Great time, staff was extremely great. We did have a difficult time due to lots of trees, both traveling to the site, and in the site, which made it difficult for a 44 foot, 5th wheel plus truck. Tree rubs were unavoidable. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Fifth Wheel.

Definitely dog centric campground. Dogs had a great time and the deck/fenced in area was nice for them to be off leash.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well kept. We're new to RV'ing but from where we've stayed so far, this park seems a bit pricey for the area.

Cell coverage (Verizon) is 2 bars at best if that's important for you to know. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We are staying here for the week of Thanksgiving, 2015. It is our second stay here this year. The owners, along with their team of work campers, are absolutely the best! Everyone works so hard to make you and your dogs feel welcome and safe. The other campers here are so nice; it is a wonderful community feeling. It has easily made it into our list of top favorite parks.

This campground caters specifically to dogs and their owners. The multiple dog parks, agility course, rally obedience park, fenced-in lake area, everything is designed for you and your four-legged family to enjoy. For those who travel with their dogs and want them to have a great experience, this is the place! No children or amenities for children. However, doggy amenities abound.

The sites are terrific. I personally recommend one of their deluxe sites with a deck and private fenced in dog area but they are all quite nice. Level sites with easy connections to all utilities. Our water heater in the coach went out just before we left on this trip. This has allowed us to utilize the bath house. It is most certainly one of the cleanest bath houses I have ever used. Plenty of hot water for my shower!

Of course, the main attraction here are the many dog amenities. Our dogs are enjoying all of the dog parks and getting to play with others. It has been a great part of our socialization training with them both. We really like the hiking trails and the lake.

With the holiday week, there are plenty of special activities. The group Thanksgiving meal was wonderful. It was so nice to meet people and share the meal. Today, we participated in a just-for-fun agility contest. Lots of barking, cheering, laughing, and fun for humans and dogs alike.

We will definitely return again! We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Motorhome.

What an amazing place to camp and to bring your dogs. The sites are spacious and private and some have decks and dog pens attached. The restrooms are meticulous as is the indoor dog wash area. They also have trailers decorated nicely for rent in case you don't have your own. Hiking trails galore, excellent agility training by remarkable owner Ingrid in a state-of-the-art facility, different dog run areas all maintained beautifully, and punctuated with humor and art. Even has a store of dog art treasures some of which are made by amazing Ingrid who has the most pleasant and fun personality and is gifted in many ways. We spent a week here with our 4 dogs. We were in a 34 Class A; you really don't want to be bigger than this. You won't want to leave but if you do the surrounding area includes Grandfather Mtn., Lake Lure, great area. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Motorhome.

Great place for dogs - large off leash areas, hiking trails, ponds, etc. Sites are more rustic than some parks, although have all amenities. Cable limited and poor reception, WiFi limited. Owners are great. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Travel Trailer.

We have traveled the country for the past six years in our motorhome. Honestly, there is no better place to stay if you have a dog. Our site had an enclosed deck and a fenced-in pet area. There are dog runs for small, large, agility, and privacy. The fenced-in pond for pet swimming was amazing - so much fun for our dogs. The hiking trail was great. The creative owners provided fun activities for the humans as well as free agility training for our dogs (scheduled events). We all (dogs included) hated to leave. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to take advantage of the scheduled activities for dogs in the campground and the evening get-to-gethers for the humans. Lake Lure and Chimney Rock State Park are not far away --- a scenic lake town and park near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This was our first stay at Four Paws with our 2 fur babies & we all enjoyed ourselves. There are 4 fenced areas for the babies to run free. One of the areas is private in case you have a non social pet, an area for large breeds and an area small breeds. There is an agility course too. Gravel, spacious, wooded lots with picnic tables and fire pits. Some of the lots had private fenced areas for your pets. The bath house was super nice and even had a pup bath house. There are a ton of poop stations though out the campground. We had a fabulous themed dinner one of our nights and lots of activities for human and pup to participate in. The owners are very friendly & accommodating to everyone's needs. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Travel Trailer.

If you don't have dogs, this is a perfectly fine campground. It is extremely well-maintained and clean and the owners are helpful and efficient. If you do have dogs, this place is a treat with all kinds of special dog amenities like several fenced parks, agility training equipment, obedience training, dog swimming, doggie wash, homemade dog treats, etc. Sites are shady and have plenty of space. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Motorhome.

We just returned from a long Fourth of July weekend at Four Paws and now this is by far our favorite campground! Large, shaded sites. Super dog friendly with off-leash dog parks including ones with a pond, creek, agility course, small dog, private, etc. Several hiking trails on site and close to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Private bathrooms with toilet, sink and shower are super clean. On-site laundry and dog washing/grooming station. The owners are super friendly and make you and your fur-babies feel welcome from the first phone call. The event calendar is full of special happenings, including pot-luck dinners, breakfasts, themed dinners, games, art classes, dog classes and more! You can participate in as much as you would like or stay by yourself. Grocery stores are only about 5 miles away. We will definitely be back, in fact already reserved the whole month of October! We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Fifth Wheel.

This is "Doggy Disney World". It is all about the dogs. We were there in our 37 foot motorhome with four adults and three dogs. The sites are exceptional with a fenced in dog area for each site. The main attraction is the owners. They are very serious dog lovers and are always upbeat and positive. They attract many couples to return year after year, and it is clear why. Adults over 50 (and perhaps a bit younger) and dogs are guaranteed to have a good time. Their wireless Internet is practically useless. They have a single DSL link for all sites. Don't count on cell phone reception or Wi-Fi on the campground. If they had a pool and better Wi-Fi, I would give this park a 10. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Motorhome.

Our miniature dachshund loved all the play areas. We loved the food and hospitality. The owners are passionate about the place and it shows. Daily trash pick up at sites. Site was level, but all were gravel. Very well stocked store. Quiet and easy to get to. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is based on a weekly rate. Spotless baths and grounds. Superb Wi-Fi. Some sites are satellite friendly and they have cable. VERY dog friendly. Adults only (to avoid accidents between young ones and dogs). My first visit and will not be the last. A fantastic place if you love dogs. Several off leash areas including two that are for small dogs only. Includes a stream fed pond that pets and their slaves can swim in together. Most sites are very private. The owners are fantastic. They started this facility from scratch and there is a lot of love in it. They hold fantastic events and culinary classes taught by the chef owner who has worked in resorts all over the world. I loved the tapas class. They have dog training classes but none were on this week. There is not a thing I would change...and, no, I have no prior knowledge or affiliation with this park. I just love it. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Motorhome.

this campground is doggy disney world. they have great off leash dog parks, very friendly and helpful staff and big sites. If you are a dog owner or just love dogs, this is the place to visit. A word of caution--there are no activities for children...this is not a campground to visit if you are hoping to have your children entertained on site. There are lots of activities at Lake Lure and Chimney Rock for the family. My two labs loved the campground. We camped at Four Paws Kingdom in a Motorhome.
