This park has easy access from Interstate, big rig friendly, level tiered graveled sites, pull thrus, strong utilities, friendly and helpful staff, and some highway noise. There are no trees, picnic tables delivered when requested, some firepits, group shelters and 10 minutes from downtown Mount Airy. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and will return when in the area. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to shopping and restaurants. Great free old time music jam sessions on Thursday nights at Earle Theatre downtown Mount Airy as well as live radio old time music on Saturday mornings.

Attractive park with sites grouped into individual areas on various levels. Nice view of mountains. It is a country location but convenient to shopping and services in Mt. Airy as well as a worthwhile trip to Pilot Mountain State Park. The restrooms showers however are barely acceptable. These facilities are badly in need of rehab. If you have a self contained unit it is OK especially using Passport. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart is close, north on 601 and all sorts of restaurants and shopping, Mt Airy is of course the inspiration for Mayberry and the business use that. Although it has commercially expanded there are some delightful "small town" neighborhoods.

Easy access for big rigs. Has two small ponds for fishing. No real hiking trails. No trees what-so-ever, so no problem getting satellite. Quaint. Staff is friendly. Not much to do except relax. We stayed there one night while traveling. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a clean and convenient park close to Mt. Airy. We stayed here as a weekend get away close to our house. The park is very spacious and easy to maneuver. I think they have spots big enough for any size of RV to get in and out of easily. Some sites are even pull through. The site is gravel, but your awning opens over grass in most sites. The power, water, and sewer all worked well. There are a few small ponds to fish in, a few community fire pits and shelters, but not much else in the way of entertainment. It is just a good quiet place to relax. We had a site looking over the pond and towards the mountains in the distance. It makes a perfect "base camp" for visiting and exploring Mt. Airy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit downtown Mt. Airy. They really play on the whole "Mayberry" theme and there are a lot of fun stores to visit.

This park is not really for children. It is very pretty and clean and quiet. There is a playground but that is it, no swimming pool or activities for kids. The bathhouse is way up front with the office and they only have one. I would recommend using your camper. The people were very friendly and helpful. If you want a quite place to relax and want to visit Mt. Airy this is the place for you. We would stay here again. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you go into Mt. Airy take the squad car tour they are very friendly and tell you all about the town.

We enjoyed staying at this park, The location was tucked away nicely. The campground was well-maintained. We stayed for a month and left just as Mayberry days started in full swing. We had a pretty tight spot and probably not in the best part of the campground. There are areas with a bit more space between the rigs, ours just wasn't in that area. That only came into play on a few of the weekends where the park filled up. The office staff were very friendly and helpful.

There are only a few (3-5) resident campers and a few that come in and stay a while, but quite a few weekend warriors.

I will say that we scouted out the other parks and for what we like, Mayberry was the best in the area. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites were acceptable, for a weekly stay. Laundry very dirty and only 2 washers and 2 driers for way to many sites. Bathrooms bad. Stayed in a 5th wheel. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate based on two nights of Good Sam, $30, two nights of Passport America, $16.75, plus 6% tax. Easy access off of I-74 exit 11, head south on 601 in the left hand lane. Turn left where that lane ends onto S McKinney and then another left on Rustic Village Trail . The second left is just across from the Family Fellowship Chapel after a sharp left hand turn in the road (look for blue signs). A wide variety of sites here on multiple levels. They put the transients on the lowest level. Some are pull thrus and others are backins, all are fairly level with a crushed stone base. Sites are 50 amp full hookups with a pretty good cable lineup and WiFi. It was usable during our 4 day stay, but the CG was less than half full. The laundry room leaves a lot to be desired. No A/C and the machines and folding table were in dire need of cleaning. The insides of the machines were not bad though. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground with easy access to our level rock site. interior roads are in excellent shape. Approximately 2 miles to Mt Airy and around 12 to Pilot Mountain. Office staff was friendly and informative. We will definitely return and may choose this area over Ashville next time we are in the mountains. The view from the summit of Pilot Mountain is gorgeous and worth the drive. Utilities worked fine as well as the wifi. Park is Good Sam's and Passport America. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

The WiFi had only one bar on phone, tablet and laptop. Site we had was fairly level. Neighbors DO NOT tie their dogs, two came down into campground to confront us when we were walking our small dogs. I carry a big walking stick with me. No picnic tables at sites. Stayed one night while traveling. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Directions to the place are a joke. We stopped at three places and two didn't even know there was a campground in town. At the third place there was a guy who had a part time job there. When we checked in their own printed materials don't have directions for coming in from the south. Their answer: "Everyone in the south knows where the Andy Griffith show was filmed." Also, the Wifi was limited to 30 seconds and the cable was not working. Lots of seasonal campers and some of the rigs were older than I am. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Long pull-thru gravel site, no pool. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Mt. Airy, NC. Boyhood home of Andy Griffith. Many "Mayberry" themed sights/tours including Wally's Filling Station, Snappy's Lunch, Floyds Barber Shop, replica of Courthouse/Jail/Sheriffs Office & Andy's boyhood home. Many NC Winery's close by.

Great staff and clean grounds. I had a good pull through site. One thing that really bothers me about this park is they advertise WiFi but it is useless. Down 80% of the time and when it is up it is worse than the old dial up. Staff repeatedly blamed it on the weather but other reviewers noted same issue. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed a month so I don't remember the nightly charge. Campground was well maintained. WiFi worked most of the time unless another camper got between you and the router. Only one bathhouse for the entire campground. I personally would like to see at least one more at the middle or back of the park. I would definitely recommend this park to others and would stay again. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We only stayed overnight, but it was really nice, simple, clean, and the grounds were kept well and manicured. It was right off the highway. We have a 45 foot RV and it was easy in and easy out. The staff were very friendly and they had a beautiful mascot there to greet you, a husky named Keila. I would definitely go back! We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We didn't get to do any sightseeing, but their was lots to do. It was the home of a couple of famous people including Andy Griffith and the most famous Siamese twins. We are looking toward to having a few days there next trip.
