Very nice little campground, enjoyed our site next to the stream. Only 6 miles from Blue Ridge Parkway. Sites are a little close to each other - good reason to make new friends. First time camping there and would return. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a true gem. Magnifiscent setting, surrounded by running waters and trees. Secluded, on a small road that leads to the Blue Ridge Pkw. Clean bath house, could use some upgrade. Very friendly owner. No cellular reception but adequate wi-fi. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was our first outing with our new 5Th Wheel Montana. Didn't know what to expect, camp hosts helped us with some of the questions we had about our camper. They were the best hosts, very friendly , also told of local sites to see. Had a wonderful time, a beautiful park, friendly people everywhere. Really enjoy the stream behind our 5th wheel at the camp site. Wonderful cozy place to visit. Looking forward to going again this fall. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We were traveling with friends and we both stayed in a premium supersite (sites 13 and 14). Site 13 is especially spacious and includes room for parking two vehicles, a private grassy yard area, and a private deck overlooking the stream. Site 14 includes a shaded/woodsy private yard with a lovely wooden swing. The entire park features immaculate landscaping. The road up is easy to navigate, albeit winding as it travels up the mountain. Once you arrive to the park cell service is non-existent but the park's WiFi service works great for online needs. The owners of this property take pride in their park and it shows. They are friendly, engaging, and genuinely interested in what campers want/need. They provide a delicious meal every Saturday night (everyone invited!), and they had fresh-baked Soberdough bread for sampling on our visit - YUMMMM!! The park includes a large grassy area in the center, which serves as a suitable place for cornhole, frisbee, or ball sports. There is an enclosed dog park area as well, but unfortunately I saw several inconsiderate pet owners allowing their dogs to use the bathroom in the grassy play area instead of the dog run. Because of this I was glad we had a site with our own little yard area. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is conveniently located to LOTS of fun places - Linville Caverns, Linville Gorge, Brown Mountain, Emerald Village, Toms Creek Waterfall, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and so, so, so many hikes. Most of the sites are right on the stream. If you want to have access to the stream (touch the water, etc.), you'll want to ask for sites 25, 26, 28, or 30. They appeared to have the easiest walk-down access right to the water.

Prettiest park we have ever visited! The grounds were immaculate the whole time we were there. They had just opened for the season so there were a few campers when we got there but we had the park to ourselves the rest of the week but I'm sure its packed during the summer. Owners were very welcoming and we enjoyed the BBQ on Saturday night. We had a huge site on the creek (#20). Bathrooms were a little small but clean. Not a lot of amenities in the park but it's not needed. My kids loved exploring the creek and playing in the water even in the cold weather. The areas is beautiful and we enjoyed hiking and exploring some of the towns in the area. Can't wait to go back. No cell service but WiFi worked well. I recommend downloading area maps for exploring before you get there. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The hosts are wonderful and they are always checking to make sure you are happy and if you need anything at all! If you buy wood from them, they will even deliver to your site! We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

This is the second visit to mountain stream. It is a small campground with very clean restrooms, clean sites and wonderul owners! The weekend we stayed we had free pulled pork sandwiches and that just showed how much the owners love their campers. I hope everyone gets to enjoy this campground at least once, we will be back again for sure! We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The park is lovely. The creek that nearly surrounds the park is nice to wade in, and our dogs loved playing in the water. It gets really dark there at night which is great for stargazing. The dog play area is a bit on the small side.

There is NO cell phone service at this RV park. Seriously - none - so, if you need to stay connected 24/7, this may be an issue for you. The wifi only worked at the pavillion (and even then, only sometimes). Again; not a problem unless you NEED wifi. The cable TV channel selection was good, the owners were nice. The camp store has DVD's to borrow.

