We accepted an offer to visit this property at the Atlanta RV Show. We took the tour for membership & enjoyed learning more about the programs offered. Our guide was professional & knowledgeable. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site L19 was very nice, wonderful landscaping, partial lake view, full hook ups, satellite no problem, all gravel with plenty of room for our Class A, 45 foot motorhome, tow parking across the street. Lovely landscape in this loop, however roads to this site are tight for a 45'. Must unhitch. No permanent park models or live-in trailers at this park. This campground is a bit isolated in the forest, certainly QUIET in the evenings. 16-17 miles to Aberdeen, shopping, restaurants, Walmart, Lowe's, etc. Plenty of activity for kids, walking paths, pool, camp sponsored activities. There is a general store on site too. We attended the pancake breakfast & it was done nicely! Thanks. The reason this is not a 'perfect' score is the roads & sites are all gravel creating lots of dust & dirt. We were told the owners are working on this for the future, maybe 2019? It would be very nice to have the main travel roads paved at a minimum. Another plus would be to smooth out and extend the turning radiuses. Progress is being made to upgrade the property, particularly ongoing construction to get full hook ups to more sites. Recommend unhitching a tow except for the small number of pull thru sites. Verify hook ups, not all sites are equal. Site L10 has a fabulous lake side view! - 2SimsNanRV

We saw an ad for this campground in a publication and decided to take a drive to see the property. That drive was a 3 hour drive but we had other things to do along the way. When we got to the campground, we did the right thing and stop by the office to check to see if we could tour the property. The man at the front desk was clueless and was watching TV when we came in. All we wanted to do was tour the property to see if we would stay here. He called some sales associate to assist us. When she showed up, she was very rude and had a condescending attitude after we ask if we could tour the property. She said that we would have to make an appointment to see the property. I told her that we drove 3 hours to see the property and I didn't understand why we just couldn't drive around ( un-escorted ) to see everything. Most campgrounds don't mind that as long as you check in first. She wouldn't give us any prices or details about the property. I'm sensing some sales bait and switch tactics here where she gets paid on how many presentations she makes. That would explain why the first guy would not answer any of our questions either. There was no one at the gate so we drove on in to look around! Needless to say, I was not impressed with the staff and the property is OK. The sites are all gravel, very close to together and the roads are gravel with washed out ruts causing a lot of dust. The most important thing is the sites don't look very level and very few FHU sites. I think I remember only seeing 3 or 4 but they wouldn't give any map so I couldn't verify. We'll stick to campgrounds that don't do pressure sales and welcome guest to come and visit..... - NC RV Travler

I came to this park despite the poor reviews. After an almost 3 week stay here I cannot understand why and who gave the poor ratings. The people were extremely friendly and ever so helpful at all times. The facility is older but very nice and welcoming and very reasonably priced. The hookups were very good, no problems at all, laundry was efficient, good fishing in the pond and an all around very good experience. I was working the hurricanes of which Micheal came right over us as a tropical storm and knocked out our power for only a few hours and management came and apprised us all of what was going on which I thought was excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this RV site. - Nigel G
Jul 2018 - $40.00
This could be a beautiful campsite tucked Secluded in the sandhills. We went mainly to camp out and fish. There was a beautiful Lake stocked with fish but we were advised at check-in that we could not keep the fish to eat which was why we went there in the first place. We noticed a very bad smell and it was coming from the sewage overflow onto the campground. Will not return to this camp ground nor recommend it. The road was not maintained and was very rough. Visited 6/18. - Annir
Apr 2017 - $60.00
This is s beautiful older country campground located in the Sandhills of NC. The facilities are appropriate for the age and well kept. The owner was very hospitable. We love the lake with the Kayaking, paddle boating, swimming, horse shoes, cookouts, fire pits, and fishing! Lots of things to do within a 20 minute drive. Definitely will be going more! - JoTaylor

Park is rather remote. We were greeted by a pack of small to medium dogs, barking frantically. We had made reservations for a full hook-up, as our RV was brand new and had very little water in the tank. When we checked in, we were informed that full hook-up was not available, as a tenant had extended their stay, so the site was occupied. Though they had our contact number, no effort was made to inform us that the site we had reserved would not be available. The office was a junk hoard, the entire premises were unkempt and junky. Having arrived just at dark, we had no choice but to stay the night, and we left at first light, otherwise I'd have taken photos to show just how ratty this place was. I would camp at Walmart before I'd stay here again. Your reservation may not be honored! This should NOT be a Good Sam endorsed park. I will not trust Good Sam endorsements again. - funonwheels
Oct 2017 - $38.00
Check in is handled in the owners Yurt. No desk and so much clutter there wasn't a flat surface to fill out registration form on. Somehow Good Sam has rated this very highly but it is mostly occupied by people living full time in absolutely disgusting conditions. Very little grass, no cable TV or WiFi and some disturbing views out the RV windows. Loose dogs everywhere come charging towards you when walking. Do not trust Good Sam reviews because they are obviously not physically visiting these parks. Owner was very pleasant and gravel site not bad except for the massive amounts of ants. Water pressure is decent for a few seconds then drops off to very low level. Stayed here in a pull thru site number 6 from 10-11-17 thru 10-16-17 since there is nothing else in the Pinehurst area with availability. Not a good value for $38.00 per night. We will never come back. - Stevejoynt

