1st time staying here. We spent 2 nights on site 7, enjoying the views and the cows strolling by. We did walk the trail to the waterfalls but did not get a chance to follow the trail to the nearby winery as the thunderstorms rolled in Friday afternoon. Really enjoyed the country setting and exploring the area. We'll be back! We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here overnight on our way to Florida and again on our way home. This is a very nice small, clean campground. Very easy to pull in and set up. The friendly owners came to our campsite both times to sign us in without us having to go to the office. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small, rural campground in what appears to be family farmland. The owners are very nice and give you their cellphone if you need anything.

The office is across the road up on a hill. If you don't plan to unhook the tow and have called ahead for a reservation, ask for the space number and go ahead and park in it. Then walk up the hill to check in and pay.

We spent one night in one of their five level, gravel, FHU PTs. There are no amenities other than wifi and the rate reflects that. We were pleased with the value and stayed here instead of the nearby Walmart for a quick overnight en route. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

It's not often we rate campgrounds a 10, but Byrd's Branch definitely rates up there! The owners are friendly and gracious, the residents of the area are passionate about their town and trails, and the campground is rural, quiet, neatly kept and well run. Our site had full hookups, a nice picnic table, fire ring and we were near a little creek. Ice cream stand, wooded trails, wineries, what else could you want? Oh, and Verizon service was strong. We will definitely be back! We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

We just purchased our 33' travel trailer and wanted to take it on it's maiden voyage to somewhere close enough to home but still feel like we're far away from the noise and fast paced city life we experience every day. This serene, peaceful and quaint campground fit the bill perfectly and was awesome in so many ways! The owners are extremely kind and very accommodating. They've got customer service down to a science! Our site #10 was gravel and relatively level. If you're looking for a low key, quiet campground surrounded by tons of natural beauty and the occasional sounds of mooing cows (what an added treat!!!), this is the place for you! We will definitely be staying here again! We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this campground for a long weekend, arriving on Friday and having a beautiful stroll through the woods to the nearby winery for a tasting. The space we had was very spacious and easy to get in and out. The area is easy to get to, but very quiet. We listened to the neighboring cows when they passed and really enjoyed ourselves. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for one night on our way up to NYS and liked it enough to stay again on our way back home. Campground is quiet, clean and not far from I-77 (but far enough so no highway noise). Easy in and out. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Our site #11 was level up by the power post, with gravel which was good in the rain we had - no water or mud problems. Full hookups. We had 28' Airstream with F250 long-bed and didn't have to unhook. Campground is small, so good to check ahead on availability. Sites vary from tent sites to partial hookups to full hookups. Some are shady and back up to pretty stream. Ours was more open (good for those with satellite) although there are young trees planted on that area, so will be even nicer when they grow. We called ahead, and the owner told us to go directly to our site and they would come down (office is across the street) and check us in. Nice! Trash is simple - leave your bag by your site in the morn and they pick it up - I liked not having to trek to a dumpster. :-) We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is our second stay at Byrds Branch Campground. We were in site 13 which is maybe 1/4 mile from campground. Very large site with full hook up, quiet and partly shaded. The owners are wonderful and will do anything to make sure that you are satisfied. This is a small quiet campground that you can relax at and enjoy the foothills of North Carolina. We are coming back this summer to spend at least 2 months at this campground. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great place to visit wineries or go up to visit blowing rock or the mile high bridge https://grandfather.com/things-to-do/mile-high-swinging-bridge/ or go up to Mount Airy and walk around downtown. Elkin also has so nice places to eat at (my favorite was Fiddles Pub on West Main St)

This campground is new - grass has been planted and covered with hay. Sites are not level - the first site we were told to take left our back wheels 10" off the ground to get level. We were told to take any other site - all but one were open. We took # 11 and did not have to block to get level, but it rained that night and we were flooded. The (what they call the bathhouse) is across the street at the off/ice cream stand about 150 yards away. There are no trash cans anywhere in the campground. We would not stay here again - Walmart offers more. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

The rate reflects a GoodSams discount, a recent affiliation for this park. This is a small nice, quiet, clean park just west of Elkin, only a couple years old, easily accessible and less than 3 miles west of I-77. Signs for the park are well placed along the route from I-77. All park roadways and sites are hard packed crushed stone. Sites 1 thru 7, located along a tree lined edge of a meadow, all have 50/30 amp and water, no sewer, are easy back-in, and can accommodate the longest RV's. Sites 8 thru 10 are tent sites and are located, near the office, all across the road from sites 1-7. Sites 11 and 12, 50/30 full hook-up, are about 1/4 mile west of the office. There is a dump station located near the office. However the dump station is not conveniently located for a class A motorhome as you have to pull at least 20 feet beyond the exit loop thus requiring that you backup after dumping. If you have a toad this would require dumping before connecting up the toad as backing up with a toad is not a recommended practice. Also note that when exiting from the office or dump station onto the county road, there is a blind curve only a couple hundred feet to your left making your exit a bit dangerous. There are several off-the-air TV stations available. Satellite service from sites 1-7 is limited to Dish eastern arc satellites, as DirecTV and Dish western arc satellites access is blocked by the tree line mentioned above. We were given a passcode for WiFi, but were unable to locate a signal at our site. Perhaps WiFi is only available at the office location, but the handout we were given didn't provide any further guidance. AT&T signal is weak (3G only) but usable and Verizon has a good to strong LTE signal. There is a Walmart, several restaurants, several winery's as well as hiking trails in and nearby Elkin. We recommend that you call for a reservation well prior to your arrival as this is a small park, and was full the day we departed. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very small private campground, only a year old. It is built on family land, and surrounded by cow pastures. EZ access from I-77, but really quiet! There are 2 full hookup sites, but they are separated from the rest, so we opted for a site with only w/e to be next to a small creek. Tent sites are on the other side of the road, but looked nice as well. Owners are super friendly and care about their facility. They also had a great list of places to eat, local wineries, etc. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

If you enjoy reading, be sure to pick up Sarah's books! She has written several historical novels, which were a pleasure to read! You can find them on Amazon. Look for the titles by Sarah Martin Byrd...Color of my Heart, Guiding Spirit, and my favorite, River Keeper. ( I bought them in her little store)

The two available full hook up sites are up the road from the rest of the campground near the quiet road overlooking a small field. The very enthusiastic owners welcomed us at our site after we settled in with information about the area.
There are only about 6 W/E sites in the main campground in a very pretty setting. We enjoyed our stay at our campsite, but if you are looking for a campground with full facilities like showers, laundry and a meeting room, this is not for you. We will return to this campground when in the area. We camped at Byrd's Branch Campground in a Motorhome.

The hiking trails right near the campsite are well marked and enjoyable. The historic district of Elkin is beautiful and there are a couple of restaurants nestled in the old buildings, so fast food in chain restaurants is not your only option!
