The primary purpose of this park is to serve as a place for those to stay who are undergoing treatment at UNC or Duke Hospitals. Secondly for contractors working in the area. There are also temporary spots available. We were here from Sept 2014 to June 2015 working a contract job. The park management are super people. The park is well kept and clean. On site trash pick up twice a week. Sewer, water, cable and electric at each site. Wi-Fi is available but not the best. If we are ever in the area and need a place we would good back. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
Weekly and monthly rates are available. Close to Chapel Hill and Durham. Quiet place. Small play area but not really a park for a family other than just passing through.
Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $32.00
Managers were very helpful - squeezing us in when space was limited. Then loaning us an extension cord for hookup. In rural setting. Mostly permanent residents. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Travel Trailer.
Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $15.00
We have stayed at this campground several times & will be staying again. The office staff could not be any more helpful; they go the extra mile to make sure everything is good. FHU sites with cable. Wooded & beautiful. Sites are very good sizes. Convenient to Chapel Hill & surrounding areas. Rate reflects the monthly rate; electric is extra. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Tips for other Campers:
Chapel Hill is just several miles away. Near shopping & move theaters.
Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $32.00
Great park managers who provided super responsive service when needed. The owner was fantastic and ultra responsive to my calls. Highly recommend long term camping at this location. Very convenient to Raleigh and surrounding areas. Not a single disruption with power and water quality was excellent. The park is very well maintained. Will definitely be back! We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $32.00
This is our favorite when we travel through Chapel Hill. The folks here are warm, friendly and accommodating. Many of the RV parks in the area are close to highways and noisy. Spring Hill is the place to go if you want peace, quiet and forested camp sites. Our mutts just love watching all the deer in the area. This place is easy in and easy out. We drive a 36' MH with a tow, so tight spots we avoid. The pull throughs here are spacious and not close to neighboring spots. Follow the directions on the website because the GPS can turn you in the wrong direction just prior to arrival. When we call ahead, they always save a spot for us. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $32.00
This has been our favorite campground since we've started our journey last month. It is very, very quiet, very beautiful, and the trees are amazing! The sites are huge and you feel like you are walking through a forest when you walk your pets. The owners are amazing and so friendly. We highly recommend this campground. We came for one night and wound up staying for six nights, and are coming back in the middle of the month! We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $32.00
Very quiet. Very wooded and spacious sites with lots of shade. Big rig friendly. Hilly terrain but sites are level. Interior roads and sites are gravel. No pool, no lavatories, no store, no fires, no picnic tables. Great WIFI and great cable. This park is being transitioned from mobile homes to RVs. Many residents are here for medical treatments at Duke or work there for short time. Owner and hosts are kind, helpful and friendly. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
Beautiful mature trees, very friendly park hosts, very quiet. This is our second time here and we are planning a longer stay next year. Well lit even though heavily treed. Very large sites, felt very private. The park has the longest pull-thru sites I have ever seen. Forget about your satellite dish with all of the tall trees but local channels and cable were great. AT&T connection for iphone and ipad were great. The free park wifi was excellent with 10 megabit per second downloads. A true gem, good value, will stay here again. There are a number of long term residents but that did not detract from our stay. The park is close to good shopping, churches, etc. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
This is a lovely campground with excellent hosts who were very attentive. They escorted us to our site and made sure the WiFi was working well. The shaded lots are very spacious and well maintained with a garbage can at each site. If there were shower and laundry facilities and a newspaper box this would have gotten a 10 point rating. Beautiful campground. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
Has gone downhill since we first came here a couple of years ago. Severely overgrown with weeds and leaves are always blown on top of existing leaves causing a very bad insect problem. A little insect and weed control spraying would really help. People could not even sit out at all, much less walk and enjoy the outside areas. We visited several friends in the area and their homes did not have the insect issues. We had to put on repellent first thing each day and reapply a couple of times daily. It appears the owner has lost interest in keeping the place clean and neat. He was never around. The managers are nice, but other than taking payments and escorting you to your site, they have no authority to act on anything. The place is depressing now as old mobile homes cannot be replaced except with RVs, and owner is not making people keep their units neat and in good repair. It could be a nice location but it needs to be better maintained. We would not let kids on the one piece of playground equipment due to the worn and splintered wood. This could easily be repaired too, but it seems they don't care if kids are there or not. There are more full time working people living here than visitors. That would not be an issue if they maintained decent places. Also put bulls and other dangerous animals are on premises and more than once these dogs have challenged us. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
What a delightful surprise. This is a campground in dense woods with enormous large, long sites. A few older permanents still around, but on balance a clean, well maintained place. A little far off I-85, but well worth the trip. Quiet and peaceful, with very helpful and friendly staff. So nice that we'll try to find any excuse to visit the area again. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $32.00
This is a lovely shaded park just outside of Chapel Hill perfect for visiting the Raleigh Durham area. It was formerly a mobile home park (a few remain) but now a very quiet RV park with enormous sites, many long pull-throughs all with full hookups, cable and Wi-Fi. The sites are level on gravel, trees and shrubs provide privacy. There is not a bath house or laundry but there's a great coin laundromat just a few miles back to town. The owner and managers were wonderful, from our first contact to helping us get settled; they even drive you to your site making sure you're all set. They are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We stayed 3 nights and would love to return for an even longer stay. If you're looking for a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, this is it. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $36.00
Great location for Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham area. Owner and staff could not be nicer. They understand service and will not disappoint. Heavily wooded sites but no issues for even the longest RVs on drive in and out. Pull through site was long enough for 2 sixty footers. WiFi was perfect. AT&T did not work in lower area of CG but did once up the hill. Verizon worked well. Deer fed through every evening and kids had a ball in the creek. Could not recommend this CG any more highly. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $32.00
This is an excellent place to stay as all lots are long and level and they have cement patios. Our Verizon MiFi worked well here. It was very quiet and the management was helpful in telling us how to find Duke University and Walmart for shopping. It would be a nice place to stay for a week but we were only staying one night. We will stay here again and recommend it to others. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground use to be a mobile home facility so it isn’t your typical campground. We had a pull through space which was very long and accommodating. The spaces are gravel, nice and big. You won’t have a neighbor on top of you. We had lots of room. Lots of trees so no satellite, but they had cable. The WiFi worked efficiently. No laundry facilities on site which wasn’t good considering we were here for 4 days and it rained all 4 days on and off, more on than off so the perfect time to do laundry. Did get to watch the squirrels run around and deer pass through. Lots of fireflies at night that were a bonus. Was a little out of the way for the area we toured. Needed to be closer to Durham, but would stay here again if staying in Chapel Hill. We camped at Spring Hill Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.
