Overall Rating:

This is a lovely campground in a beautiful park. The campground consists of 3 rows not counting the entrance row beside the host sites. All of the campsites have decent shade except 1 through 7 and 38 through 44. The dog park is very close to the campground and is huge! This should not be a concern to anyone without a dog as the park is far away not to be heard. But if you like to have a place for your dog to run, you will enjoy this proximity. There are also many trails for walking, running, and biking.

Our only impression about the campground is that it is unnecessarily "fussy." There can be no golf carts. There are only communal fire rings. No tents or canopies are allowed. Hosts are very specific about where you can park, how you must go past the hosts station each time you come and go, etc. We would not let this deter us from visiting the park or the campground. We just thought it was a bit silly.

Also in site 1 we did not have wi-fi because of the huge rig parked between us and the source. No big deal to us, but could be to others. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tanglewood park is huge and there are lots of trails for hiking and biking. There is an excellent dog park. There are two or three golf courses as well.

Winston-Salem is a great place to shop, enjoy restaurants, and look for cultural events. Reynolda Gardens and the Reynolda House are particularly worth a visit.

2nd stay here as we usually stop here for one night on the way for a week of summer camping in the mountains. Great to have the dog park nearby. If you are not familiar with this campground, read thru the reviews to avoid the sloped uneven sites. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Very pretty county park near Winston-Salem. Roads and pads are paved and wide with a large picnic table. Campground is in a grove of trees providing shade but only a few sites can access satellite coverage (cable is available). Sites are mostly long enough to fit tow and very spacious. Campground is immaculate. In the county park is also many walking trails, pool, fenced pet area and much more activities. WiFi was ok but not great. Only major issue with the campground is that almost all the sites are on slopes, many very severe. I asked for a level site and still had the two front tires off the ground. Beware very few site are suitable for large rigs. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park with 1100 acres of activities. Large spacious campsites under tall Oaks. This is a place where you should camp for a few days or more. Would come back for sure if in the area again. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Would have rated much higher, the beautiful sites were so unlevel, almost couldn't use, even with jacks and blocks. Park area and hiking trails were very nice, just tough for RVs. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tanglewood is located in Forsyth County, NC with easy access to I40. The Campground has only 44 sites and all sites have full hookup including cable TV. There are many walking/riding paths in the park and even a dog park near the campground. There are many wineries nearby as well as many fantastic restaurants in the area. A great place to explore or just kick back and relax. Campers only, no tents. Some of the sites are not level enough for Class A and Class C motor homes so check with the park before making reservations. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Checkin was easy with parking for 2 RVs available. We were sent to the campground, where a friendly host met us and escorted us to our site. Site 32 was on loop 1, and is on a slope. The sites are asphalt and would be difficult for a motor home to level. It was ok for our travel trailer, and this was disclosed prior to booking. The sites are set among tall oaks. Bathhouse was clean, and secured with a keypad combination. Wifi was spotty at our site. US Cellular LTE and Verizon internet worked well. A multi use asphalt trail backs up to the campground, with easy access to mountain bike trails. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

After reading reviews we were a bit concerned but visiting family in the area it was the closest park. It was wonderful! We got the only pull-through site which was much longer than our truck/trailer and pretty level. Some sites are not very level front to back so be sure to ask for level site. Beautiful trees shade the spots but don't interfere with roads or site accessibility. Championship golf course nearby with reasonable green fees. Close to shopping. Lovely wooded walk to a stable nearby and botanical gardens. We could have stayed longer if we hadn't been heading back home. We'll be back! Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay with lots to do in the area and at the adjacent park. There are lots of tall trees and plenty of room between sites, with plenty of space for our car. We had two issues; one which others have commented on is that many sites are very unlevel, (very sloped) to the point they would not accommodate a big rig. We had seen that ahead of time and asked for a fairly level site. We still had to use boards under the front tires, but that wasn't a problem and we were fine. Our biggest gripe, and please, managers, take heed: the leaf blower! Each day, a man was out for 2 or more hours, blowing leaves off the roadways. Why? It's October! Within 30 minutes, the roads were leaf-strewn again. Why do you do this? The leaf blower can be heard throughout the RV area and is horrible NOISE POLLUTION! It totally disrupts the peace and serenity. It just made NO sense to us whatsoever and was very annoying. We would definitely return, ask for a level spot, and so enjoy this park, as we did with the exception of the above. The people in the office are so nice and accommodating! There is an amazing dog park and lots of space to walk, plus hiking trails. We felt safe and secure, with park hosts on site 24/7. The cost is very reasonable. A truly great place...just please lose the leaf-blower! We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our favorite RV park in NC (so far!). The people who run the park are nice, there is a HUGE fenced-in, grassy dog park, walking trails, mountain biking trails, horse-back riding, and this is close to shopping and restaurants. The park is small (42 sites), and the sites are all paved and well maintained with mature trees and lovely landscaping. The wifi and cell phone reception is excellent. If you get an interior sites, you better be a pro at leveling your RV because the interior sites are on quite an incline. I suggest something between 1-10 or 36-44. There aren't firepits at the sites, and you can't build a fire at your site. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

As stated in other reviews, half of the site are sloped quite a bit. There are three sets of back-in sites, both sides of three different roads. The sites on one side of each road are fairly level, while the other side is not. But it's not the same side for each road. Consult the site map to understand the layout. When you arrive you will drive past the "exit" side of each row of sites, loop around past the host sites, then enter your site row from the other side. The mostly level sites are 1-8, 10-23 and 38-44. You will need a short RV to be able to get level in the unlevel sites, and even then you'll need a lot of blocks. The hookups are at the back of the site, so on some RVs you'll have a long distance to run your sewer & water hoses (if you want to keep your rear stabilizers on the pavement). Otherwise, this is a wonderful park. All roads and sites are paved. There are wide paved trails that go throughout the entire park (not just the campground) that are great for walking, running or biking. You'll want to drive to the pool, which costs extra, but you get a discount for having a camping site. When arriving, make sure you don't miss the camp road entrance (Campground Road), which is immediately after turning onto Tanglewood Park Road from highway 158. The signs are small and sometimes difficult to read. The Welcome Center is right there on the corner, which has a loop behind it to park your RV and then continue around to get back on Campground Road. It's difficult to realize this if you've never been there before. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stopped here for a quick overnighter on the way to the mountains. Very nice park with great trails. Glad I read previous reviews so I could pick a site with less slope than some of the others. Saw a few rigs with tires off the ground to level. Who constructs sites like this? No other complaints than that. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This county park is huge and has a lot to offer in the way of activities and the community takes advantage of this gem. The RV section is a small part of the park, but it to is popular and very attractive. Heavily wooded and spacious sites. Large and well designed dog park. Friendly staff. Close to the many sights Winston-Salem has to offer. Though the trees prevent satellite reception, the park has an extensive selection of cable channels in hi-definition! A rare bonus. We enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our second time at this park, where we stay for a few days to visit friends in Clemmons. Tanglewood is a jewel of a regional park with lots of amenities including walking paths and a huge dog park. The RV campground is well maintained. Sites are good sized and paved. It can be difficult to level the RV due to the slope of many sites. WiFi access was spotty. We camped at Tanglewood Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in site #2, no need to level. Campground is located next to dog park, which was a plus for us, and we had a view of horses residing just outside CG. The site was paved with full hookups. No wood fires allowed but we did use our Little Red Campfire gas fire pit. A code is required to use the restroom. CG host was very friendly and helpful. This is definitely more glamping than roughing it since no tents are allowed or wood fires, but full hookups including cable and wifi are included.
