us. Advertised Wi-Fi but was unable to get it at our site. It is a nice campground if you like wooded, natural lots. The showers were awful. With no extras this campground is not worth $45.00 a night. We will not camp there again. - ShagsMom
Jul 2011 - $25.00
This is the second time that my husband and I have camped at Heritage Campgrounds for a length of time. The grounds are lovely, with campsites nestled amongst beautiful pines and greenery. The campground hosts have been most welcoming and gracious each time we have been here. We have enjoyed walking and exploring the many paths in the campground, swimming with our grandchildren in the spring fed lake, and playing on the pristine sand beach. We would recommend this campground to anyone traveling in this area of NC. The owners have much to be proud of. - lakelly
