Hidden gem for a peaceful getaway. We stayed in site 7 at the which backs up to farmland. Creek behind us. Nice firepit area, small clean campground. No pool or kids activities but we wanted peace and quiet and this was the perfect place. Owners are super nice. Small town but some nice restaurants and many wineries to tour in the area. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed while passing through town after a chaotic few days in Myrtle Beach. Just what we needed. Peaceful, clean and quiet. Family owned and operated. Only a few spaces with a lot of room and it seemed most were passing through as well. Owners stayed past closing to welcome us and dropped off firewood. Lacks ammeneties so I wouldn't plan to stay for more than a few days unless you are visiting for a specific reason. Would definetly stay again. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 5 nights and would return. We thought that our site, #7, was the best one in the campground: large and private with lots of trees. The friendly owners have excellent lists of all local restaurants and hiking trails and suggestions for activities. We walked to Carter Falls and Grassy Creek Winery and recommend both. Elkin is a fun town to visit. Don't miss the food at the brew pub 222 Main. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

1st time staying here. We spent 2 nights on site 7, enjoying the views and the cows strolling by. We did walk the trail to the waterfalls but did not get a chance to follow the trail to the nearby winery as the thunderstorms rolled in Friday afternoon. Really enjoyed the country setting and exploring the area. We'll be back! We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here overnight on our way to Florida and again on our way home. This is a very nice small, clean campground. Very easy to pull in and set up. The friendly owners came to our campsite both times to sign us in without us having to go to the office. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. This is a small, rural campground in what appears to be family farmland. The owners are very nice and give you their cellphone if you need anything.

The office is across the road up on a hill. If you don't plan to unhook the tow and have called ahead for a reservation, ask for the space number and go ahead and park in it. Then walk up the hill to check in and pay.

We spent one night in one of their five level, gravel, FHU PTs. There are no amenities other than wifi and the rate reflects that. We were pleased with the value and stayed here instead of the nearby Walmart for a quick overnight en route. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

It's not often we rate campgrounds a 10, but Byrd's Branch definitely rates up there! The owners are friendly and gracious, the residents of the area are passionate about their town and trails, and the campground is rural, quiet, neatly kept and well run. Our site had full hookups, a nice picnic table, fire ring and we were near a little creek. Ice cream stand, wooded trails, wineries, what else could you want? Oh, and Verizon service was strong. We will definitely be back! We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

We just purchased our 33' travel trailer and wanted to take it on it's maiden voyage to somewhere close enough to home but still feel like we're far away from the noise and fast paced city life we experience every day. This serene, peaceful and quaint campground fit the bill perfectly and was awesome in so many ways! The owners are extremely kind and very accommodating. They've got customer service down to a science! Our site #10 was gravel and relatively level. If you're looking for a low key, quiet campground surrounded by tons of natural beauty and the occasional sounds of mooing cows (what an added treat!!!), this is the place for you! We will definitely be staying here again! We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this campground for a long weekend, arriving on Friday and having a beautiful stroll through the woods to the nearby winery for a tasting. The space we had was very spacious and easy to get in and out. The area is easy to get to, but very quiet. We listened to the neighboring cows when they passed and really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed here for one night on our way up to NYS and liked it enough to stay again on our way back home. Campground is quiet, clean and not far from I-77 (but far enough so no highway noise). Easy in and out. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Our site #11 was level up by the power post, with gravel which was good in the rain we had - no water or mud problems. Full hookups. We had 28' Airstream with F250 long-bed and didn't have to unhook. Campground is small, so good to check ahead on availability. Sites vary from tent sites to partial hookups to full hookups. Some are shady and back up to pretty stream. Ours was more open (good for those with satellite) although there are young trees planted on that area, so will be even nicer when they grow. We called ahead, and the owner told us to go directly to our site and they would come down (office is across the street) and check us in. Nice! Trash is simple - leave your bag by your site in the morn and they pick it up - I liked not having to trek to a dumpster. :-) We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is our second stay at Byrds Branch Campground. We were in site 13 which is maybe 1/4 mile from campground. Very large site with full hook up, quiet and partly shaded. The owners are wonderful and will do anything to make sure that you are satisfied. This is a small quiet campground that you can relax at and enjoy the foothills of North Carolina. We are coming back this summer to spend at least 2 months at this campground. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great place to visit wineries or go up to visit blowing rock or the mile high bridge https://grandfather.com/things-to-do/mile-high-swinging-bridge/ or go up to Mount Airy and walk around downtown. Elkin also has so nice places to eat at (my favorite was Fiddles Pub on West Main St)

This campground is new - grass has been planted and covered with hay. Sites are not level - the first site we were told to take left our back wheels 10" off the ground to get level. We were told to take any other site - all but one were open. We took # 11 and did not have to block to get level, but it rained that night and we were flooded. The (what they call the bathhouse) is across the street at the off/ice cream stand about 150 yards away. There are no trash cans anywhere in the campground. We would not stay here again - Walmart offers more. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.
