There is swimming and fishing available at the campground which was nice. The Wi-Fi was less than adequate. The park was nicely groomed for the most part, however the bathrooms and shower house were poorly maintained.
The owners are very discriminating about whom they allow to stay more than a few hours. The "permanent tenants" are a mix of rednecks, dying middle-aged men, and day laborers. They feel entitled and do not like new comers. I could not tolerate the blatant racist remarks put out by the staff and occupants. - HonestAnswers

Seems to be a place for the locals to come and swim at the lake so there's lots of transient activity throughout the day. The sites are grass and are very close together. Most of the campers have taken up permanent residence at the park. Port-a-Potties were used for restrooms in part of the park. - Camp Fans

A nice, large county park featuring a 70-acre lake. The RV sites have 30amp (no 50amp available). There shared is water between each site - you'll need to bring a splitter and 30-50' of water hose. Spots are paved and mostly level, with lots of trees. No sewer, but dump station is available. Note that the dump station is on the passenger side -- you'll either need a long hose, or drive the wrong-way on the loop. No camp host, but campground workers were available, as needed. One small bathouse on the RV loop with a single shower. Other bathhouses throughout the park. There's lots to do at this park -- paddle and canoe rental (there's also a boat launch for your own, non-gas boat), several fishing piers, a swim/sand beach, large playground areas, and a hiking trail. No firewood available for purchase -- either bring your own or collect the downed branches. Fire pits are placed in a odd location -- near the road -- not near the picnic table * Note: Price includes a $5 non-county resident surcharge. - ricks99

Near a beautiful location on a small river. Restrooms were closed and locked. Canoes, etc. rentals available. Charming Cajun restaurant. Burgaw is a quaint Southern Town fun to walk though but with limited shopping and attractions. Has an arts center and several restaurants as well as fast food places. - d_wildemann

This campground came under new management during the 2004 season. The new owners were very unfriendly to many of the people who had camped there for many years with the previous owners. The showers, rest rooms, and pool were not cleaned as often as they should have been. The grass was not cut regularly and other out door maintenance has been neglected. I would not go there again, under any circumstances. - mendoza_ginger
