Have travelled US with our Doberman, "Levi". We always travel with him and reserve locations who are Doberman and pet friendly. Although he has MANY AKC certifications, a lot of parks and resorts who present themselves as being " pet friendly" are only advertising it, but 4PAWSKINGDOM truly lives up to their name. This woodsy park caters to canines and adults over 18 years of age. This may offend a few but is refreshing to those who look for such a place. Store has human needs but just about all items offered are canine oriented. Many site have fenced patios with grille, table and chairs. There is also a fenced area for YOUR canine attached to some of them. 7 Dog parks, 18+ wooded acres, agility park, pavilion, events, spring fed creek and a swimming pond round out this parks features. You know the owners are serious about their canine retreat when there are just as many doggie baths as there are human showers ! Really.....no they aren't our relatives BUT they and their park do deserve this review and your best friends visit, soon. We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Food Lion not too far away. Co-owner has occasional woop de do's and serves up some great chow! Pavilion has fridge, tables, chairs and that also serves as a great under shed meeting area if weather is foul. It is a woodsy setting, with that stated use fire pits (wood available at office) or some SOS. Oh, don't forget charcoal to utilize grilles on sites. They also have clean implements with them. Enjoy your stay.......Levi the Doberman and his humans sure enough did !

The dog wash station was fantastic. It was so nice to let our dogs play all day, and then have them clean before getting into the RV (there was a lot of red clay under the grass, so the dogs easily got dirty). The owners are super nice and hosted a potluck complete with games one of the nights that we were here. The wifi works, but isn't great. The sites are closer together than I would prefer (but, I'm admittedly picky about that).

This park is quite a ways from a town, and the town that it is near, is small: plan accordingly. The camp store is well stocked with food, RV supplies, dog supplies, and has a few gift items for sale. They have free DVD's to borrow. Great owners. The rating is an eight because of the location. The other campers and the owners and the dog facilities were really nice. We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

We have spent 45 nights at 4 Paws Kingdom over the past 4 years, and each trip is better than the last one. Our first trip was for only 2 nights, which we quickly learned was not enough time to enjoy the friendly and pleasant people and events at this truly unique venue! Subsequent trips have ranged in length from 4 to 11 nights at a time, and each stay has been completely enjoyable. The hostesses are so gracious and make each visitor completely at ease. They will do whatever it takes to exceed your expectations, and each year they make substantial and beneficial improvements to their lovely facility. The campground volunteers are always available to help with your campsite and facility needs, and are the friendliest you will find anywhere! Our canine companion names are Holden and Derby, are they are always over-excited as soon as we turn into the campground. They have enjoyed swimming in the pond, as well as making new and lasting friends in the 7 (yes, SEVEN!) various doggie parks. We really love the games and events that hostesses organize, geared to the DOGS and their love for fun! The catered food events are a real treat for us human guests, and the games and events are fun for everyone at any age. If you love your dog(s), then you owe them a visit to 4 Paws Kingdom. You and your canine companions will love that you did! We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Motorhome.

Great place to go and take your dogs! Exceptionally clean and well maintained! The owners are incredibly nice hosts and make you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive! It is apparent their passion, attention to detail and how hard they work to give their guests a great experience! They have activities so if you want to hang out and meet others you can; plenty of off leash areas for you dogs to romp. CLEAN cabins, showers and property! This place is top notch! Lots to do, go & see in the area...I'll be back for sure! We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Cabin.

We just returned from our first visit to 4PK and we had a BLAST. Our site was great and the fence was a little gift from heaven.. I'm not sure we'll ever be able to stay on a site without a fence now! The patio was just perfect for meals outdoors, and it even came stocked with a super-nice charcoal grill. The 4PK staff was FANTASTIC and did everything possible to make sure we had a great time, from guiding us into our site to hosting a delicious Easter dinner. Our dogs had a great time swimming in the pond, exploring the campground, and especially loved the peanut butter Easter egg hunt. 4PK even had a 'private' dog park for dogs like mine that are sometimes selective about who their friends are. We're already planning our next trip and we've convinced family and friends to come along too. I know some folks may be offended/disheartened that 4PK doesn't allow campers under 18, but I am personally delighted to find a campground dedicated to MY (fur) kids. We highly recommend 4PK to everyone and can't wait to go back! We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

We loved our stay at Four Paws. The week we were there, it rained a lot, but that was none's fault. The owners are wonderful. They are so nice and caring and their maintenance Guy was a huge help to us when we lost our front brakes. This campground is for the dogs - literally. There are more dog parks and things to do for dogs than I could ever imagine. Now that the new owners have the dog areas well established, I would suggest working on the campsites. The decks and fences are great. But the sites are not very even and the large gravel was hard to walk on. Paves sites would be great, but if not, go to smaller gravel that isn't so hard to walk on. The sites are the only thing that stop me from giving this campground a 10. The concept is wonderful - please keep up the great work! We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Motorhome.

