Very nice RV Park. Stayed with a 38' MH pulling a 29 ' trailer and had no problems with road going to park or dip in drive as described by another user. Stayed in pull through along side a small creek. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 2 months and it was, overall, a satisfactory experience. Our back-in site was next to the pool, but was surprisingly quiet. Congestion on the roadway, though, was chronic. Nearly everyone on our row had 2 vehicles in addition to an RV, so cars and trucks were parked all along the edge of the passageway. Sites were just long enough for a 40' rig, but wide enough for vehicles to park. Power in the campground was low voltage at peak heat in August and tripped once. Sewer connection was at the rear of the site instead of near the center with the water and electric connections. Park is conveniently located to services in Fletcher and easy access to Hendersonville and Asheville. Staff was very accommodating in putting us in a site facing north with no tree interference for our TV satellite. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Blue Ridge Parkway not far. Sierra Nevada Brewery nearby with excellent tours and restaurant. If you like raw oysters, the Surf and Brew restaurant is close by. Lots in area cities, but one favorite is the Pinball Museum in Asheville along with a multitude of breweries.

Stayed 3 nights while visiting friends in Asheville area. Campground is a little off the beaten track but not difficult to find. Sites are a little close but better than a KOA. Site 60 (our site) is set as end-to-end back-ins but is managed as a single pull-through. Everything was well-kept and maintenance staff passed frequently. We were escorted to our site. One oddity - visitors are said to be charged $3 per day to enter the gated entrance, but our two visitors were admitted without charge. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

As others have commented, Biltmore Estates are the big attraction. The house was interesting but grounds were more enjoyable. There is a local arboretum, just off I26, which has lovely hiking trails.

We wanted a campground convenient to Asheville. This one certainly is. 15 minutes to downtown. 15 minutes to Hendersonville, a family friendly walking town with lots of shops. 25 minutes to the waterfalls in DuPont Forest. This is good base area. The campground is meticulously clean. They had a guide take me to our site to plan the approach before I towed in. Nice service. Our site was well shaded but not all are. They have a nice playground and a heated pool. The lake is small and very pretty but we had no luck fishing in it. It is a catch and release lake. It needs a restocking in my opinion. You will be near your neighbors in the sites as they are the usual size of most RV parks. All surfaces are graveled. There is no grass. There is good water pressure. If you want to back up to the lake you will have no shade on your site. I would stay again. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The road to the park has an extremely sharp turn so much so that there is a warning light. Also the drive into the park has a deep dip that is not marked so go slowly. Park is clean as are bathroom, laundry and clubhouse. However, the clubhouse is in need of updating and the laundry had only 4 washers and 2 dryers working. Totally inadequate for this size park and nightly rate. I had to bring my clothes back and hang them inside to dry. Main drive that circles through the campground is paved but side roads and sites are all gravel with little to no grass. There are some sites that can handle a big rig however make sure you are put into the correct size site. The staff does not seem to have a good idea of the length of each site. I was told my site would fit up to 50 feet however there's no way anyone much larger than my 28' rig could've gotten in here. There is cable but most channels are very fuzzy. This is probably fine for an overnight stay or a day or two. However I would not stay here again due to the cable issues and the terrible laundry conditions. I think this park is overpriced for what you get. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Decent park. A few pull-thru's but mostly back-in's. Full HU with 50 amp. Gravel sites are somewhat level. Very good Wifi! Pool. Small catch & release pond. Some RV sites have view of pond. Internal roads are OK for big rigs, but not excessive. Some have low trees. Fairly close to neighbors but enough room for slides. Security gate at night requires entrance card (which they give and which must be returned). Quiet. Seemed expensive for what is offered. Can buy Biltmore Estate tickets at RV park. Might stay here again; it's OK, but probably would look for something less expensive. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Biltmore Estate and Gardens - fabulous! Basilica of Saint Lawrence is beautiful. Sierra Nevada Brewing is great as is New Belgium Brewing (Sierra Nevada is better, and offers food, if you have time for only 1); both are large craft brewing companies that have tours.

