Very accommodating staff. Rate reflects 2 day PA and weekly rate of "pay for 6, get 1 day free". Pull thru sit 56 changed to back in site 46 when we had to extend our stay due to truck problem. Both sites spacious with cable. No pool but not a concern as we were visiting friends. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very clean and well maintained park. All the roads and sites are gravel which makes it very dusty. There are no shade trees at any of the sites. Most of the sites are close together and require a little effort to get leveled.

There are no amenities except two catch and release ponds. The staff members were very friendly and had tons of information about the area. Good Sam's and Passport America are accepted. I took away one point because they do not recycle. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

While visiting downtown Mayberry, visit the quarry and learn how it was acquired and why. Ask questions about the Siamese twins: Chang and Eng. Very, very interesting.

The park is very convenient to find and get to from I-74, just be careful you find the entrance straight ahead at the intersection. No road noise from the interstate. Once in the park, check-in was easy and quick. We had a pull through site that was very narrow. All roads and spaces are gravel. Our site was a less than level: not bad, but front to rear was more than 3 degrees off.

The park is very large but quiet and orderly. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice RV resort with gravel roads and level gravel sites with lots of grass. Several pavilions and small lake, playgrounds, no pool or club house. Great park for big rigs. Good free cable, good free secured wi fi, good cell signal and open for satellite. Sites 1 - 4 overlook rest of park. Office staff friendly and helpful. Very quiet and 10 miles to Mayberry. PA during the week and GS on weekends. We will return. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is barren, no trees, no landscaping. Really just a field with full hook-ups and large gravel pads. There is no trash pick up and dumpsters were overflowing. This park serves it's purpose which is being close to Mt Airy and the Andy Griffith tourism. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

It's a quiet campground with sites on different levels &beautiful scenery. Cable & WiFi. We were able to pull up Satellite signal. There is a laundry but I didn't use it. It is close to Mt Airy & less than an hour from Winston Salem. The staff was friendly. Lots of grass for walking the dogs. If you want a picnic table you have to ask for one. We did & it never came. Our neighbors asked before us & got their's. We would stay here again. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Mt Airy is home to Andy Griffith & oodles of places to see relating to the Andy Griffith Show. There's a museum, a statue of Andy & Opie, the visitors center is a facade of Wally's Service Station with tours in a vintage squad car. Downtown is full of shops with names from the TV Show: Floyd's Barber Shop, Snappy Lunch, Walker's Soda Fountain. There are lots of souvenir shops. The house that Andy Griffith lived in through high school is now & B&B.

We stayed two nights while touring the area. The park is easy on/off the interstate. They have trash containers throughout the park and also near the office. If arriving after hours, they have a drop box near the office. The internal roads and site are gravel. Our site did require that I add a 2 x 8 under one side to level. This is not unusual as most gravel sites need adjusting. The park is about 5 miles from beautiful Mt. Airy and the Andy Griffith (Mayberry) museum. The town has a rich history in music and if you time your visit, you might enjoy one of the many festivals. The management was very polite and helpful. There is only one bath house (two stools and one shower) and it is located near the office. There are no tables or fire rings at the sites. You will need to ask for one. There are two children's playgrounds and plenty of grass for walking the dogs. There are no trees so satellite service is good, however they have free cable. The Internet service is good except when traffic is high. They plan on adding another tower in the future. They keep the park very clean. Passport America discount is only good M-Th. It is a Good Sam park. I would stay here again. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place off the highway, we were on top of the hill so it was a bit breezy but I would definitely go back. When we arrived the was a little problem about our site being ready but they had it taken care of in about 10 minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful, I had realized a week later that I had left my surge protector there and they were able to locate it and ship it back to me. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The park is in the hills of NC so sites are in tiers but the sites are level. They are open, gravel sites. Picnic tables are delivered to site upon request. There are several covered picnic pavilions and large fire rings with wood around the park. Park appears to be well maintained. There are some seasonal and possibly permanent sites but all were very neat and organized. There is catch and release fishing and well placed play areas for children. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Did not use the showers/ bathrooms. This is a good place to stay when visiting "Mayberry" Mt Airy and the surrounding area. I would definitely stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

Mt Airy town center is as it was in the 1950s when Andy Griffin grew up then copied town as Mayberry. I recommend taking the Police car tour upon arrival to town. The driver gives an excellent overview of the area and helps in deciding what to visit in depth. There is a helpful visitors center on main street also. Pilot Knob SP and Hanging Rock SP are also a short drive from park.

Nice campground but no shade or a pool so hot days need good a/c. Pull-through site long enough to unhook and keep truck and car on site; level site. Water pressure was low and campground was full on a holiday weekend. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has easy access from Interstate, big rig friendly, level tiered graveled sites, pull thrus, strong utilities, friendly and helpful staff, and some highway noise. There are no trees, picnic tables delivered when requested, some firepits, group shelters and 10 minutes from downtown Mount Airy. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and will return when in the area. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Attractive park with sites grouped into individual areas on various levels. Nice view of mountains. It is a country location but convenient to shopping and services in Mt. Airy as well as a worthwhile trip to Pilot Mountain State Park. The restrooms showers however are barely acceptable. These facilities are badly in need of rehab. If you have a self contained unit it is OK especially using Passport. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart is close, north on 601 and all sorts of restaurants and shopping, Mt Airy is of course the inspiration for Mayberry and the business use that. Although it has commercially expanded there are some delightful "small town" neighborhoods.

This is a clean and convenient park close to Mt. Airy. We stayed here as a weekend get away close to our house. The park is very spacious and easy to maneuver. I think they have spots big enough for any size of RV to get in and out of easily. Some sites are even pull through. The site is gravel, but your awning opens over grass in most sites. The power, water, and sewer all worked well. There are a few small ponds to fish in, a few community fire pits and shelters, but not much else in the way of entertainment. It is just a good quiet place to relax. We had a site looking over the pond and towards the mountains in the distance. It makes a perfect "base camp" for visiting and exploring Mt. Airy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Travel Trailer.
