2 Parks near Flat Rock, North Carolina
Oct 2015 - $45.00
Campground has two sections. One part is larger pull-throughs and back-ins. WiFi works great in this section.
Section two has a few short pull-throughs on the entrance road, with the other sites back-ins. These back-ins are short and you are only a few feet from those backed in behind you. WiFi is slow in these lots.
The length of your RV determines which section you allowed to stay in...yes I said allowed. If your rig is 36 ft and above, you will allowed to camp in these large pull-throughs/back-ins. Under 36 ft. don't even think about these lots.
On our last visit, many of these nicer lots were vacant. I asked to move to one of these and was refused. This is when I found out about their length requirements. Age of vehicle/cost of vehicle doesn't matter. Just the length. FYI-Our coach is a 33 ft 2014 Winnebago.
We have traveled through 38 states so far and this is the only park with such rules. I thought segregation had been outlawed.
I don't know if we will return here or stay else where. This experience has certainly left a bad taste with us. - Winnebago Joe
Oct 2015 - $42.00
We were very disappointed in this campground having chosen it because of its rating. Not easy to get into, very steep access road. Very tight site access. Mud and standing water on our site. Very close neighbor. Not able to get satellite, good cable, good hookups but surrounded by mud. Good location. Stayed in 45ft motorhome. Would not stay again. - Tom Oelsner
Sep 2015 - $41.00
This park was a bit of a disappointment. It is well cared for and does look very nice and the staff is very good. However, entering the campground is a very, very steep decline. Resulting in sites in the flats with mountain and large trees surrounding which is lovely, but there is no internet reception. They say they have WiFi, but it doesn't work. We also have internet through our Android, but it can't get reception either. Also, we were on site 224 which is an end site whose sewer connection is too far (even with an extended hose) to hook up which is inconvenient. If you don't care for WiFi and don't take that end site, I think most folks would like the park. - User2520
Nov 2015 - $30.00
Called the number and recording stated there was plenty of room, so come to park and find your site. Went as directed after finding no entry sign, we soon determined that it wasn't a place we could stay as after inspecting four electric posts and finding no 30amp receptacle that wasn't broken and no water spigot without moss. Sites are somewhat graveled and are pull thrus but utilities were not good, which was frustrating. - RJourney
Jun 2015 - $30.00
Very quiet and easy to get to from interstate. Most sites are pull thru and water, electricity and sewer at each site. Gravel sites and interior roadways. No cable but plenty good OTA channels. They offer an Escapees discount but I didn't know that at the time. Wifi is available but we did not use it.
Great stop over on I-26. We will definitely stay here again. - jeffs
Dec 2014 - $30.00
An honor system park. We needed a place for overnight. Close to I-26. Only about 1/4 filled. Looks like mostly long termers. Very quiet and clean. They have a large room for groups. Somewhat level if you are shorter rv. In a 40' mh we didn't even try to level. Good tv antenna reception. We would stay here again for overnight. Don't know it they offer any discounts as we never say anyone. - burtonsbuggy
