Used this park as a one night stop on our way home. This is a large and beautiful county park. Interior roads are excellent and all sites are paved. That said leveing is the biggest problem. Some sites are fairly level but others are very slanted front to back. Staff seems to know the park well and can help chose best site for your camper. Large tall oaks for shade but no low hanging limbs. Excellent FHU. Restrroms clean but could use update. Staff and camp hosts friendly and helpful. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We got to Tanglewood on their last open night of the season. We lucked out and got their only pull-through, site 10. The park has great trails and is clean and well kept. We were fortunate enough to go on the tour of lights that evening and it was spectacular. We will try to stay again if in the area. A word of caution, many of the sites are extremely uneven and would not work for a large rig. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Park has great trails, a dog run, and the Festival of Lights during the holiday season.

We ate at Chang Thai and it was very good, and right across the highway!

This is a gem of a little campground located in a huge county park. We've stayed here before and the place never disappoints. The overall Tanglewood Park offers more amenities than can be mentioned here, including two 18 hole golf courses and an equestrian center. The 44 site RV park is nestled in a quiet grove of trees. Bathhouse is modern and spotless. Roads and sites are paved, but some sites are not at all level. Water, sewer, 50amp and cable hookups worked fine. WiFi availability varies with your location in the park. The issue with some unlevel sites and the weak WiFi are the only reason I don't rate this park 10. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The park has just one pull-through site, which is quite long and perfectly level. If you make an online reservation and site #10 is open, grab it.

The RV sites in this park are mostly a great disappointment. Sites 39 to 44 are fairly level and back up to an open field allowing satellite reception and good wifi access. The rest of the RV park is sketchy. Many of the sites are badly sloped making leveling difficult to impossible, especially for large rigs. The further from the back row you are, the weaker the wifi and the more trees to interfere with satellite dishes. All connections are at the rear of the sites requiring lots of sewer hoses. Electric and water were fine. We started in site 41, which was fine, but had to move to site 16, which no large rig should be in. It was badly sloped. Make sure what you are getting when you reserve. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great park for biking and hiking. There is a farmers market there Thursdays and Saturdays.

This campground is located in Clemmons, NC, just off of I-40, but convenient to Winston-Salem, NC and is one of the best campgrounds that we've stayed at to date. The park itself a 1,100 acre park and you feel as though you are in the country, not close to a city.
Once you turn off of US-158/Clemmons Road pay attention to the signage for entering the Welcome Center (for check-in), or you'll pass right by it. The signs are painted green, down low and, I felt, a bit hard to read, so use caution when coming off of Clemmons Road.
The check-in process is very quick and the staff throughout the park is very nice. Roads into/out of park are wide and paved and the camp host will greet you and take you to your site. All of the campsites are back-in, paved, level, and shaded under tall willow oaks. The campground offers 44 sites all with electric (20/30/50 AMP), cable (75-channels), water, sewage connection, picnic table and Wi-Fi. Although their brochure states that Wi-Fi is available at the picnic shelter and most sites, we had no difficulty in picking up their strong Wi-Fi signal at our site (site # 39). Fire rings are not permitted but they do allow the use of grills for cooking. There is no fee for visitors to visit you at your site, but they must obey all campground rules. Motorcycles, motorbikes, motor scooters, golf carts and off road vehicles are prohibited in the campground/park.
Tanglewood Park (different area from the campground) offers an outdoor pool and a water playground, miles of hike and bike trails, horseback riding fishing, two championship golf courses, tennis courts and an Arboretum and Fragrance Garden. The normal rate to get into Tanglewood Park is $2.00; however, the fee to enter the park is waived for those staying at the campground. Definitely take advantage of going into the park as it is simply BEAUTIFUL!
Stayed 2-nights and will absolutely stay again! We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

While we were there, park employees were putting up Christmas lights throughout the park that will begin on November 21.

