Conveniently located, this campground is beautifully layed out, easy access and spacious long level sites. Utilities were just fine. The grounds were clean and well maintained, garbage containers were located throughout. There are shelters with picnic tables located in several places and a couple of ponds for catch and release fishing. Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed 1 night. Easy in and out/hook up of tow vehicle. Gentle hills, no trees. No patio or picnic tables at sites. We stayed here in a 45ft MH with tow. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is the home of Andy Griffith-of Mayberry. Town features a museum, it was closed when we arrived (kinda pricey IMHO) there is a statue of Andy and Opie out front. You can also drive by his childhood home-it's a B&B now. There is also a granite mine on the outskirts of town.

Picked out of sites along our route. PPA was part of decision to stay here. Sites large, open space, no shade. Easy on off of RT81. Visited Mt Airy. Main Street, very nice place to visit. Lot of "Mayberry" and Andy Griffin nostalgia. Would definitely stay here again. Didn't use Wi-Fi, but cable was good. Plenty of area to walk dogs. Heavy rain thunder/lighting one nite. Good drainage, very few puddles in the morning. Roads solid. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

This is one of the most nicely laid out campgrounds we have been in. Large open sites. Easy access to Mt. Airy (Mayberry) Easy satellite set-up, good ATT. The only negative is the wifi. It worked for about 1/2 hour one day. Other than that we couldn't even get email. Don't plan on it. Other than that we really liked the park. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed a week. Price is high for what you get. Cable is included but as with all cable, it is a rip off anyway. It would be better to invest in a wifi setup that performs better than what is available here. Wifi goes down a lot, and when it is functioning, 90% of the time download speeds are 0.4-2mbs. A big disappointment considering the rent price. On the positive side, the power and water were solid. Roads, sites and grounds are well maintained. Great landscaping, fishing ponds and common areas. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

We found this park to be a great value. Roads and camping spaces are crushed granite gravel. Roads are wide. The camping areas are well spaced. We stayed in the premium area for large rigs which is situated on a hill offering beautiful views overlooking the park. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice park. We will be back! Very clean site and well laid out. No trees to speak of, but lots of grass between sites. We were in one of the highest sites (#98) with nice views and reasonable privacy. Some road noise from I-74 and we sleep with our bedroom windows open, but noise was not a problem. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent campground. Very little shade; nice pull-thru and back-in sites. Level, plenty of space between sites. Grass, gravel. Fishing ponds; which I enjoyed every day. Will be staying here again. Only negative; WIFI could use a booster. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Mt. Airy and the Blue Ridge Parkway is about 20 minutes away. Mt. Airy is a good place to spend an afternoon just visiting the shops; eating at Barney's café; or taking a tour in an old police car. Blue Ridge Parkway is beautiful this time of year. Visit Mabry Mills.

Nice place, well maintained, not the type of campground that offers activities. Cost was about 500 per month and included electric. Numerous pull thru's. Close to highway and local business area that included plenty of eating establishments and historic downtown, bike/walking trail of about 2.5 miles nearby also . Blue Ridge Parkway nearby. (guess-ti-mate) 10 to 15 miles. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very accommodating staff. Rate reflects 2 day PA and weekly rate of "pay for 6, get 1 day free". Pull thru sit 56 changed to back in site 46 when we had to extend our stay due to truck problem. Both sites spacious with cable. No pool but not a concern as we were visiting friends. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Well maintained CG. Somewhat terraced for a pleasant view over others if camped higher up. Individual lots not especially spacious but you don't feel crowded. About 4 miles from Mt Airy (Mayberry) town center. Wi-Fi sort of iffy but other amenities very good. While we were here a tanker truck wet the gravel roads to keep down dust. Would stay again should the occasion arise. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Was here for "Mayberry Days" and enjoyed it. Parade, displays etc. Town also has numerous large old houses worthy of a drive by to look at them. A large granite quarry is on the edge of town, interesting but would have enjoyed it more had we been able to look at the machinery. A short drive to Pilot Mountain state park and worth the drive for the view from the mountain. All modern shopping conveniences located on highway between the CG and town center of Mt. Airy.

This is a very clean and well maintained park. All the roads and sites are gravel which makes it very dusty. There are no shade trees at any of the sites. Most of the sites are close together and require a little effort to get leveled.

There are no amenities except two catch and release ponds. The staff members were very friendly and had tons of information about the area. Good Sam's and Passport America are accepted. I took away one point because they do not recycle. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

While visiting downtown Mayberry, visit the quarry and learn how it was acquired and why. Ask questions about the Siamese twins: Chang and Eng. Very, very interesting.

The park is very convenient to find and get to from I-74, just be careful you find the entrance straight ahead at the intersection. No road noise from the interstate. Once in the park, check-in was easy and quick. We had a pull through site that was very narrow. All roads and spaces are gravel. Our site was a less than level: not bad, but front to rear was more than 3 degrees off.

The park is very large but quiet and orderly. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice RV resort with gravel roads and level gravel sites with lots of grass. Several pavilions and small lake, playgrounds, no pool or club house. Great park for big rigs. Good free cable, good free secured wi fi, good cell signal and open for satellite. Sites 1 - 4 overlook rest of park. Office staff friendly and helpful. Very quiet and 10 miles to Mayberry. PA during the week and GS on weekends. We will return. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