This park is going to the dogs! Literally. They have geared this park for those of us that travel with our four legged friends. The deluxe sites have decks with and additional fenced area for the dogs to have some room to roam. Great that they don't have to be put on a run or tied up.

In addition, they have meet and greet nite - social fun, Brunch, and this year the Thanksgiving dinner was really nice. This is our second time at this park and we will return again and again and again! Bravo. We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Travel Trailer.

Amazing place to stay where dogs can be dogs! Hosts go above and beyond expectations! Well kept grounds. Only thing that could've been better was wifi strength and cable clarity. But, it's the mountains, so......

The sites with dog yards and decks are fantastic! But if they're all booked, the ones without are great too...and they will let you put up your own enclosure!

We actually got excellent results with OTA TV though. We were there for a few days and then left to go on the rest of our trip which included Hilton Head Island. We were rerouted due to Hurricane Matthew.... so we ended up going back to 4PK to ride out the storm. It was perfect! Will absolutely go back! Great time, staff was extremely great. We did have a difficult time due to lots of trees, both traveling to the site, and in the site, which made it difficult for a 44 foot, 5th wheel plus truck. Tree rubs were unavoidable. We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

Definitely dog centric campground. Dogs had a great time and the deck/fenced in area was nice for them to be off leash.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well kept. We're new to RV'ing but from where we've stayed so far, this park seems a bit pricey for the area.

Cell coverage (Verizon) is 2 bars at best if that's important for you to know. We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

We are staying here for the week of Thanksgiving, 2015. It is our second stay here this year. The owners, along with their team of work campers, are absolutely the best! Everyone works so hard to make you and your dogs feel welcome and safe. The other campers here are so nice; it is a wonderful community feeling. It has easily made it into our list of top favorite parks.

This campground caters specifically to dogs and their owners. The multiple dog parks, agility course, rally obedience park, fenced-in lake area, everything is designed for you and your four-legged family to enjoy. For those who travel with their dogs and want them to have a great experience, this is the place! No children or amenities for children. However, doggy amenities abound.

The sites are terrific. I personally recommend one of their deluxe sites with a deck and private fenced in dog area but they are all quite nice. Level sites with easy connections to all utilities. Our water heater in the coach went out just before we left on this trip. This has allowed us to utilize the bath house. It is most certainly one of the cleanest bath houses I have ever used. Plenty of hot water for my shower!

Of course, the main attraction here are the many dog amenities. Our dogs are enjoying all of the dog parks and getting to play with others. It has been a great part of our socialization training with them both. We really like the hiking trails and the lake.

With the holiday week, there are plenty of special activities. The group Thanksgiving meal was wonderful. It was so nice to meet people and share the meal. Today, we participated in a just-for-fun agility contest. Lots of barking, cheering, laughing, and fun for humans and dogs alike.

We will definitely return again! We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Motorhome.

What an amazing place to camp and to bring your dogs. The sites are spacious and private and some have decks and dog pens attached. The restrooms are meticulous as is the indoor dog wash area. They also have trailers decorated nicely for rent in case you don't have your own. Hiking trails galore, excellent agility training by remarkable owner Ingrid in a state-of-the-art facility, different dog run areas all maintained beautifully, and punctuated with humor and art. Even has a store of dog art treasures some of which are made by amazing Ingrid who has the most pleasant and fun personality and is gifted in many ways. We spent a week here with our 4 dogs. We were in a 34 Class A; you really don't want to be bigger than this. You won't want to leave but if you do the surrounding area includes Grandfather Mtn., Lake Lure, great area. We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Motorhome.

We have traveled the country for the past six years in our motorhome. Honestly, there is no better place to stay if you have a dog. Our site had an enclosed deck and a fenced-in pet area. There are dog runs for small, large, agility, and privacy. The fenced-in pond for pet swimming was amazing - so much fun for our dogs. The hiking trail was great. The creative owners provided fun activities for the humans as well as free agility training for our dogs (scheduled events). We all (dogs included) hated to leave. This was our first stay at Four Paws with our 2 fur babies & we all enjoyed ourselves. There are 4 fenced areas for the babies to run free. One of the areas is private in case you have a non social pet, an area for large breeds and an area small breeds. There is an agility course too. Gravel, spacious, wooded lots with picnic tables and fire pits. Some of the lots had private fenced areas for your pets. The bath house was super nice and even had a pup bath house. There are a ton of poop stations though out the campground. We had a fabulous themed dinner one of our nights and lots of activities for human and pup to participate in. The owners are very friendly & accommodating to everyone's needs. We camped at 4 Paws Kingdom Campground and Dog Retreat in a Travel Trailer.
