Watch the turn coming into the park - there is an island that you you can't see until you are partially in the driveway. Also makes it a bit 'skinny' when exiting with you coach/RV. This is a lovely, well maintained park with easy access to I26. We were in a pull thru that had trees blocking our satellite dish and they sent maintenance over quickly to trim the branches back. Wifi and all connections worked and we had a very enjoyable week here. We weren't really ready to leave when it was time to go, which is unusual for us! We will definitely be back. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Hendersonville has a great visitor info center that can provide you with days worth of things to do. Carl Sandburg National Historic Site is close by, but house is currently empty as they are getting it ready for the 2019 anniversary. Asheville is about 30 minutes away and has a very fun single A baseball team, the Tourists, who are affiliated with the Colorado Rockies. DuPont Forest has lots of trails and waterfalls and is also relatively close by.

Nice 55+ park. A mixture of spacious pull-through, back-in sites and permanent park models. Gravel parking pads, concrete patios (with a picnic table) and paved internal roads. The owners obviously take pride in in the park. It's neat, clean and quiet. Trees and grass throughout the park. Less than a mile off I-26, but far enough away you don't hear freeway noise. Check in was easy. Very good value for the money. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Shopping, gas stations, and the whole gamut of restaurants, and grocery stores are just 5-10 minutes away. Binions Roadhouse(the kind of casual place where you throw the complimentary peanut shells on the floor) in Hendersonville is a few minutes further, but worth the drive. A must see is the Biltmore Estates in Asheville, about 30 minutes or so away. Plan on spending the better part of a day to see and appreciate it. It's spectacular! Not cheap, but spectacular.

A mixed facility (mobile homes, trailers, motor homes, seasonal) this was a 55 only park that we chose to visit Asheville. Beautiful bathrooms and laundry. Had a nice pull through close to the facilities. Verizon works well. Had cable so didn't need the satellite. Personnel great to work with. Would definitely stay again if visiting area. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

We have been here many times previously in our class A and first time in our class B with no slides or toad. Stopped only for the night and left early am to beat the supposed hurricane at our home near Charlotte, NC. Sites were ok and a bit more crowded than our previous class A sites. Cable was excellent. wifi was ok. About 1/2 mile off interstate 26 near several restaurants. We would stay here again. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of "stuff" nearby. Flat House theatre for plays, some unique shopping and some great restaurants. Also close to Asheville which includes Biltmore House and Grove Park Inn where we had lunch on the very scenic view patio. I suggest that you ask the check in people if you can visit one of their 1895 (year built or so) rooms. We have stayed there but have taken some of our guest thru the older rooms by leaving a credit card with the check in folks. .

Rate reflects seasonal rate. This was our second summer here and nothing has changed since my 2015 review. Still a wonderful place to spend the summer. Except for one round of internet problems, everything was top-notch. Management does things "right" at this park. Wish I could give a 9 3/4! I'd really like to give them a 10. In fact, if internet connection wasn't a big concern I probably would. The park is about 1/2 mile off I-26 but you don't get any noise from it, the park is clean, the staff is friendly, it has a nice fitness center and activities, and it's a short drive to great hiking and some cool small towns (Hendersonville, Brevard, Lake Lure). However, their WiFi is AWFUL. It's slow and drops regularly, even when sitting outside the office right under an access point. We planned to work from the park for the week. After a frustrating day and a half, we gave up on their WiFi and spent the rest of the week burning through our Verizon data plan.

The park seemed to be a fairly even mix of short timers like us and snow birds who stayed there all summer. Everybody we came across was friendly. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This was our 2nd time in this campground. It is a 55+ community. VERY quiet and immaculate. The showers/bath house were the cleanest I have ever seen. The sites are spacious on the newer side but the lower loop is fairly tight. The entrance and exit to the resort is pretty tight with limited visibility making it nerve wrecking every time we pulled out. Many HUGE motorhomes in this park and most people keep to themselves making it seem a little less friendly. No open fires. It is safe and well maintained but you will NOT connect with nature here. It is a resort not a campground. Probably won't return because we were bored to death. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We saw the rating on this website compared to the others campgrounds in this area. That is why we chose this one. We did not get to use any of the amenities, as it was a short stay. It was a nice campground. Would stay here again. Coming in the front gate is a little tight, but manageable. The sites were mainly level. We only stayed there so we could do the Zipline. Paved roads with gravel sites. Patio and table. Dog walk is a narrow strip along the back. FHU with TV and Wi-Fi. Couldn't connect to Wi-Fi or were dropped soon after connection. Hotspot for Verizon signal not good. Dumpster filled to almost overflowing. Good for an overnight, but wouldn't stay any time unless I had something in the area to draw me there. Ate at a Cracker Barrel close by. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We were very disappointed in this campground having chosen it because of its rating. Not easy to get into, very steep access road. Very tight site access. Mud and standing water on our site. Very close neighbor. Not able to get satellite, good cable, good hookups but surrounded by mud. Good location. Stayed in 45ft motorhome. Would not stay again. Campground has two sections. One part is larger pull-throughs and back-ins. WiFi works great in this section.

Section two has a few short pull-throughs on the entrance road, with the other sites back-ins. These back-ins are short and you are only a few feet from those backed in behind you. WiFi is slow in these lots.

The length of your RV determines which section you allowed to stay in...yes I said allowed. If your rig is 36 ft and above, you will allowed to camp in these large pull-throughs/back-ins. Under 36 ft. don't even think about these lots.

On our last visit, many of these nicer lots were vacant. I asked to move to one of these and was refused. This is when I found out about their length requirements. Age of vehicle/cost of vehicle doesn't matter. Just the length. FYI-Our coach is a 33 ft 2014 Winnebago.

We have traveled through 38 states so far and this is the only park with such rules. I thought segregation had been outlawed.

I don't know if we will return here or stay else where. This experience has certainly left a bad taste with us. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This park was a bit of a disappointment. It is well cared for and does look very nice and the staff is very good. However, entering the campground is a very, very steep decline. Resulting in sites in the flats with mountain and large trees surrounding which is lovely, but there is no internet reception. They say they have WiFi, but it doesn't work. We also have internet through our Android, but it can't get reception either. Also, we were on site 224 which is an end site whose sewer connection is too far (even with an extended hose) to hook up which is inconvenient. If you don't care for WiFi and don't take that end site, I think most folks would like the park. We camped at Lakewood RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.