This was the forth park in NC we stayed in this trip and the first to have heat in the bath house. Nice touch. The camp is beautiful. Mature trees and lots of activities available. The hosts will make sure all is well, at least twice. On the other hand the sites are seriously sloped. We stayed in 39 and the rear wheels were off the ground! Almost all are back in asphalt. All utilities worked fine. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is my first time here and I was very impressed by the staff, and the cleanliness of the park. The only reasons I did not give the park a ten rating was the lack of laundry provisions, and having only one garbage bin which is located in the wrong place. The highway noise can be heard. I will be back next August for a family reunion. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

A very nice park.....but bring your chock blocks and at least one foot of leveling blocks. The park map does not show contour, but sites 24-37 all have a significant slope from front to rear. Our trailer tongue was on the ground to achieve level--but ultimately was level (site 26). Sites 1-16 and 38-44 are more level and 1-9 are probably the best sites. Also, all hookups are in the rear of the sites, so if you have midship sewer, you'll likely need an extension. All that said, there is a lot to like here: paved roads and sites, full hookups with cable and wifi (strong signal with a full park), and lots of activities in the park. These include a two mile paved hiking/biking trail, horse trails, tennis courts, pool, two golf courses, farmer's market, and an enormous dog park. Once you're in and level, you'll most certainly enjoy your stay. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Tanglewood Park championship golf course is a tremendous layout, 7000+ yards, and in reasonable condition, a bargain at $41 with cart. Foothills Brewing is 8 miles away with a superb selection of craft beer. The dog park is walking distance from the RV park. Plenty of shopping nearby.

This is a wonderful CG with large shady sites. It's located adjacent to a fantastic county owned park and your nightly fee gives you free access to the park and it's facilities. We were totally impressed with the lovely grounds which include a first class golf course, a remarkable swimming complex and a lovely Manor house. All are available for your use with an additional fee. There are wonderful walking trails throughout the park with easy access right from the CG. The cable was good with many channels. We didn't use the Restrooms or showers, nor did we need the WiFi. We used our Verizon hotspot. The park is located near restaurants and shopping and is close enough to Winston Salem to allow us to enjoy the sites there as well. The rate was very reasonable for all this park has to offer. We've paid much more for less desirable Camp Grounds. If I had any negatives I'd say the sites are not totally level, but that was nothing we couldn't fix with a few leveling blocks. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Love this park. Paved roads and sites. Be careful and reserve one of the level sites as some sites are extremely unlevel. But they will let you know when you make the reservation. Very large park with 2 18 hole golf courses, PAR 3, pool, dog park, walking trails, horseback riding, paddleboats, etc. Large shade trees. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very clean park. The host is very nice and helpful. Be careful when selecting your site as some are very unlevel but all sites are paved and full hookups. Cable is included in the rate. A Harris Teeter grocery store is located nearby as well as a small farmers market on Saturday morning. There are no fire rings at the sites but there are two group fire pits available. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice county park with paved roads and sites. Lots of walking and biking trails. Spacious and shady sites but very slopped. Bring lots of leveling blocks. There was a small farmers market just with in the entrance on Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning. I would have given this park a 10 if the sites were level. Our site was probably one of the more level ones. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice and helpful lady at check in. Park is in great shape with a nice asphalt walking trail. Trees could present a problem with satellite TV. Utilities are in the proper location and in good working order. The only problem we saw are some sites are not level. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Well, it's taken years, but I have finally given a park my first 10. I try to rate a park not just based on my own preferences, but as I think the majority of campers would hopefully look at it. With only one or two very minor blemishes, this park is still a 10. Within Tanglewood Park there is everything you might want - fishing lakes, horse stables and trails, mountain bike trails, paved bike/jogging paths, canoe rentals, golf courses, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, a dog park, a weekly farmers' market, and more. There is no way you could stay here and be bored. We visited in the off-season so some of the activities were closed, but there was still plenty to do. The campsites themselves are very nice. It has paved roads and sites, though as mentioned, some are quite sloped, so bring leveling blocks if you can't self level. Sites are wide and there is enough space to the sides and behind your site that you don't feel cramped. The Wi-Fi was the fastest I have ever seen at a campground, hands down. We are not TV watchers, but the cable channel selection looked robust. As mentioned, the bathhouse is old, but it was spotless (and heated). Cleanliness is a hallmark of this park. The entire facility was incredibly clean and well maintained. We observed crews cleaning streets, repainting roads and facilities, and even blowing leaves off the trails each day. In short, besides not having fire rings at the sites, and a few sites being a sloped, there is nothing this campground lacks. We will return here as soon as we can. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We were very pleased with this shady, spacious county park. Definitely will call next time to discuss a level site since the sloped ones were the most un-level paved sites we have ever seen! We spent one night using a lot of blocks to level one of those, then changed sites to a better one for our return visit. This is a great location for Winston-Salem and touring Old Salem. Also a perfect base for touring the Yadkin Valley wineries. Will recommend and return. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.
