Nice park just a short hop off I-85. Not much around in the area. Salisbury is about 15 miles down the road. Lots of good restaurants and shopping. Well-maintained gravel roads and sites. Lots of space between sites with trees and shrubbery separating most sites. Sites not completely level, but leveling jacks handled it well. Very clean and well maintained restrooms and showers. Certainly a good spot to stay if you are through the area. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice RV park/campground just north of Salisbury. Easy on/off I85 but not so near interstate to be noisy. Both shaded and open sites. Sites in open are pull thru and mostly level. Seems well maintained. Trash can at every site. Seems to be a few permanent residents but they are in the wooded area and the open area with pull thru sites were mostly empty when we were there during the week. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park even though it's just off highway 85. Interior roads are mainly gravel but wide. Many pull through sites. Site are large width and length wise. Fire pits, picnic tables, open air and tree covered sites. Has a catch and release fish pond (no swimming). Small in ground pool. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Didn't have time to check out the area. Bills Truck Stop & Restaurant is 2 miles away. Gas, Diesel, and food. Large menu with home style meals.

Weekend get away. Was very pleased. It does have some highway noise, but it did not bother me. The full hookup with cable and Wifi was great. Watched on the internet and continuously expanding. So this park can only get even better over time. Very friendly park and convenient to most everything.

All in all a great place to stay. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to the renaissance festival near Charlotte about 30 miles away. This park had a very nice playground and pool bit we were out of season for that. Dan Nichols park about 8 miles away. Great place to take kids and in my case grandkids. Spencer Transportation just about 7 miles down the same road. Before you get the museum don't miss out on Hendrix BBQ on the way to Spencer. Salisbury has a couple of theaters if you like the performing arts.

We visited Cross Winds at the suggestion of family and friends and had a great time! We arrived at night and found it a bit tough to back in and get level due to low spots on the site that we couldn't see well in the dark. The site we were on (at the end of row B) was very wooded and private. My parents stayed in the site next to us and we enjoyed hiking through the trees woods to go visit them. We have already booked another trip next month. Trash cans at each site and the hookup locations were convenient for us. We are looking forward to trying out the new section that is currently being constructed. Looking forward to returning soon! We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Park staff are friendly and courteous. The park is very clean and well kept. The site was very spacious, includes a fire ring and picnic table. Our children loved the playground and duck pond, we did not fish this trip. Overall a great camping experience and we would gladly return. We really liked this campground, we picked it out of the reviews to get out of the hurricane path that was coming up the coast. Our site was spacious, although not quite level - but that was easy to correct. The wi-fi was weak - but that wasn't a problem either. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 3 nights in Oct 2016. I was with my family, brother family and co-worker friend family and we enjoyed the stay. Park it is a little dark for walking at night, but is safe. Full hook-up and the trash is picked up daily at each campsite. Campground is very clean and well maintained.

My brother had some difficulties to level his fifth wheel due to site surface inclination. If you have a long trailer we suggest to use the B-2 site. But in general it is an amazing campground!

Wonderful place to camp. Staff "owners" was very friendly, helpful and share our passion for airplanes. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Thumbs up. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The CG was clean and spacious. It almost had the feel of a state park with the addition of full hookups. Almost. We stayed for two days in the A loop in a pull through. It was level. B loop has back in sites that are spacious but may need some leveling. In both loops there is plenty of shade with many trees between sites. Near the entrance there are sites with full sun - near the pool. I can see where this is a favorite CG for weekends. We were here during the week with very little company.
As stated in other reviews, access from I-85 is quick and easy. There is also some highway noise, but not objectionable. All in all, this is a very nice CG for a quick stop over or for a multiple day escape. We would certainly come here again. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

As far as I can tell, there's not a whole lot close by. However, a side trip to Old Salem (26 miles) is well worth the ride. It is a historical site depicting live from the 1770's settlement of the Moravians. Sort of a non-English Williamsburg. A real must see. Go to the Old Salem Visitor's Center first.

This was an overnight stop for us. Very easy access to I-85. We had a pull thru that was level and easy to get into. The showers and bathrooms were immaculate, as was the laundry room. Washing machines were $1.75, dryers were $1.50, and fully dried towels and jeans with one cycle. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was a one-night stay for us on the way to New England. It was well located just off I-85 with easy in and out. The excellent layout and ease of maneuvering through the campground is a testament to the owners' RV experience. We were impressed with the "campground" feel of the RV park, with different areas offering different ambiences. The bath houses were the cleanest we have ever seen. Immaculate. Fresh. Sites were large, private, shaded and level. Very nice playground for kids. Highly recommend for a night or a vacation. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We loved this campground which is owned by retired RVers. It is clear that their experiences on the road have contributed to the layout and ongoing expansion of the park. Easily accessible off I-85. The owners are delightful and extremely helpful. We would plan to stay here if traveling along North Carolina's I-85 in the future. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two nights to allow us time to visit the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer. The office staff was courteous and friendly. We were here during a spring cold spell. We had a FHU PT site and all systems worked well. This campground is "long rig" friendly and relatively level. The grounds were neatly kept with no trash lying around. Tips for other Campers:

While here we ate at Yarborough's Restaurant in Lexington. That's a 4 star restaurant in our opinion. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was outstanding.
