Level sites, gravel roads and sites. Very quiet campground with lots of things to do. The permanent people are very friendly and invited us to join them in all their activities. Sites available along the river. We camped at Cullasaja River RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here because it was the closest available to Highlands where we were visiting family.

We asked for a spot along the river which we got (#45) but there was no shade. Also the river was underwhelming. Small, slow moving. There were other sites with much better shade and if we had to do it over again, we would have asked for a spot with the most shade vs. a spot along the river. Wi-Fi worked well as did our phone (AT&T).

There were a lot of long-timers there. It seemed a fair number were there for longer than just the season. Everyone was friendly and we felt safe. Mostly older people. Fairly crowded. They had a schedule of events including bingo, cards, church, etc. We didn't attend any but I thought it was a nice touch. They had a large group room and there were usually older people in there playing cards.

One down side was that it was hard to find someone in the office. It wasn't consistently open during business hours which was frustrating. They did have a nice selection of movies (no charge) which was a bonus. However there was no drop-off box or slot to put the movies in and we didn't want to call the emergency number because it clearly wasn't an emergency.

The bathrooms and showers were impressively clean.

Overall, this was a convenient stop, but next time we'd try something else. If you want to hang out with a pleasant group of older people that like to play cards, bingo, etc. it might be for you. We camped at Cullasaja River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Avoid taking a RV north from this campgrounds to Highlands. The road is **very** curvy, narrow, and the locals whip around the roads super fast. It was a challenge just in a regular car. Can't imagine trying to do it in a RV, especially a large one.

This park is a hidden gem. We booked last minute for Memorial Day weekend and were pleasantly surprised. Our initial impression was not good as there are many run down trailers around. But the more transient sites were level pull-throughs and we were joined by several other motorhomes. The park was very quiet and friendly. It is on a pristine river with a brook and area for swimming and canoeing. There is a large pet area. We were 5 minutes from Franklin and shops and restaurants. There are fancier parks in the area but this is a great spot and a bargain. We camped at Cullasaja River RV Park in a Motorhome.

A great location between Franklin and Highlands. Park is also close to the quaint town of Dillsboro. The owner was very helpful and was on site. We had a river view and it was beautiful when we were there in October with the fall foliage changing colors. All the services were excellent and the price includes cable tv and wi-fi. The park is very clean and beautiful with trees. A convenience store and restaurant are next door. There is a large grassy area for your pet. We hope to visit again next fall. We camped at Cullasaja River RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Park is made up with mainly long term renters. Many people leave their camper here full time. All the long term campers were very nice to us short timers. The sites are tight but nothing too bad. We stayed on the river, site 45. All of the river site are beautiful. The finality is will maintained. We would come back again. Lot to do and see, Highlands NC especially. We camped at Cullasaja River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 4 days and enjoyed this park. It is mostly older retired people from Florida, staying for the summer, but they were very nice and welcomed us to all activities. Would not recommend for young family other than to stop overnight. We would stay here again. We camped at Cullasaja River RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an attractive park for exploring the mountains of North Carolina. There are concrete patios next to each site, trees, and the sites are angled so they feel more private. The office manager was friendly, as were the other campers. There is a large field that is great for walking dogs and a gas station/market next door that also sells propane. The campground is set off the road, but you can still hear cars during the day. At night, it was very quiet. We spent three nights here and would stay here again. We camped at Cullasaja River RV Park in a Motorhome.

We camped for a week. The manager was very nice, but rarely seen. All but a few of the sites are covered with shade. They only have 4 or 5 sites on the river that are used by real campers and a few off river. The rest are full of Florida residents that stay during the hot weather. There is only of few of them that are not rude and very unfriendly. If you want a campground that is socialable and has something for the non-summer residents to do this is not the place for you. We will not return and I don't recommend this campground to anyone we know. We camped at Cullasaja River RV Park in a Motorhome.