The owners have had the park for about four months, and even though it's already nice, they are fixing it up even more with a large stone fireplace and big screen TV. One of the owners makes and serves pulled pork on Saturday evenings (no cost), and it was wonderful. The last five to six miles from Marion, NC to the RV park are hairy: the road is narrow and windy with a few narrow bridges as well. Take your time: the road isn't a busy one, and pay attention for cyclists.

My only suggestions for the park (and these may already be on the to do list for the new owners) is a more well stocked camp store (especially since the road to Marion is so hairy), and a few more activities: even as small as some cornhole boards for guests to use. A place to wash off the dogs after they play in the creek would be WONDERFUL! The picnic tables are high quality, the park is clean and quiet and peaceful. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice Quiet RV Park, We stayed in Site #17; it included a nice deck, however, it was too small to fit my tow vehicle and there was no parking in the adjacent parking lot that fits 3 cars so I parked in front of the pay phone in the street. Not ideal but ok; it was better then parking down by the office. The Men's shower's are kind of quirky requiring you to pass through one shower to get to the other, kind of awkward. I believe there was an additional $3.00 per day fee for 50 amp. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We camped on site 17, a Prime Stream with deck site. The prime sites with decks are not very wide, but they are deep and we loved our deck over the stream bed. We loved camping beside the stream and hearing the water. We would like to return to this park and be on a Prime Stream Super Site for a little more space and privacy. We camped on weeknights only and the park was quiet. The only possible complication at this park is that there is no cell phone service. The new owners are working hard to have internet, but did not have much luck with that. We enjoyed being off the grid, and there is phone service not far away in Marion. If you must have internet, ask if that service has improved. This park is under new management, but we found the new owners to be very helpful and eager for us to be satisfied. We look forward to returning to Mountain Stream RV Park in the future. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

My family (5 RVs total) all visited Mountain Stream for the Memorial Day weekend and we had a GREAT experience! The site I was on (recommended by my parents who we previous guests) was PERFECT for us and our two dogs. No grass (which meant no muddy feet!) but lots of rock, lush foliage, a swing, and a beautiful view of the stream. So many folks walking by our site commented on how beautiful it was. Overall the grounds were very clean and it was obvious that the owners took great pride in the campground. Hwy 80 was a bit narrow and windy, so going slow, being careful, and paying attention are all very important. My husband thoroughly enjoyed cycling in the area and we ventured out to nearby towns almost every day. Cell service is completely nonexistent once you pass Dot's on Hwy 80, so be sure to say your goodbyes before you start winding your way up the mountain. The campground offered WiFi but we heard that it was being worked on so we didn't bother asking for the password since we didn't figure we could stay under the minimum anyways (ha ha). We had a fantastic time and can't wait to return soon! We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this campground over Memorial Day weekend. The campground was great, although we did not get the site we had reserved due to a "computer problem" but the site we had was great. Backing up to the stream was very beautiful, set between the mountains. The problem was the road to the campground. The road is named "The Devil's Whip" which we did not learn until the day of our departure back down it. Great to ride motorcycles on, not so great when hauling a 43 foot fifth wheel. Needless to say with oncoming traffic we kissed the guard rail. I would not recommend this road for larger rigs. Unfortunately no matter how nice the campground we won't be back. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The grounds were very well kept up. Campground is smaller and most sites are along the stream. We stayed at the Prime Stream Super site which was very easy to back into and had a picnic table overlooking the water. Lots of trees with good spacing for a hammock. Dogs must be kept off the grass, but they do supply a dog area which was nice. Make sure you have a long water hose since hookup is at the back of the site. Will definitely visit again. Everything about the park is fantastic. From the drive up Hwy 80 to the site and the amenities provided. We had our 2 young children with us and they had a blast playing in the creek and fields. The park is immaculately maintained, you can tell that they love what they do. The owners were very nice and hospitable. Their web site is extremely useful in selecting where you would want to stay as they have photos of every site available with the click of the mouse. The internet and phone connectivity may be an issue for some but it worked just fine for the limited access we were wanting. We ended up staying an additional day and not wanting to leave.
