Gravel, back-in sites. Some difficulty leveling rig. No shade. Park is very clean and well equipped. Nice pool. Park has been one of my favorites and I come here every year, however, the park is under new management (10 months ago) with a whole lot of new rules and the owner has a bit of an attitude. I see a lot of reviews about the good wifi and the owner made a point of telling me it was "the best" (and it always has been in the past), however, of the four nights I stayed, I was only able to retrieve emails once. I was constantly getting kicked off, or just not connecting. Being that the campground is a bit remote (not right in town), 4G wasn't much of an option. The owner has a lot to learn about customer service and how to make customers feel welcome. Not sure if I will return as there are a lot of campgrounds in the area. Park use to be a 10 but with new ownership - now I give it an 8. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of shops, galleries, restaurants, etc. in town. Near waterfalls and scenic drives. Can easily stay for a week and not run out of things to do - or just sit back, relax, and enjoy the pool.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the highest rated parks in North Carolina, and with good reason. The owners keep the place immaculate and go out of their way to help you out. It's not a huge park with only 66 sites, but they have done well with what they have. The whole park is terraced so each one of the 4 camping rows steps up a little further up the hill. This makes for nice views and a roomy feel, but there is a down side. Walking the park can be challenging if you have trouble with hills, especially if walking the trash out at night as the dumpster is on the top level. The other issue is that the highway that brings you to the entrance to the park is at the bottom of a long 7 to 8% grade. Since the park is close to the highway, if you get a top row spot, the unmistakable aroma of heated brakes can be detected occasionally wafting through the rows. The roads in the park are paved, but the sites and patio's are gravel. We put a rug out on the patio to soften things up a bit, but had to be careful not to overlap and kill the grass. They had a small gym with some weights and 2 treadmills that we took advantage of, but the pool had already been drained for the winter. Thankfully they offered some terrific WiFi, because our Verizon air card struggled at best. One of the hosts said that this was an AT&T home area, and gets great signal. The restrooms were very nice and handicapped accessible. I would definitely come back to this park. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We've been here before, and loved the views. This time was over a holiday weekend, and we noticed how cramped the place felt. Sites were tight with little or no room for tow vehicles. Fortunately, a helpful staff person backed my rig into the site for me. Be aware that they will not reserve a specific site for you, so you never know what you'll get. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is very clean and nice, mostly level sites. Cable worked well and our satellite, the pool was very clean. ATT was good, their wifi was slow. Some of the work campers in the office were rude and there were a lot of work campers that had to mow/weed wack early in the morning (8am). We wouldn't stay again since it was so expensive. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We will start with the good things. The water and water pressure is good as is the power. Cable worked fine with several channels, roads are good and all sites are gravel and pretty level. We were here as a group and even though told we would be together, we were not. The site we were on was barely big enough although we had given our length when reserving. Our slides are larger than normal, the guy assisting didn't believe us, said he would come back to measure and did! Reservations over promised and under delivered. The campground is convenient to all major attractions and sights, but all on the side of a hill, some sites with road noise. There is minimal wifi and almost no cell service. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very clean and well staffed park. Sites are a little close together but well laid out. Our site #54 was a little unlevel side to side, had to add about 2 inches on the street side of fifth wheel. The staff was very helpful and friendly . Traffic noise from the nearby highway was pretty steady most of the day as our site was nearest the highway but couldn't hear it inside the RV. If you have a dog there is not a not a very good area to exercise you're dog . Not much for kids to do here but the pool looked very nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would come back . We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

There is much to like about this RV park: it is a modern facility, exceptionally clean, close to Franklin, and the staff, mostly seasonal workampers, are incredible! But, it is on a bare hillside and suffers from sites that are too close together. Most sites have very little useable area adjacent to the parking pads -- on ours, we had to place the picnic table and chairs right next to the coach, almost touching, due to the slope. There are no trees. Worst of all, the Wi-Fi is terrible: e.g., over the course of a week I was never able to get access to G-maps to help plan our local excursions. Would we stay there again? Not likely. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The nightly rate based on one month stay. Friendly staff. Grounds are kept up very nicely. Not all sites are level. Sites are all gravel and back in. If your site backs up to Hwy 441 bypass, the traffic noise is non stop and loud. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice park, which the owners are diligently working to further improve. Pool, restrooms/showers, and clubhouse are extremely clean and well maintained. Laundromat and restrooms were superb. The sites are close together and trees have not grown large enough to provide shade. Our gravel site was almost level. Propane refill was quick. As the landscaping matures this has potential to be a beautiful park. Owners and staff are friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our stay and are recommending it as a future rally site for our camping club. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is definitely the nicest RV park in Franklin. Lots of landscaping and everything is spotless. The camp hosts come by every morning to pick up your trash - and they are quick about it! The pool looked beautiful and inviting, although we didn't use it. They also have a pretty well stocked workout room. We were parked in one of the upper tiers. We did have a bit of trouble leveling as the site angles forward, so we had to block the front tires. There are also a lot of ants! We've experienced the same problem at other area parks so apparently ants love this town. We had spotty issues with the WI-FI but, again, the camp hosts were quick to remedy the problem. One small thing - we paid for an extra night at the normal charge, then found out the next day we had to leave due to a family emergency. We didn't ask, but thought they might credit us for that night since we had just paid. Our rate reflects a special spring weekly rate. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Motorhome.