RV park well maintained. Staff was friendly. Other camping guests were friendly and we had a great time talking with them. Many sites appear to be residents, but not an issue, as they were nice folks. Lake sites are tight. Campground is all gravel though wasn't an issue, as no dust problem. Some sites are not level and are lower in the front, so bring boards if you don't want your front MH wheels off the ground after you put your levelers down. Nice pool and laundry room and clean large restrooms. Club house could be better used and attention given to the equipment for pool and ping pong games. Need more dumpsters, as only saw one, which was full by Monday morning, in the park. They seem to be in the process of making improvements to the playground and lake area, as there were mounds of sand dumped and sitting there. Unfortunately there were no group activities planned during our stay. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park with friendly greeters. If you get the right spot you will be happy. I would suggest one of the pull thrus and there aren't many. Lakeside sites are cramped and narrow and vehicle restriction not enforced. Nice walking area for dogs. Need more places to put garbage around the park. Again I stress location, location, location. Choose wisely. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for a couple nights and absolutely felt right at home. The "full timers" are mixed in with everyone else and those around our site were very cordial. There are small to medium sized trees on most sites that add a great deal of shade and give a campground atmosphere to the place. We stayed on lot 55, next to the pool, playground, and bath house. About the bathrooms and showers: SUPER CLEAN AND TIDY! I read some reviews about the staff being less-than-welcoming, but we never met any of those people. The woman in the office and the gentleman who was attendant, welcome wagon, marriage saver, etc. were very friendly. He helped us get settled in our site, spotted us the perfect distance from the sewer connections, power, etc. and made us feel super welcome. We saw zero trash lying around. All the facilities had fresh paint and were well kept. The gravel on our site and all the road areas was fresh, leveled, and not too deep. We would definitely come back here again. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a NEW campground, and as such is only partially complete. Limited number of back-in sites only, with gravel/dirt interior roads and site surface. On-site owners are friendly, helpful with local area info, and it is obvious they take great pride (rightfully so!) in their future plans for the complete park. Interior roads are okay considering park is still under construction, and are big-rig friendly. (Though, due to only back-in spaces currently ready for use, we did have to unhook the toad.) Site length and width were fine, utilities worked fine. We look forward to coming in future years as they continue to develop what will be a very nice campground. We will come again. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

NC Zoo is less than 3 miles from this campground. Walkways inside zoo are mostly shaded so comfortable even on hot days - wear comfy shoes! Zoo has a unique interactive exhibit, 'Air Hike', with ziplines, cable walks, swinging step paths, etc (for additional fee). Zoo is divided into Africa and North America continents - allow 1 day for each. Very nice Zoo! Shopping and restaurants are also close by in Asheboro, NC.

This park has a nice store in the office, and nearby stores within 2 miles have pretty much anything you may have forgotten to bring. We had a level, pull-through long enough for the toad and the motor home. We had full hook-ups on the side of the motor home. They have asphalt driveways and gravel pads. there is mowed grass around the edge of the pads. They have picnic tables and fire rings. They have screw in sewer connections. Water pressure was good. Electrical is 30 and 50 amps. There are more than 12 park models for long term residents and rentals. All seem to be well maintained. They have a great recreation hall with a bathroom, fireplace, big screen TV, pool table, table tennis table and a full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, stove and oven. There is cable TV with 24 channels and with a weak signal at our site, but with an antenna you we got 23 clear HD channels. Verizon Wireless was 5 out of 5 bars; ATT wireless 4 out of 5 bars. There is open WiFi with no password required. Response was very good. There is no trash pick up at the site. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

A few tight turns and some pesky tree branches getting in here. Overpriced for a FHU back-in after Good Sam discount. They are part of Passport America but not on the weekends or with reservations. When I called while on our way, women led me to believe only a few sites left, and wanted credit card to hold, but wasn't really the case. There are about 100 sites some of these are seasonals and there are also cabins. Wi-Fi was ok. Verizon good. They assigned us site 75 a back-in but no one in 69 so essentially a pull through getting in. A guy in a golf cart showed us to the site. They have cable, but it's not HD. Pool wasn't open. There was some kind of spill in the creek and getting into the lake so they called in the EPA. Smelled like Kerosene. Never heard what that was all about. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

We use to stop here many years ago, and since then ownership has changed. Now there are more permanent sites, and they have added many small houses. But they have done a lot of maintenance, especially adding gravel to all the sites and roadways. Our site was one of the few all concrete ones and level. Utilities were good, but WiFi was almost unusable. This park looks like it is in the country but it is cose to stores and restaurants. We will stay here again. Have been at Rutledge lake Dec through Feb. Park is very quiet, not much activity outside of people coming and going. Mostly long term residents vs campers. Parking is a challenge both for the rigs and vehicles- many cars parked in empty spaces or in the roads, making it nearly impossible to maneuver a larger rig in and out. The initial site we stayed in for 2 months was nice, level, and plenty of space for us, however most sites are double sites very close together that do not accommodate 2 large rigs with slides. We took our 5th wheel out for 5 days (which is permitted), and came back to a 45 ft 5th wheel parked in the shared site. Despite us having been in this space and paid for in advance, there was no way for our 2 rigs to be parked side by side with slides out, nor was there any way for us to attempt to park it in our own site due to all the other RVs and vehicles in the road. We ended up getting kicked out of our site and having to choose another one, which wasn't easy because of our size. We caught a lot of attitude from the workers and office staff, with no apologies for the inconvenience. We actually heard the office staff on the radio say that we should just leave and not stay here. Up until then this had been a decent park, our new space however barely fits us, and there is no where to park our tow vehicle, much less space to sit and enjoy the outside. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