36' Class A pulling compact car. Spent two days. Google Maps has address wrong so keep going another 1/2 mi and you'll see the sign/gate. Park is now named "Oasis of North Carolina". No issues maneuvering around park. Most spots are pull-thru. Longer rigs would be fine as long as you avoid spots 1-5 as they are too narrow to turn into. 50A on all spots. Very quiet here with no real amenities which is fine for us. Bath house (toilet/shower/washer/dryer) was a bit unfinished but very clean. Trails are short but nice. Closest food is 10 miles to Laurinburg. A few negatives: Picnic table was not safe due to rotted wood joints. No WiFi - the owner's unapologetic answer to this was that we could just use the computer in his home or go buy a hotspot (website indicates WiFi available). Grass was cut but overall the park seemed a bit unkempt with tall weeds and a few old piles of brush. Check-in was simple but a very messy office in the owners house gave the impression of poor management. Online registration did not work and owner didn't know why. Quite a few RV dogs here and all seemed well behaved with one exception: The park asks that all pets remain leashed while the park owners' dogs are allowed to run wild. If you like to chase dogs out of your RV and watch them poop under your window, this place is for you. No attempt was made to pick up after these specific dogs. This place has only the stuff you need. The low rating is for the dogs and the "take it or leave it" attitude from the owner. We consider this poor customer service from an RV park. - RVr1992

This campground is located in a beautiful pristine area of NC, on the New River. It is a vacation place, not for passers-by. One needs to stay and decompress for a few days. The campground is grassy, shaded by tall trees, with sufficient space between sites. Occasional wildlife, such as deer jumping in the water, can be seen. It is overall very peaceful. The owner and staff are very helpful and accommodating. There is a store as well as the possibility to go for tubing or other river activities, with available equipment. We stayed in a class A motorhome for 3 weeks, left for one and came back for another 3 weeks. We appreciated that they gave us the site that we had and liked the first time. Even though it wasn't a shaded site, the climate is so mild that we had to cover at night. It was so nice we didn't want to leave ! PA rates for 5 days / week (the nightly rate above), long term. OK bathhouse, no laundry facility, reasonable wifi & verizon. - AandWK
May 2016 - $23.00
Campground is in a beautiful setting right on the New River. The pull-through sites are grass with some holes and lumps in the site. It didn't take much effort to move slightly to find a level spot. The back-in sites are grass and gravel. The utilities are good. We arrived just after they opened for the season so things were still in progress.
Campground is close to Jefferson NC for shopping and Lowes. We arrived from the Blue Ridge Pkwy.
Showers were installed well but hadn't been cleaned as yet.
Kayak rentals are available for river use. WiFi is good, no AT&T service. - Nautilus
Jul 2015 - $28.00
Nice quite location. Road through park needs to be graded as there are a few large pot holes. Also, wifi service is very spotty. Manager was very accommodating and helpful. - Shook

I own my own park model camper and have been in this park for 10 years. This park has 1511 private deeded lots and about 8 public rental lots. 6 of the lots are behind the pool area and have 30 amp power, the other two are on the main road and have 50 amp meters. There is entertainment every weekend during the summer and plenty to do in pool, lake Tillery, putt-putt and much more. This park for years was park of coast to coast but has terminated that arrangement to some degree. - Gerald Witherspoon REALTOR Thomas Realty Co
Jul 2008 - $10.00
This campground is listed as a Coast to Coast campground. Upon arriving, we found that it is a huge permanent site "trailer park". The ten daily rental sites are in a gravel parking lot. We did have sewer, water, and 30 amp service, but we were unable to put out our awning or chairs, because there is only room for six campers in a line end to end. There is no room to put out awning because other campers must drive within inches of your camper to exit the parking lot which is where your camper is located. If someone is camping in front of you and you need to hook up your tow vehicle, you are out of luck unless they move their camper first. We will never return here! It is shocking that this is a Coast to Coast campground. - T. Garrell
Oct 2018 - $105.00
This is our second stay and both have been satisfactory to very good. The park is quiet and the staff has always been very nice. Cable TV and internet supplied. Site has a little fishing pond that is great to catch and release. There is a big lake called Lake Tillery. The campground has access to it. - Cliff Connie
May 2018 - $38.00
We stayed here with a 39 foot Class A and tow vehicle. Quiet park with very few full timers. I would not say big rig friendly but very doable. - W-TBanks
