1 Park near Hatteras, North Carolina
Oct 2015 - $47.00
Rate represents an end of season weekly special. It might be different during the summer when the place is packed but at the end of the season like this its delightful. Super nice, friendly staff. We parked in a water site along a canal for an extra charge. In these sites asphalt pads are wide enough to put all 4 wheels on with grass between the adequately sized sites - plenty of room for slides, awnings, etc. Looks like it might be a different story in the interior locations - they appear smaller. No trees or shade at any of the sites. Beautiful pool. Utilities are all good and the WIFI is very good. Laundry room was clean but only 1 washer (out of 2) was working. They close for the season on Nov 1 so apparently they're not replacing it. Conveniently located to ferry, beach, restaurants, and one general store around the corner. Closest grocery is 10 miles away. They're still working on the place but a lot of the improvements have apparently been made. We'd definitely come here again. - Jeepman Texas

This campground is located in the Southern Part of Hatteras. It is quite obvious that this campground has seen better days and that new ownership is in the process of getting it back to its glory. The campground location is in Hatteras Village, which is a small fishing community and really close to the ferry to Ocracoke. We spent 4 days at the campground and we were staying on the island part of the campground. Upon our arrival we called the campground to notify them that we would be arriving late. We did not realize that the traffic through Virginia and OBX would be so bad. The only road/ route into OBX varies from 25 to 55 miles per hour. Therefore it takes several hours traveling 100 miles on OBX to get into the campground. The staff left us a map of the campground and told us we could check in the following day. We were given a map on how to get to the island portion of the campground. We settled in just fine. The pedestal was easy to get to as well as water and sewer. They even provided the cable wire which was long enough to reach our trailer. I will say that the 30amp was not a full 30amps. We tripped the breaker several times with our ac and electric water heater. The campground is slowly making improvements. There is a new bath house and laundry room. The pool was very big. They do have 2 hot tubs but neither was in operation. They had very long weeds and plants growing in them. The campground is very close to beaches, the ferry, and fishing piers. One last item that was a major set back for people on the main part of the campground. We had a significant rainfall during one of the nights/morning and the water does not drain so well. The excessive rainfall caused water to get into the sewage and the system overflowed onto the ground. Again hopefully the renovations will continue to happen and items like this can be fixed. - clw_man
Apr 2015 - $45.00
The park is located in Hatteras Village, a quaint small town, at the very South end of Hatteras Island. They cater to all sorts of campers from Motor Coaches to tents. The new owners are working very hard to bring this park back to its former glory. I understand that it had been neglected for years before they bought it. There is a huge pool, newly remodeled bath house, laundry, new pedestals being installed, and a game room.
The beaches are awesome and pet friendly. Lots of fishing and boating available. Just a really neat adventure that I think should be on everyone's bucket list.
I didn't give it a perfect rating because it still has a bit of improving to do. The owners have another park in Williamsburg VA that is a 10-10-10. I'm convinced this park will be the same in a very short time. - RobertDMcGuire
